Chapter 15: Choosing Wisely
To his surprise, the more he analyzed the scroll, the more interest it sparked in him.
In fact, this B-rank Taijutsu technique turned out to be even more intriguing than the A-rank Ninjutsu he had received.
It did not belong to Konoha's traditional Taijutsu style but rather to a secret art passed down within the Uchiha clan. And the most curious thing was that its method of application felt surprisingly familiar to him.
The principle was clear: through precise chakra control, concentrating it at a single point, the user could unleash monstrous strength at the moment of impact.
The essence of this technique closely resembled Tsunade Senju's combat style.
If Tsunade's ability was known as the "Senju Style Strength Technique," then what Gen now had in his hands could be described as the "Uchiha Style Strength Technique."
He was not sure of the exact differences between the two, but that did not lessen his interest.
Regarding the existence of such a technique within the clan, he had no doubts.
Konoha was born from the union of the Senju and the Uchiha. During the village's founding, both clans made peace and, naturally, there must have been certain exchanges of knowledge and techniques.
Furthermore, Madara and Hashirama were equivalent rivals in every aspect, including Taijutsu. If the Uchiha had not developed their own close-combat style, how would Madara have been able to face Hashirama on equal terms?
Slowly closing the scroll, he sighed.
"This time, I have not only demonstrated even greater talent but also revealed part of my true strength..."
He leaned his back against the couch and fixed his gaze on the ceiling.
From now on, both the clan and the village would undoubtedly pay more attention to him.
His rise would not go unnoticed.
"I'll have to be even more careful..." he murmured softly.
At that moment, his deep dark eyes began to turn an intense crimson.
When he lowered his gaze, his reflection clearly revealed:
A single-tomoe Sharingan shone.
In his opinion, the activation and evolution of the Sharingan depended on three fundamental factors: talent, emotion, and chakra.
In that order, talent was the foundation, followed by emotion, and finally, chakra.
The role of chakra required little explanation. As for emotion, although it was a crucial factor, it remained secondary.
A ninja's life was a high-risk profession. Life-and-death battles, sacrifices, irreparable losses. No shinobi was exempt from facing death up close, whether their own or that of their loved ones.
The Uchiha, by their nature, were no exception.
Even so, despite the clan having raised generations of ninjas, less than ten percent managed to awaken the Sharingan. And of those who did, most only reached the level of a single tomoe.
If the awakening of the Sharingan depended solely on the intensity of emotions, then every Uchiha would have activated it at least once in their lives.
But reality was different.
In a world where death was everywhere, the vast majority never managed to manifest their dōjutsu, no matter how many losses or traumas they suffered.
The reason was simple: they lacked the necessary talent.
For someone with great potential, minimal emotional stimulation could be enough to awaken the Sharingan. On the other hand, those with lesser talent could lose a loved one right before their eyes without anything happening.
And although his talent evolution system did not allow him to activate or evolve the Sharingan directly, it gradually reduced the barriers that prevented it.
The activation process of his Sharingan had been relatively simple.
After completing the third evolution of his [Sharingan], he was training alone in the forest when he was attacked by a black bear.
Perhaps it was the intensity of the moment, the survival instinct, or simply his own growth...
But in the midst of that struggle, his Sharingan activated with surprising ease.
And as he recalls, aside from Sasuke, who was the reincarnation of Indra, the Uchiha who awakened the Sharingan at the youngest age in the future was Itachi, at only eight years old.
Curiously, Gen had also awakened it at eight years old, making him the youngest of his generation to reach this milestone.
Although the age at which the Sharingan manifested did not completely determine a Uchiha's future potential, achieving it at an early age was a clear sign of innate talent in this dōjutsu.
For Gen, having activated it at eight years old was an advantage, but also a risk.
Figures like Hiruzen and Danzō, heirs of Tobirama's ideology, represented a threat. Some within their faction feared and marginalized the Uchiha, while others coveted the power of the Sharingan for their own purposes.
From his perspective, the real danger was not in showing talent in Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, or Genjutsu, but in revealing his Sharingan too soon.
That is why, from the moment he awakened his Sharingan, he decided to hide it carefully. Instead, he chose to stand out in other areas, keeping his Sharingan in the shadows until it was truly necessary.
After a moment, his eyes returned to their usual dark tone.
"The next step is the use of the evolution points..."
He closed his eyes and directed his consciousness into his mind, where his talent template appeared before him.
[Sharingan ★☆—5000]
[Constitution ★☆—5000]
[Ninjutsu ★☆—5000]
[Taijutsu ★☆—5000]
[Genjutsu ★☆—5000]
[Evolution Points—9537]
In just one day, his evolution points had increased by 11.
Although he had not used them during the evaluation, he had spent his free time carefully analyzing how to use them in the most efficient way.
After a brief moment of contemplation, he made his decision:
He would evolve his [Constitution] once more.
Of all his talents, even more than the Sharingan, improving his constitution was the most effective option in his current situation.
First, there was the factor of physical endurance.
Unlike his progress in Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and Genjutsu, where he could train faster thanks to the use of shadow clones, his physical endurance improved at a much slower rate.
In other words, his current weakness was stamina. Even if he was no longer below the level of a Chūnin, it was still not enough.
Then there was the matter of chakra.
The more advanced the jutsus, the greater the chakra consumption when executing them.
Now that he had three new advanced techniques, including an A-rank Ninjutsu, he needed to ensure that he would have the capacity to use them fluently once he mastered them.
Even though his chakra was already at the level of a Jōnin, it was still not enough.
If he wanted to reach a level where he could use his jutsus without worrying about his limit, improving his [Constitution] was his best option.
