The Sage of Six Paths frowned. Kagami's decisiveness had caught him off guard. He had expected to besiege Kagami in Konoha, forcing him into a passive defense. But Kagami had attacked them first. He had originally wanted to gather more forces, but now there was no time. Fortunately, he had made some preparations in advance, summoning the ninja coalition from the four great villages to the Hidden Rain Village. One day would be enough for them to arrive. This had been his backup plan from the beginning. If Kagami died in this siege, that would be for the best. But if they couldn't defeat him, he could use the souls of the fallen ninja to complete another, grander plan. It was a pity Kagami had given him so little time; with more men, he could have harvested more souls. "But it doesn't matter," the Sage smiled, as if everything was under his control. "The souls of the ninjas from the four major ninja villages are barely enough."

At this time, Hashirama Senju, who had lost control of his body, was filled with helplessness as he heard of Kagami's imminent arrival. Though he had previously misunderstood Kagami, he now genuinely did not want to see the one man who could bring peace to the world die. But he couldn't even speak, let alone resist the Sage. He had never felt so powerless.

Obito stood aside, his gaze shifting between Madara and the empty air, a complex light flashing in his eyes as he plotted his next move.

"Since Kagami is willing to walk into this trap himself," the Sage sneered, "then we should just wait here for him to die!"

Madara and Obito, each with their own hidden agenda, did not refute him.

Time passed.

On the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Rain, Uchiha Itachi and Konan moved like cheetahs in the night, agile and deadly. They had met by chance on their separate journeys to Konoha, Konan delayed by the burial of her dear friend Nagato, Itachi on his way to report the news of Madara's resurrection. After Itachi explained his intentions, they had chosen to travel together, though they remained wary of each other.

Konan's eyes were filled with a cold, simmering hatred. She walked towards Konoha without a word, her mind fixed on finding Kagami and asking him to avenge Nagato, willing to pay any price.

Behind her, Itachi's expression was complicated. In his opinion, there was no way Kagami could defeat the Sage of Six Paths and the newly empowered Madara. Konan's desire for revenge had blinded her to the reality of the situation. He admitted Kagami was strong, perhaps as strong as the Madara of old, but he was no match for the man who had absorbed the Ten-Tails. And with the mysterious Sage of Six Paths at his side, Kagami had no chance. If not for his fear that Kagami had left some hidden jutsu on Sasuke, he would have taken his brother and fled Konoha already. His only goal now was to exchange information for Sasuke's safety, and then take his brother and disappear.

Hours later, the sound of hurried footsteps came from the path ahead. Itachi and Konan stopped, a hint of vigilance in their eyes. It was too late to hide. A moment later, several figures emerged from the shadows. It was Kagami, leading the elite forces of Konoha.

"Konan, why are you here?" Kagami looked at her, a hint of surprise in his eyes. Then his gaze fell on Itachi, and his eyes immediately turned cold. "Uchiha Itachi. I never thought you, a beast, would dare to appear before me again." Without a word from Kagami, the Konoha ninja surrounded the two Akatsuki members.

Itachi stood still, his black cloak swaying in the wind, his face impassive. "Brother Kagami," he said with a faint smile, "long time no see."

"Don't call me 'brother'," Kagami sneered, his eyes devoid of any warmth. "I can't bear it." Though he didn't care that Itachi had massacred the Uchiha clan, he could not forgive him for using Amaterasu on his beloved Suzune. He still remembered the searing pain. The moment Itachi had chosen to attack Suzune, Kagami had decided he would not be allowed to live. If Obito hadn't intervened on the night of the Uchiha massacre, he would have killed him then.

Seeing Kagami's cold attitude, Itachi smiled bitterly. He couldn't understand why no one could understand his sacrifice. Everything he did was to protect the peace of Konoha. If Kagami knew what Itachi was thinking, he would have likely slapped him twice, then given him a thumbs up and said, "You're using other people's lives to maintain the peace you want. You truly are a saint!"
