Chapter 98: Care To Join Me?
Leon relayed the information about the guards' levels to the others and then ran towards the metal cage. As for how he knew their information, his friends didn't ask.
They just began to follow the plan as the girls rushed the guards, and Denver intercepted the police officers who had come out from behind.
'Hold them off!'
Meanwhile, Natasha stood before the guards with a smile on her face and said, "Care to join me for tea?"
The guards didn't listen or reply. They already knew they were being attacked, and that was all the signal they needed to act. Often times, talking only delayed important matters and even led to deaths.
Natasha clicked her tongue upon seeing that and then showed a beautiful smile. Pink blossoms swirled in her eyes as she took a step forward.
The guards' movements stiffened for a moment. As if that was the signal, another bullet shot out of the darkness and hit one of the guard's knees.
"There are more!" Their leader snapped out of the daze and shouted. "I'll handle her. You two, search for her companions."
"Are you going to leave?"
Just as the two of them were about to go, a soft magnetic voice reached their ears, making their knees go soft and limp.
Two consecutive bullets came from the dark, and the leader quickly defended against one, but the other struck her subordinate.
She was furious and shouted, "Don't listen to her voice, idiots! Go and search for her companions!"
Then, her figure flashed before Natasha, who was about to use more of her charm ability, and the leader swept her longsword straight at Natasha's neck.
There was no hesitation in those eyes, and she was fast enough to even catch Natasha off guard. Fortunately, Natasha had been aware of the difference in their strength and was prepared for such a situation.
She didn't try to fight the leader head-on and instead began dodging all of her blows. Still, it was a little difficult even for her. 'She is strong.'
"Are you going to hurt me?" Natasha asked with a pleading gaze that would have melted many hearts, but the leader just gritted her teeth and even seemed to have bitten her tongue to resist the charm.
She continued bombarding Natasha with relentless attacks while the pink-haired girl slowly began to change her position.
'Still, it isn't enough. I need to get the second one out.' Natasha thought before shifting her head sideways as an incandescent blade passed by an inch from her face.
The guards had begun to use Skills.
A few strands of pink hair fell as the sword continued its onslaught. Seeing that, Natasha clenched her fists as pink flames erupted from her hands.
She swiftly dodged another strike and threw the fireballs she had condensed in her palms. The leader dodged them easily, but that wasn't her aim to begin with.
The fireballs hit the barrier, making it tremble. The leader stopped upon noticing it, and a wary look appeared in her eyes. She asked, "What are you? And why are you attacking us?"
"Ready to talk?" Natasha smiled sweetly as a soft aroma began to leak from her body. "That's what I've been saying from the start. We should just sit down and listen."
The guard's grip on the sword loosened as she touched her forehead in pain. "Damn it! What kind of demon are you?"
Natasha's body shook slightly, but she quickly stabilized and turned towards the truck. It didn't take long before the truck's door opened and another guard walked out of it.
She slapped the truck once more, making the barrier stronger. It would consume more resources, but the situation demanded it.
Anyone could see that Natasha had a higher chance of winning in a one-on-one battle due to her annoying charm skill.
But it was different if there were two Tier 3 guards facing her. Both of them were nearing the peak of Tier 3.
Natasha watched the two of them and smiled faintly. 'Now the tricky part begins. I have to survive against these two all alone. Little Brother, I hope you succeed. I can only help you this much.'
Then, she took out a spear from her dimensional bag and began to battle the two guards. She was carefully leading them further away from the truck.
On the other hand, Rani had already descended into the battlefield and was fighting hand-to-hand combat with a guard who was in early Tier 3.
Her attacks were rapid and didn't let her opponent have any chance to think of their next move. She knew she wouldn't be a match if the guard began to use Skills, so she refused to give them that opening.
Meanwhile, Bella was running around the hill while occasionally shooting at her opponent. The first shot to the knees had weakened her opponent's agility, but she was still fast.
Bella knew she couldn't fight a Tier 3, especially in close range which wasn't her specialty, so she was playing the game of chase with her opponent.
'It should buy him some time.'
As the four guards got separated and tried to quickly deal with their enemies, Leon circled around the hill and reached the backside of the cage.
He could already see Denver standing in the distance. He was like a mountain that wouldn't let those police officers pass through him.
'But it's only temporary. If they use their artifacts, it'll be tough for him to hold on against them.'
Leon didn't waste any time. Upon reaching the blue barrier, he swung his indestructible bat on the ground. The impact made a hole in the dirt, throwing it aside in a cloud.
The barrier was mainly for large-scale attacks while the vehicle was moving, so it didn't completely touch the ground. It was like armor with a few gaps Leon could exploit.
He crawled inside the hole and easily passed under the barrier. Then, he looked at the cage and took a deep breath.
'It's fine. Even if it's a Tier 2 Abyssal Creature, I can deal with it. The only problem will be space.'
The cage was too small, and if the Abyssal Creature went berserk, he would have little chance of survival.
