Chapter 28: Supporting the clan's growth

"That's right!"
Uchiha Ken nodded firmly, then his eyes lit up slightly as he asked, "Kid, are you thinking about working with the Second Elder and even the whole clan?"
"Exactly!" Uchiha Kira confirmed with a nod. "A chain restaurant business isn't something we can handle alone. The investment is too big, and it requires long-term support in manpower and resources.
"We can provide the recipes and business plan, while the clan invests money and locations in exchange for shares. That way, we all profit.
"The same logic applies to high-proof liquor.
"Even things like pharmaceuticals and explosive tags could be handled in collaboration with the clan—we handle production, and they handle distribution.
"After all, the Uchiha have businesses and trade routes across the world. This saves us the trouble of establishing our own networks. What do you think?"
Honestly, Kira didn't care too much about money.
As long as he had enough, that was fine.
The problem was—he didn't have enough right now. And his upcoming experiments required significant financial investment.
Not to mention the resources needed for his family's training—medicinal herbs and other materials.
It was time to start making money.
Bringing the Uchiha Clan in on these ventures had another major advantage: sharing risk and pressure.
It would also help Kira stay under the radar.
He had already attracted enough attention lately—keeping a lower profile was a smart move.
After hearing him out, Uchiha Ken and Mika exchanged a glance. Ken nodded and said, "That actually makes sense. Let's go with your plan!"
"But are you sure the recipes and high-proof liquor will taste good? If they don't, then none of this matters."
That was the key issue.
"Of course! I'm confident in this. If you don't believe me, you can try making some yourselves first."
Kira was absolutely sure.
These were tried-and-true recipes from his previous life, where people had a deep appreciation for good food and drink.
Unless this world's people had broken taste buds, there was no way they wouldn't work.
"Alright! Let's test it out first."
Ken nodded in satisfaction. "If the taste is solid, I'll handle the chain restaurant and brewing business!"
"As for the pharmaceuticals, discuss that with your mother. If you need my help, just ask."
As for the automated explosive tag production line... Ken wasn't convinced Kira could actually pull off such an insane idea.
They would cross that bridge when they got there.
"Got it!"
Mika nodded, then turned to Kira. "How confident are you about the explosive and medical tags? Have you completed them already? What about the spatial storage scrolls and pharmaceutical production?"
Kira answered immediately, "I've got a solid lead on the explosive tags. For the medical tags, I still lack a solid foundation in sealing techniques.
"I plan to ask my teacher for help—maybe get some basic sealing books to build my knowledge base.
"After all, the Uchiha aren't exactly known for their sealing techniques.
"So, I'll need to consult her frequently when developing the medical tags.
"As for spatial storage scrolls, I found a crafting method in the clan's books and have already learned it. But the current method is inefficient and costly—I need a few more months to refine it."
Ultimately, most of these issues stemmed from his lack of a solid foundation in sealing techniques.
"Regarding pharmaceuticals, I plan to start with five products:
"First, an improved soldier pill. It tastes better and is twice as effective as the ones currently on the market.
"Second, a newly developed antidote pill that neutralizes most common poisons quickly.
"Third, a hemostatic pill that can be used internally or externally for excellent bleeding control.
"Fourth, a wound-healing ointment with exceptional regenerative properties.
"Fifth, a body-strengthening pill, available in versions for youth and adults, based on the medicinal bath formula you've been using.
"Dad, you guys can use these pills in place of the baths—it'll save you the hassle.
"Of course, the commercial version will be half as potent as our private supply. What do you think?"
Kira was convinced that this would be their biggest money-maker.
Especially the body-strengthening pill—who wouldn't want that?
"Damn!"
Ken sucked in a breath, staring at his son in amazement. "Kid, you've been coming up with all this lately?!"
"These are all essential, high-demand ninja supplies!"
"Especially that soldier pill—you're sure it actually tastes good?"
Kira: "???"
"Uh... Dad, shouldn't you be more focused on the body-strengthening pill?"
Kira was speechless.
"Haha!"
Before Ken could answer, Mika chuckled, covering her mouth. "It's because we've all suffered from how awful soldier pills taste—especially your father, who used to take on long-term missions."
"Mikoto, I'm sure you've had to eat them before, right?"
She turned to Uchiha Mikoto with a knowing smile.
Mikoto's face twisted slightly in discomfort, her brow furrowing as if recalling a bad memory. She nodded reluctantly. "Yeah... On emergency missions in the field, we often have to use them. The taste is just... unforgettable."
Horribly bad.
She looked at Kira with hopeful eyes. "Kira! If you can really make a decent-tasting soldier pill, even if the effect is only average, it will sell like crazy. You'll make a fortune."
Nobody would say no to a soldier pill that actually tasted good.
"Then get ready to rake in the cash! The formulas are all here."
Kira pulled a stack of papers from his pocket and handed them to his mother. "These contain all five formulas—I'll leave it to you, Mom. Oh, and..."
He turned to Ken. "Dad! Make sure to talk to the Third Elder and the clan about the body-strengthening pill. Tell them we'll supply it at cost price—we won't make a single coin of profit from the clan."
"That's the right move!"
Ken nodded approvingly. "If we make this clear beforehand, no one in the clan can accuse us of hoarding benefits."
"By doing this, we silence any complaints before they start."
He paused, then asked, "Which version will we provide—the commercial one or our personal-use version?"
There was a major difference in potency.
"The commercial version is fine."
Kira made the decision instantly. "That's more than enough. While we should support the clan's growth, we can't rely entirely on our family alone. We also need to keep some trump cards."
Blindly treating the Uchiha Clan as family would be foolish.
His family wasn't even the clan leader's household. They would be crazy to give everything away.
When he had shared the Foundation Building Bath formula, it had been to earn merit and gain access to the clan's hidden resources—while also improving the potential of young Uchiha.
This was different.
Even the clan leader's household had their own personal assets.
"Alright! We'll do it your way."
Ken nodded in satisfaction.
