Chapter 96: True Reality
Bella complained, but she couldn't hide her smile either. She had gotten close to Natasha in the past week, so she got to know her even better. That was why she genuinely rooted for her.
How could she not be happy at this scene then?
Natasha was also very happy and forgot her bad mood. She hugged him back and said, "I like you extra today. Also, thank you."
Leon just smiled, but inwardly he was thinking about the soft feeling of his hand. Natasha's waist was incredibly soft, as if his hand would sink into it and get swallowed whole.
Not to mention she was looking extremely sexy after removing her long coat. Only now did he understand that she didn't actually dress modestly...rather, that modesty was hiding her seduction below.
She wore a form-fitting red skirt that matched with her black stockings, tied up with a garter belt. A white shirt was tucked into the skirt, which emphasized her round butt, and she had left the upper two buttons open, through which Leon could easily see the deep fair cleavage.
The shirt seemed to barely contain her big jugs. Her whole body exuded a natural charm that could affect any man, yet at the moment this woman's eyes were on him.
It made him feel giddy, especially since he had spent quite some time designing her appearance. She was one of the first few characters he had created, so the love he had for her was on a different level.
Still, there was something important he needed to be careful of.
'Focus. Fast but not this fast. You'll just ruin everything this way. Also, you're saving your first night for Silver. Remember that.'
Bella clicked her tongue when she noticed how both of them seemed to be lost in their own world. She turned around and found Rani talking to Denver about something.
'They both usually don't talk to anyone but have so much to talk with each other. What the hell!? Wait!' Bella thought of a possibility and stared at her best friend for a second long.
'Fuck!' she screamed internally. 'No way my muscleheaded friend is actually falling for someone.'
Bella was speechless as she stared at the two 'couples' and clapped loudly, "Oii! All of you can get a room later, but I'm also here, so you can't shove dog food to me."
"What are you talking about?" Rani asked in genuine confusion, and even Denver had the same expression.
'Yes, this is the best combination. Both dumbasses!!' Bella rolled her eyes and said, "Nothing, but what are we doing now?"
"I wanted to dance with Little Brother," Natasha said with a sad look in her eyes.
"I'm sure this area has another club or at least a place we can have our party," Leon said. "Let's walk. The evening is good, so we can treat the road as our party spot."
"That's a good idea," Bella nodded.
So, the five of them moved down the block while finishing the alcohol bottles they had bought before. Their conversation was relaxed, as they teased each other and had the fun of their lives.
The roads were pretty empty, so they didn't encounter more problems. But Leon knew it was also because of Natasha, who was constantly releasing her charm and convincing people to stay away from them.
It was a scary ability, and Leon was definitely wary of it since he did not really have any resistance toward it. Fortunately, Natasha had no intention of using it against him.
As they changed lanes, they noticed a commotion further down the road and went towards it. They found a blue truck with a Falcon emblem printed on it. There was a big metal cage attached to it.
The vehicle was parked before a three-story house, and a small crowd was already gathered there, looking over everything with various expressions. Some seemed sad, others indifferent, and some were even finding joy.
Leon ignored them and went forward with his group. Soon, the front door of the house burst open, and an Abyssal Creature came out of it.
His muscles tensed up as he almost summoned his axe while his friends also got into stance to fight the Abyssal Creature.
Just as they were about to attack, Leon muttered, "Wait a second!"
He felt something amiss about this Abyssal Creature and soon found the reason when he looked at its full body. His heart shook at that sight, and his friends had the same reaction.
It was actually a woman.
Her body was caught in a state that looked wrong no matter which angle he saw it from. The left side still resembled a woman, pale skin, sharp cheekbones, a faint trace of who she used to be but the right side had already been claimed by corruption.
Jagged scales crawled up her neck, and a short, crooked horn jutted from her temple. Black veins pulsed under her skin like they were alive, spreading further with every beat of her heart.
One arm was still human, trembling as she clenched her fist to hold on, but the other had twisted into a claw with thickened flesh and sharpened nails, dripping faint wisps of dark mist.
She moved unevenly, like her own body resisted her will, each step a fight against the corruption eating her from the inside.
Four officers wearing battle suits along with their artifacts accompanied her from the side. Five more officers in blue uniforms walked a bit further away, with one of them holding a strange compass in his hand.
Under everyone's gaze, the woman who was losing her humanity every second was put in the metal cage.
At that moment, a young boy of around ten years old came running out of the house. His face was filled with snot and tears as he cried out, "Let my sister go! She didn't do anything wrong! She's a good person! Please, let her go!"
Leon's chest became heavy at that sight, and silence reigned in their group. Every one of them was familiar with this process and knew it was already too late.
The woman had already been corrupted to a state where nothing could save her. The only thing the government could do was keep her away from her family so she didn't kill them after turning into an Abyssal Creature.
It was a cruel fate, but this was how the world had been operating for two hundred years.
"She can't be saved," Natasha said, but it was unknown if she was confirming something or just consoling herself.
All of them had seen a lot of cruel sights, but this one was still something that impacted them deeply. It was a possible future for them too.
The boy's parents soon came out as well and pulled the boy away, trying to comfort him, but there was nothing that could help the child.
Even the parents were crying rivers of tears as they looked at their daughter caged like an animal, yet they could only find a faint resemblance of their daughter in that being.
Leon took a deep breath and said in a low voice, "Guys, I said we would go wild today, and I meant it. We are going wild."
As they turned towards him with confused looks, he asked, "Do you want to accompany me to jail? It's actually a fun area that I want to explore. What do you say?"
