Mythical Three Kingdoms

Chapter 1161: Mutual Recognition

Li Jue heard Anyue's translation, and a hint of bitterness appeared on his face, while Tilitaya was extremely painful. They had fought with the Romans for so many years, yet the Romans were willing to help the Parthian Warriors collect their corpses only a handful of times. But after just one battle, the Romans acknowledged the Han Empire.

Anyue translated the original words to Li Jue, who then looked at Ganasis, "Next time, there will be more of us."

After speaking, Li Jue turned his horse and left directly, Guo Si and Fan Chou did not say much and also left. Ganasis watched the three depart before turning away, and as for Tilitaya, Ganasis did not take him to heart at all.

Upon returning, Ganasis immediately assigned a camp to arrange the Han Army's corpses, waiting for them to be accepted by the Han Army. As for his own side's corpses, they put them on carriages, ready to transport them back to Mesopotamia for treatment before sending them back to Rome.

Fortunately, it was winter at this time, eliminating the issue of decay, otherwise, they could only cremate them on-site and take them back.

"Legion Leader, we lost about seven thousand soldiers." After Ganasis returned, a Camp Leader hurriedly reported to him.

"Seven thousand?" Ganasis was filled with heartache.

"Most of the losses occurred when the Han Army breached the second archer defensive line. Our army's arrows had virtually no effect on the Han Army," the Camp Leader said bitterly, as the archers were approached by Heavy Cavalry and had no means of resistance.

"How many of our native infantry have perished?" Ganasis sighed in relief, as long as it wasn't the Romans who died. The hired archers and the archers from the vassal states, no matter how many died, it didn't matter.

"More than fifteen hundred perished. The opponent's attack was powerful, and their defense was even more troublesome. According to our analysis, the glow around their general appears to have a similar effect to our Legion's Eagle Banner," the Camp Leader informed Ganasis of the analysis from the subordinate leaders.

"Yes, I understand." Ganasis nodded, his expression solemn. The strength of the Han Empire could be glimpsed from this one army.

"Send all collected information to the council and let them handle it," Ganasis instructed a Tribune of the Plebs after the Camp Leader left.

Ganasis retreated cautiously with his column, leaving only one camp to guard the corpses of the Han Empire's warriors there, waiting for Li Jue to collect them.

After the Romans slowly retreated, Li Jue finally felt relieved, quickly closed his Legion Talent, and immediately a wave of dizziness emerged, shaking his head made him feel much better.

"Go and receive our brothers' corpses." Li Jue said calmly, having long become accustomed to life and death, knowing well this is the nature of war, but he would continue to fight.

The leading Camp Leader bowed to Li Jue, returning the corpses to him, and then left with his subordinates, as for the Parthians nearby, they showed no trace of fear.

"What did he say?" Li Jue glanced at the nearby Tilitaya and asked.

"Seems like he asked why we didn't kill those Romans." Anyue was somewhat unsure, as his Parthian language was not very good.

"Tell him I despise him!" Li Jue said bluntly, having understood what an Empire means, even if it kicks someone else's face, it's still the other's face that crashed into its foot, wrong is never the empire.

"The General asked me to tell you that he looks down on you." Anyue mimicked Li Jue's tone, instantly causing Tilitaya to feel a belly full of fire.

When Li Jue rode back, he completely ignored Tilitaya, as for the Alliance Charter, he was prepared to tear it up at any time. Dividing the rich land of Parthia with Rome was a very good idea. Li Jue indicated that this plan could be tried after the Han Empire was united.

Li Jue had great confidence in Liu Bei unifying the world, mostly a result of Li Ru's presence. As for how to occupy these distant lands, Li Jue was confident that founding a nation and pledging subservience to himself was achievable, as the former empire of Parthia seemed not very strong.

Li Jue's image of leading his troops back all bloodied was seen by all the nobles of the Parthian Royal City, those Parthian Nobles who originally had designs on the Han Army completely lost interest after Tilitaya informed them.

Having destroyed six to seven thousand Roman Soldiers, while losing only a small number themselves, everyone's secret thoughts were extinguished, truly, an incredibly formidable empire!

After Li Jue and Guo Si dressed their wounds, they gathered once more, this time noticeably different from before. All three were stirred by Ganasis, arising an interest in the fertile land beneath their feet.

In the eyes of Li Jue and others, the Soldiers under Ganasis' command were comparable to the level of the Elite of Danyang troops, yet they roamed Parthia for ten years without many defeats, and even now could speak of dividing Parthia in half.

This shocked Li Jue and others, and also made them understand which level they, as Feudal Lords of the Han Empire, were at. The level of a Roman Duke was something they worked hard to comprehend these days and ultimately determined this level was equivalent to Provincial Governor.

Comparing the muscles displayed by Ganasis, Li Jue and others weighed it, and ultimately gave Ganasis a fairly high evaluation, roughly equivalent to the Governors of Xuzhou, Yuzhou, and Jingzhou back in the day.

This level, although considered strong, was not the strongest, as above were the Governors of Bingzhou and Jizhou, and the monstrous coolness of Liangzhou and Youzhou. However, based on this encounter, Li Jue believed Rome's overall strength should be more or less similar to the Han Dynasty.

As for the exact comparison, Li Jue couldn't determine, but as a Provincial Governor level figure like Ganasis could fight Parthia for ten years and ultimately defeat them, Li Jue thought of categorizing the powerful Parthia of a hundred years ago as akin to the Qiang People.

Therefore, Li Jue estimated that when the time came, as long as he could deploy ten thousand Xiliang Iron Cavalry, he would likely have the qualification to split Parthia with Ganasis.

After all, ten thousand Xiliang Iron Cavalry is approximately the combat power a Provincial Governor could muster, Li Jue was very confident in this, as the more numerous the Xiliang Iron Cavalry, the stronger the average strength of each Soldier becomes.

"I plan to write down everything I've seen in a letter and send it to the strategist." Li Jue said to Guo Si and Fan Chou.

"As for this country of Parthia, we need to understand a bit more. These light cavalry and mounted archers are actually very threatening, only countered to death by Great Qin." Li Jue was not a fool and was well aware he now had to rely on the empire behind him to be able to intimidate all directions.

"We do indeed need to understand a bit. Their light cavalry and archers useless against us do not mean they are useless against others, as for Great Qin…" Guo Si was slightly apprehensive, the combat quality of the Romans was really terrifying.
