Nomad War-1
''Holy shit it's a fuckin' bo-.'' The Wraith's head was turned into mulch as a spray of rounds from the shoulder-mounted mini-gun split the man in two as the humanoid figure walked off the destroy Van and began to fire at the Wraiths in sight, even as bullets began to ricochet off the armor, gun, and the suit as a whole the figure continued to walk without stopping.
If he ran out of rounds in the Ajax, he simply dropped the mag and loaded the next one, not stopping as he tore through the small army of Wraiths that had surrounded the camp, having gotten dangerously near the heart of the current camp.
''WELL DON'T JUST SIT THERE, SHOOT AT THEM!'' Saul roared, this seeming to move everyone in action as the Aldecaldos began to fire at the Wraiths as well.
Within another minute, two similar suits appeared, one with falcon features, and the other with cat features, moving with the one in the Doberman suit.
They moved with him without words, the Falcon one had a wing expand out, using it as shielding as the one in the catsuit began to pull wounded Aldecaldos' to the rest of them, applying them with what looked like a stim shot before she moved onto the next person, able to get three at a time with both arms and the tail.
David kicked from the ground and shifted his gravity, making him shoot forward as he let his Ajax drop to the ground.
Using the suit he tore through a van like paper mache, straight-punching the ones in the back and ripping the seats backward as he got to the driver and passenger, walking through the other side as he continued to fight them off until they began to run. Leaving trackers on all of them.
David watched the mass of them begin leaving. Nanites took his Ajax and the magazines he had dropped. Cleaning and repairing any damage done to them while also refilling the mags as they got left on a table that had been repaired to have them set down.
As David walked back towards the gathering of all the Aldecaldos. Most of them were hesitant, not every day a literal super soldier drops out of the sky, followed by two others, and starts tearing through the battlefield.
David's suit opened as he walked, turning into it's Companion form as he continued to walk toward them.
''David...?'' Saul asked confused, he had asked for help, sure. But he didn't ask for David to show up like that, this wasn't even in the 'Best' case scenario he had thought about when he called David, the last person he could call. He knew David had made it big in the city but this was... More than 'Big'.
''BIG BROTHER!" Like a missle Panam bounced out from behind cover, sprinting across the dirt before leaping at him.
David smiled as he caught her, lifting her up as he hugged her tightly. ''Hey Racer, how have you been?''
''I knew you would come to help! You promised you would if we ever needed help!'' Panam grinned as she snuggled into him.
''I am, technically an Honorary member still, and I wouldn't turn back on family.'' He ruffled her hair before setting her down, only to need to walk funny since she refused to let go of him.
Despite her being fourteen now, she refused to stop being clingy to David., even as going far to 'Swear' she would marry him, the moment she turned 18 without fail when she was only 10.
''David... I don't even know what to say... How?'' Saul asked, everyone, moving to assist the other two suits with the injured as Carol came over to hug David tightly, which he returned.
''I did hit it big in the city, after Mom passed, I decided to stick it to the man and said man, had a fancy suit. I stole it, put some of the brains mom gifted me with to use, and made it my own.''
He whistled slightly, shaking his head. ''Is that what 'hitting it big' means now? Maybe I've been doing it wrong all these years.'' Saul raised a hand to grip David's wrist, and David gripped Saul's as they shook firmly.
''I can't thank you enough, David... If it hadn't been for you, I'm pretty sure we'd be gone right now.''
''Don't say that, you haven't heard what I want in return for helping you yet.'' David chuckled softly, getting a serious look out of Saul in return.
''Don't give me that look... I need you for a few jobs, got projects I want to start working on, and I want to extend my success to family.''
Saul squinted a bit. ''There's a but coming... What is it?''
''But... What I want to do can't have hits on supplies, or small skirmishes happening while we're working. Start contacting the whole family. I'm going to clean up the badlands.''
''Wait...'' Saul released David's arm, stepping back to get a good look at him. ''You mean you're going to crush the Wraiths?''
David shook his head, keeping his grin.
''David... You don't mean the entire Raffen Shiv group... right? Not even the Seven Nations would be willing to undertake something like that.''
''I do mean the whole group, I need to make sure even the workers will be safe... For now, don't worry about it, I'm going to start with the small groups around us for now, and as you saw I can handle them easily enough. For now, let's get the place cleaned up.''
Once David said that, he began to go around to the injured people, confirming their condition and that they were on the road to recovery. The stim Lucy had injected them with before was a mixture of biofluid, herbal remedies to help numb things, and nanites that would stitch things back together. It would still take a while for them to get back on their feet, but this was the best way to prevent deaths without him basically reviving them from the dead.
Thankfully, whereas there were some close calls, no one was dead or in the worry about joining the dead.
About thirty minutes later and multiple AVs began to land around the camp, making a heavily armored wall around it as Mercs, and multiple members of the Valentinos along with Padre himself. David did a few introductions, appointing 'Hunting' teams that would focus on clearing the immediate area to make sure they stayed safe, while leaving a large group of heavy guns here to defend the Camp.
He didn't even try to tell Rebecca what to do, he just told her to go have fun, and she was off like a bullet.
Lucy joined David in the tent that was allocated for them, David getting some stretches in. ''Well, if we're clearing the badlands... Should we just clear the city?'' She chuckled, her arms wrapping around his neck as she slid into his lap.
''I mean, we can yeah. Maelstrom, Scav's, and some of the 'worse' of the other gangs.'' His hands slid along her lower back, his hands moving grip her ass with a firm hold as he kept her close, pressing kisses down the front of her throat.
This got a purr out of her as she arched her back into him, having her ass push up against his hands. ''Only we would be confident enough to whip NC of it's trash... There is a problem though.''
''The higher ups you mean?'' David asked, shaking his head softly with a chuckle. ''How so? No one would notice if I were to replace them, I could make a perfect co-....'' David's brows furrowed a bit as something clicked.
''You've got that face again, the face of questioning your godhood.'' She joked, running her fingers through his hair. ''What is it?''
''Perfect copies... Do you think I went back into time to kill the real Faraday, then replaced him with a perfect copy?''
Lucy stopped, leaning back to look at him for a bit before she nodded softly. ''It's possible, right? Maybe Faraday died before you could get your hands on him, and then you decided 'It has to be me.' then went back in time eventually to kill him, and but to help your younger self deal with the hatred, you made the perfect copy, but left clues to make sure you'd find out.''
David raised a hand from Lucy's ass to rub his face, the thought that eventually he might find time travel was a weird one, but honestly the first thing that went through is head was...
Could he save his mother? Of course he could, all it would take was going back in time and preventing the incident. But why didn't he?
His head hurt already, this is why Time travel was an annoying concept. He'd have to think about it later, maybe the answer comes to him eventually in the future, and that's why he didn't do it.
Leaning back in the chair he was sat in he let out a long sigh.
''Let's not think about it for now, we'll cross that road once we find it, for now... Let's focus on cleaning up our backyard.'' Lucy leaned forward, kissing him softly.
Sorry about the absence, just dealing with a lot.
