Naruto: Chakra System

On the second day of the Chūnin Exam, Kakashi sat alone in a room within the huge tower at the center of Training Ground 44. His legs were propped up on the table, and his head was turned toward the morning sunlight streaming through the window.

"It's strange how Orochimaru didn't take any action yesterday," he mused aloud. He had already scanned the Genin who had entered the Forest of Death and pinpointed Orochimaru's location. The Sannin was really disguised as a member of an Amegakure Genin team.

Team Baki, just the day before, had already killed one of the two passed Amegakure teams, with Gaara done the job and him and his siblings having secured both the Heaven and Earth scrolls. The Sand Village team would soon arrive at the tower. This made it easy for Kakashi to find Orochimaru's location, as remaining Ame Team.

"Now is the time to put my plans into motion," he said, standing up and touching the floor with his fingertips.

"Area Scanning Technique!"

Kakashi channeled his chakra, closing his eyes to focus. He scanned the proximity of the Forest of Death. "Hmm, Team 7 is at the west, but Orochimaru's chakra is coming from the south-east."

"Well, it's a good thing Orochimaru didn't take action yet, but he will soon," Kakashi muttered, forming a hand sign. "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Three Shadow Clones appeared beside him. He nodded and clapped his hands. "I don't need to explain what to do, right?"

The Shadow Clones nodded and instantly flickered away to their designated roles assigned themselves.Kakashi then again waved his hand and slammed it on the floor, causing a dark sealing pattern to appear.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

Poof!

With a white puff of smoke, a small, pug-like dog with brown fur, a snout, and floppy ears appeared.

"Yo! Kakashi," Pakkun said in his deep, gruff voice, wearing the standard outfit and Konoha headband of Kakashi's ninken.

"Pakkun, good to see you, but let's get to work. I'm in a hurry you see," Kakashi said, pulling a few small strands of red hair from his inventory seal and showing them to Pakkun.

Pakkun lazily sniffed the hair, then looked up sharply at Kakashi. "This... this smell is quite far. It seems we really have to move quickly."

Kakashi nodded. With that, he and Pakkun swiftly moved out of the tower, and Kakashi ordering and leaving the ANBU and other guards to stand by and watch for any teams that arrived.

Outside the entrance to the Forest of Death, Anko looked up from her seated position. She raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Well, look who it is, Copy-Cat Kakashi. Why have you come here? Shouldn't you be in the tower right now?"

Kakashi's Shadow Clone, with a serious look on its face, said, "Orochimaru... he is here, disguised as an Amegakure Genin. We should quickly inform the Third Hokage!"

Anko abruptly stood up, her casual demeanor gone. Her eyes widened as she stammered, "O-Orochimaru..?"

She gritted her teeth, anger palpable on her face, and gently touched her neck where she had the Cursed Seal. "Then why are you here? We should go and stop him from whatever reason he's here for!"

"There's no need to be hasty," Kakashi's Clone shrugged. "I have my clone following him from a distance. We should move quickly to inform the Third Hokage and take him down with the force of the ninjas around us."

Anko nodded, but then said, "Then you go. I can't leave that bastard alone!" With that, she flickered into the Forest of Death.

Kakashi's clone stood there with a confused look on his face. He mumbled, "Man, she's really hasty! Does she even know where to go? Or where Orochimaru actually is?"

He shook his head and informed the two chūnin at the post to follow Anko, telling them the location of Orochimaru, while he headed toward the Hokage Building.

"What? Orochimaru?!" Hiruzen slammed his hands on the table, his smoking pipe falling from his mouth.

"Yes, Hokage-sama, and we should hurry," Kakashi's clone said with a deep, serious voice. "He hasn't done anything yet, but his presence means nothing but disaster for the village."

Hiruzen inclined his head, his hands on the table. He sighed heavily before signaling an ANBU. "Call two squads. We are moving to capture the Missing-nin Orochimaru."

Once the ANBU was gone, Hiruzen looked back at Kakashi. "Are you sure about that? Is he really—"

"Yes, I am completely sure!" Kakashi's clone cut in. "And we need to hurry because Anko has already gone after him. By now, they might even be fighting with me, Anko, and the two chūnin."

Hiruzen nodded. Within the next minute, two ANBU squads appeared. Hiruzen ordered, "One of you, go and inform this news to the other three Elders quickly. And the rest... come with me!"

With that, Hiruzen removed his Hokage robe and hat, donned his combat attire, and moved swiftly toward the location Kakashi's clone had given him. Kakashi's clone walked out of the Hokage's Building and watched the ANBU and Hiruzen leave before turning.

Instead, he moved below the Hokage Residence, where he sensed six ANBU guarding a room. 'Just six, not much of a problem,' he thought, charging his body with Chidori.

"Chidori Nagashi!"

Zzzzzt!

Lightning bolts strong enough to knock out any chūnin shot from his body and struck the six ANBU in the room without them even noticing his presence and keeping the impact as low as possible.

"Good thing it didn't make much sound," he said, walking into the dimly lit room with several shelves filled with large scrolls.

"Hey, someone's coming!" Naruto said to Sasuke and Sakura. They were moving stealthily in the forest but had yet to find any target team.

Sasuke smirked. "Finally, we can get some fight!"

"Yeah!" Naruto nodded with an equally battle-thirsty grin.

Sakura reprimanded them. "Don't just think about fighting. We need the Heaven Scroll. If these enemies have it, then fine, but otherwise, there's no point in wasting time."

"Wait, Sakura, it's not enemies, it's just a single person coming towards us. I can feel a malicious chakra with a clear ill will toward us!" Naruto described, which shocked Sasuke and Sakura.

"Wait, what do—"

BOOM!

With a huge explosion, Team 7 was thrown backward, and a figure with a round brown hat, slitted yellow snake eyes, and a chalk-white, pale face appeared on the top tree branch ahead them. His large tongue hissed as he grinned at Team 7, his eyes landing on Sasuke.

Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura were all utterly shocked. Sakura stammered, "H-hey, guys, isn't that... that Sannin?"

Sasuke's eyes narrowed, instantly turning into a blood-red Sharingan. "Yeah, the one Kakashi-sensei said has defected from the village. But what is he doing here?!"
