Chapter 182: Chapter 182: Sealed Trust

However, just as Queen was about to leave, Shin stretched out his hand. "Wait a minute, I'll put a seal on you first."

"Huh? Seal?" Queen said, a bit puzzled. Before he could react, Shin's hand was already pressed against his body. A black rune-like letters spread from the point of contact, finally condensing at Queen's neck before fading away.

Queen touched his neck with confusion, only to feel a stiffness in his tongue as if something was faintly blocking his throat.

"Uh, Shin-sama, what exactly was that?" Queen asked, his face pale. Shin didn't respond verbally; he merely formed a hand sign. Queen immediately found himself unable to utter a single word. An invisible force seemed to grip his throat, cutting off his breath.

"Uh… uh…!" After struggling for a while, he finally regained his voice as Shin released him.

"The thing I placed on you is called the Cursed Tongue Eradication Seal," Shin explained with a smirk. "It prevents you from saying anything you shouldn't, and if I'm dissatisfied with your behavior, well… you can imagine the consequences."

Fear flickered in Queen's eyes as he nodded quickly. Dark mists emanated from Shin's hand as he touched Queen's back again, embedding a biochip in his brain—a secondary method of surveillance.

Observing this, Shin noticed that siblings Ulti and Page One looked unsettled. However, he refrained from doing the same to them.

The reason was simple: they had familial bonds with each other, which would naturally encourage loyalty. They wouldn't act impulsively without considering each other.

Historically, people with family connections or stakes in a community are often more reliable and trusted, and they are often given higher responsibilities. Contrary to popular belief, relying on those with familial ties is often easier than relying on those raised as lone orphans.

Without extensive and controlled brainwashing to create unwavering loyalty, an orphan raised without connection to others can act unpredictably. This made Ulti and Page One far more trustworthy as they had more to lose.

"Alright, everything seems to be in order," Shin said to the siblings. "You're free to explore now. Dressrosa is under our control. By the way, which of you came out on top during your recent battle in the colosseum?"

Ulti's face lit up with a victorious expression. "Of course, it was me who won!"

Page One rolled his eyes, feeling embarrassed. His sister's exaggerated fighting style in the match had almost been comedic. He had thought he might as well have lost for how ridiculous it was!

Shin chuckled, seeing their expressions and guessing it had been quite the spectacle. Then he asked, "Have either of you considered changing your devil fruits?"

"Changing devil fruits?" Page Oneechoed, eyes alight with interest. "Sir, do you have one we could trade for?"

"You think you're entitled to the devil fruits I've acquired?" Shin laughed. "That depends on what you accomplish."

"Instead of eyeing the fruits I hold, you might consider taking devil fruits from other pirates. If you manage to capture a devil fruit user, I can extract their fruit."

Hearing this, their excitement diminished slightly.

Both siblings already possessed formidable ancient dinosaur-type fruits. These fruits were some of the strongest in existence. It wasn't impossible to find superior fruits, but those who possessed them were usually formidable foes. Capturing one alive would be no easy feat.

Moreover, a new devil fruit must align with one's fighting style to enhance strength effectively.

Even so, Shin's offer was enticing. With their natural talent and devil fruit abilities, the siblings were likely to become powerful cadres. However, the chance to obtain a higher-level devil fruit could elevate them to the level of deputy emperors.

Raised in the ranks of the Beast Pirates, the siblings craved power intensely, which is why they stole devil fruits in their youth.

After finishing his conversation with them, Shin decided to stroll around Dressrosa. However, as soon as he stepped outside, a small toy clung to his leg.

"Oh, I forgot about the toys… releasing them all is tricky." Shin scratched his head, realizing that undoing the transformation on every toy would render the Donquixote family nearly powerless.

He still wanted to use the Donquixote network, so any drastic move would need careful consideration.

"But what's with this little toy?" he mused. "I thought Sugar controlled them all."

Sugar giggled, holding the resistant toy in her hand. "This one's special. She's the princess of Dressrosa. She tried to defect from the Donquixote family after you defeated Doflamingo, so I turned her into a toy. I didn't fully control her because we still needed her abilities."

Shin's eyes widened. "Is this Violet? The one with the Glare-Glare Fruit?"

The Glare-Glare Fruit was exceedingly useful, with its remarkable four-thousand-kilometer viewing range. Shin was impressed by its capabilities, which could effectively cover an entire nation.

The difference was immense compared to other sensory powers, like the Byakugan's range of 800 meters.

Violet was indeed a memorable character, so Shin recalled her readily.

"You know her, sir?" Sugar laughed, tightening her hold on the struggling toy. "Her power is quite convenient."
