Chapter 23: Chapter 23
PRESENT
"So you mean he wanted to train everyone to fight a battle to prepare for war?" Hashirama inquired, his brow furrowed.
"No, he wasn't preparing for war," Naomi clarified. "He was helping the village ninjas experience a battle like war."
"For experience? We can't just start a war, right?" Naomi added, her voice laced with disbelief.
"Haha...right," Madara chuckled, "but he didn't have to do it even if he wanted to let them experience it. Why be so cruel to his own village ninjas?"
"No, you're all wrong about that," Naomi interrupted, shaking her head. "That wasn't the only reason."
Izuna, intrigued, leaned forward. "What was the other reason?"
"Ryuu-sama was going to reconstruct the whole village," Naomi explained. "It was going to be completely destroyed anyway, so we let him use this as an opportunity."
"The village you all see now wasn't like this," she continued. "The whole area was being reconstructed. Before, there weren't many things in the village – just houses, a market, and a few other basic structures. We had to destroy it to build a new village that could be opened to outsiders and provide better living conditions for us."
"Now," she gestured around the bustling village, "there are hotels, restaurants, bathhouses, and many new places that have been added."
"That's good then," Hashirama commented. "Did you all defeat Ryuu?"
Naomi shook her head, a somber expression crossing her face. "No, we didn't. We lost completely, without any resistance. It was a battle that none of us will ever forget."
"At that time," she explained, "the entire village force – all the elite Jounin, Jounin, and Chunin, the elite Jounin and Chunin of the Sealing Corps, the stone statues you see guarding the village borders, and even twenty shadow-level beings – were all on one side, and Ryuu-sama was on the other. All the ninjas unleashed their most powerful, deadly attacks, but we all failed."
"You all directly used those kinds of attacks on my Ryuu?" Mito exclaimed, her eyes wide with concern. "What if something happened to him?"
"No, Grandma," Naomi reassured her. "Not many people knew it was Ryuu-sama. Only ten people in the entire village were aware.
Ryuu-sama also wore a mask and different clothes, so everyone thought someone was invading the village."
"Well, how many people did he fight at that time?" Madara inquired, his curiosity piqued.
"More than six thousand," Naomi replied.
The room fell silent. The sheer number of opponents overwhelmed them.
"At that time," Naomi continued, "all the elite Jounin, Jounin, and Chunin, the elite Jounin and Chunin of the Sealing Corps, the stone statues guarding the village borders, and twenty shadow-level beings – all under the control of the Sealing Corps – were deployed. Even the control of the shadow-level stone statues was given to the Sealing Corps."
"You can imagine," she said, her voice heavy with the weight of the memory, "with this force, we didn't stand a chance against him."
"Well-well," Hashirama muttered, shaking his head. "He really is... I don't know what to say."
"I can fight them all," Madara declared, "but I would also get badly hurt if I fought this many together."
"Me too," Izuna admitted. "I don't think I would stand a chance, even if my strength was at its peak."
Mito and Tobirama remained silent, but their nods confirmed their agreement.
"What Ninjutsu did he use at that time?"
Tobirama asked, his voice intense.
Everyone turned to him. They had never heard or seen anything about Ryuu's strength or the Ninjutsu he used.
"There were many," Naomi began. "He used a Ninjutsu that summoned huge stones from the sky. He also used a 'Five Elemental Dragons' Ninjutsu."
"What is this 'Five Elemental Dragons' Ninjutsu?" Tobirama questioned, his voice laced with curiosity.
"It was made of five attributes: fire, wind, earth, water, and lightning," Naomi explained.
"So it should be 'Five Attribute' Ninjutsu, right?" Tobirama pressed. "Why is it called 'Five Elemental'?"
"I also asked Ryuu-sama about that," Naomi replied, "but he said that name sounded better."
Tobirama was speechless. He had assumed there was a deeper reason for the name, but it seemed to be purely for aesthetic appeal.
"Well," Hashirama remarked, "I think he's also good at creating Ninjutsu, like you, Tobirama."
"Yes," Naomi agreed. "Ryuu-sama is very skilled at creating Ninjutsu. He even created a library for people to learn them."
Tobirama's eyes lit up at the mention of a Ninjutsu library.
"Well," Hashirama said, turning to Naomi, "can we see it?"
"Don't worry," Naomi assured him. "We will also give you Ninjutsu and other resources for only viewing them. We will not learn any Ninjutsu or take anything without permission."
"I don't know about that," Naomi said, "I will ask Ryuu-sama about it."
"Go and ask Ryuu-sama about it," Naomi instructed, her voice barely a whisper. An ANBU ninja appeared silently beside her and vanished as quickly as he had come.
"We knew someone was hiding," Madara observed, "but how did he go? We didn't sense him at all."
"Space Ninjutsu," Tobirama replied. "People in this village know Space Ninjutsu."
