Chapter 5 - Revenge 5
“What should we do…”
“There’s no way the duke’s family can do anything to the temple. However, the public would rather not see her again. Dealing with fools who label anyone with differing opinions as ‘evil’ and come at them with accusations is really annoying after all.”
“I understand…”
Two days later, Luce Santa was escorted to a strict monastery where she would never be allowed to leave until death.
On the surface–
In reality, she was sold to the underground organ trade.
I didn’t necessarily wish for things to go this far, and I never thought they would go to such lengths.
Surprisingly, the decision to sell the former saint was made by the upper echelons of the temple.
She would never have imagined being sold by the high-ranking priests who recommended her as saints or by the adored high-ranking priests.
In essence, the temple should also be subject to punishment.
Yet, they pinned all the blame on Luce Santa alone. Or rather, it would be better to say they shifted the blame onto her.
The temple never imagined that a woman bestowed with the title of saint would go this far, even if she had been educated in the temple’s ways.
Despite serving the gods, they were ultimately human.
‘My own life is the most precious.’
It’s truly humane.
It’s amusing because even people who really believe in the gods are affected by this.
The gods must be disappointed when they see the actions of their followers.
Although I said not to consider her—
I never said to “kill her.”
We could have just imprisoned her in the monastery for the reasons stated publicly, or we could have sent her to a country unrelated to ours and ensured she never returned.
However, the temple didn’t see it that way.
‘What if a woman who knew Luce was to enter the monastery?’
‘What if she accidentally encountered her abroad?’
They feared every possible “if.”
They decided to erase Luce Santa from this world, as they feared living in constant fear themselves.
They feared further exposure of the temple’s misdeeds.
Perhaps the documents handed to the priests made them really scared.
The temple is known to operate orphanages as a form of salvation.
Yet, many of those involved exploit the orphans.
It’s lamentable that those who serve the gods are using innocent children as outlets for their desires.
If such actions were to become known, it would be disastrous.
This could spell the end for the temple.
As expected from the temple that nurtured such an infamous villainess.
My sense that it’s already in its final stages isn’t unfounded.
They kindly registered Luce as an organ donor.
They probably persuaded her to register somehow.
They’ve thought this through.
Even if organs are being trafficked behind the scenes, it wouldn’t be apparent.
After all, they’re pros at it.
With just the organ donor registration, they could come up with any excuse.
They’re quite skilled at it.
Perhaps this isn’t their first time.
Every usable organ from Luce Santa was meticulously extracted.
I felt sorry for anyone who would receive organs from such a bitch, so I arranged deals behind the scenes.
The loose organs of the promiscuous former saint were all allocated for use by the underworld residents.
With all this going on, six months had flown by.
Although I’ve tidied up most of it, the main dish is yet to be served.
The last remaining target is the Crown Prince.
He’s the man I want to exact my revenge on the most.
He remained Crown Prince even after that incident.
That’s unacceptable, isn’t it?
