Nameless soul

So let's understand what happened, even with my heightened senses as a star the situation is still quite difficult to understand.

Let's begin with this world it's a completely different one from my own this is a world where monsters and humans both exist and humans can also become strong like monsters through powers granted to them by the Star System. It is a system which choses people on their capabilities and worth and grants them the ability to advance and achieve supernatural abilities to protect themselves.

Mostly people who face immense suffering in their lives are chosen by the system and one such person was Spade. He was born into a middle-class family but he never felt the lack of anything his parents fulfilled his every desire and as he grew he also found his life partner in the form of his neighbor Matilda she was a beautiful and charming women despite a gap of 5 years in their age Spade won her heart and they started dating once Spade turned 18.

But just a week later his entire life changed due to an accident his house was caught on fire and along with his house both his parents also died he himself suffered severe burns all over his face but with the help of a healer he managed to save his vision and his ability to speak. But during that fire he also earned the potential of a five star of the highest rank but to him it was nothing more than a scar.

He would've died the day it all happened but he had to live because Matilda had not given up on him she still loved him like she always did and that was the only reason keeping him alive but he soon figured it out that Matilda was not showing it but she felt disturbed by his burned face and Spade didn't blame her but it still hurt him and for that he wished to die while continuing to live this beautiful dream and last night once Matilda went to sleep he consumed a poison which would kill him in the most believable way possible because only after his death would Matilda be free to move on.

But just at the time of his death I entered his body taking control of it and somehow I had also completed the requirements to be a potential but once I tried to access the Star System it found two potentials in the same body so it merged it into one to clear the issue giving me the unique twilight element a combination of two elements well it's not unlikely for someone to possess the combination of two elements but they had it from the beginning it was not combined after entering the body as two different elements.

That could be the reason for that special soul pieces feature because the capacity of the soul core is only increased once they ascend to the next rank but it seems that my core is expandable.

As Spade was lost in though a voice called out to him it was Matilda calling him to come have breakfast.

Wearing his clothes Spade walked down the stairs where Matilda has already arranged the table with a luxurious breakfast, after all her ability was of the Plant element which granted her the ability to grow and use plants to make various concotions with special effects.

Once seated Spade started eating as he knew just how good Matilda's cooking tasted and the food started disappearing quite quickly but Matilda was continuing to give him more as they chatted like a newly married couple while having breakfast Spade thought

Now what, If things continue like this I won't be able to leave. Even if she looks happy and cheerful from my skills and abilities I can sense just how hard she is trying, it was neither Spade's wish nor is mine to hurt her but I'm not Spade deceiving her as Spade is a crime which I'm not willing to commit then how should I leave without hurting her there is the way of using the potential as an excuse to go train under the tutelage of a master but the rarity of my element makes it unlikely for me to find a master I don't think there has ever been someone of the Twilight element. I guess the only remaining option is to go to the academy.

Having finished breakfast I told Matilda that I still feel sleepy and came back to the bedroom.

The Academy is the choice of many but it's mostly because they are low rank potentials or can't afford a master, and for such individuals the government of this world has created the academy it's a place which provides basic training on how to survive in the wilderness of outside the barrier, basic combat training along with living facilities, training facilities and much more.

But the only issue is that the instructors at the academy are mostly two stars whereas a master is atleast a three star the gap between the two ranks is quite huge as three star is the first qualitative change when a Star surpasses thier human capabilities. To compare, a three star is likely five times stronger than a two star.

But the academy will atleast allow me to draw less attention because the higher rank potentials always face the problem of constantly being recruited by many people who wish to have one on their side, after all five star is the highest rank of potential one can posses that is why most people do not disclose their actual potential and as for the stars on the hand they can only be seen by someone if u wish for it. Normally it's used by high ranking Stars as a show of authority once they achieve a rank high enough to not be disturbed anymore.

Even then at the academy you have to be careful because you will form teams and make friends whom you can rely on once you are outside and it is commonly believed as a show of trust to share your abilities with them so the academy is also a good place to scout people to form a team with.

For the rest of the day Spade planned on how to travel to the academy, and made arrangements accordingly but before that he had to do something about his face even at the academy it would be a hindrance because all Stars become more attractive the higher they go in rank and it is said that at four Star you stop aging that was one of the reasons why five stars change very rarely even though it's unlikely to ever see one, even four stars only appear in big cities and that too very rarely.

But I have a solution for this issue it was a bit expensive but it's surely worth it.
