My SSS-Rank Dungeon: Reborn In A Reverse World

Chapter 128: Miss Bodyguard

It didn't take a genius to understand the identity of the woman Amber brought, especially since she didn't mind flirting with Leon before her.

She was the bodyguard assigned for Leon's safety by the Academy, but Leon knew Amber definitely used her authority to bring a good bodyguard for him.

That was the reason Leon trusted this bodyguard enough to let her know of their relationship. Amber wouldn't just give this position to anyone, especially after they confirmed their relationship.

Leon smiled seeing the flustered and shocked face of the bodyguard after his words, as she tried to come up with words but ended up speaking nothing.

"Stop bullying her on the first meeting," Amber rolled her eyes and said. "She's a little sensitive when it comes to these matters, but you can trust her for your safety."

To Leon's shock, the bodyguard quickly composed herself and he couldn't find any trace of her previous self. She seemed so professional and well-behaved.

"Hello, my name is Lesley. From today onwards, I'll be staying as your personal bodyguard. Pleasure to be working with you," Lesley said, keeping her straight posture and tone.

"Hello to you too," Leon extended his hand and smiled at her. "Also, no need to be so formal. From the looks of it, we'll be sticking together for quite a while, so it'll be a big annoyance, don't you think?"

Before Lesley could reply, Amber hooked her arm around Leon's neck and said with a smirk, "It's exactly that she's a bashful person and apparently she's your number one fan."

"Miss Amber!" Lesley instantly forgot all about professionalism and cried out. "You don't need to tell him all that. How can I face him now?"

"It's not something you should be ashamed of. Also, I'm just helping you in mingling with my boyfriend. You should be happy." Amber shrugged her shoulders. "I only did it because I like you."

Lesley just crouched down and buried her face in her knees and mumbled something they couldn't understand.

Seeing this grown woman hiding her face in embarrassment certainly amused Leon, but he was also confused by Amber's words.

"My fan? I'm not even some celebrity, so how are you my fan?" he asked in confusion.

Just as Amber was about to say something, Lesley stood up and hurriedly covered her mouth. "Please don't say anything more otherwise I'll die from embarrassment."

Amber put her hand away and said, "I still don't understand why you're hiding it, but whatever. As long as you keep him safe, it's all good."

"I'll do it at the cost of my life," Lesley proclaimed.

Leon and Amber shared a glance before chuckling to themselves. Lesley certainly amused them with her innocence. It was a surprise that such a woman could remain like this despite being at a higher Tier.

"I won't ask for your secrets, but I'm glad to have such a cute fan," Leon smiled and said, extending his hand again. "I still hope we can be informal with each other though. Pleasure in working with you."

Lesley took his hand with a smile and said, "Pleasure is all mine, and I'll try my best to not annoy you. It's just that I don't think I can work around you normally if I'm not in my professional persona. You're just too distracting."

"Oii! You're talking about my boyfriend here," Amber said, but there was no threat in her voice. She was just having fun.

"Ah! I'm sorry! I don't have any other thoughts. I just admire him a lot, so there is no need for you to worry about someone like me, Miss Amber," Lesley hurriedly cleared it up.

'So obsessed with me!? What the hell? How did this even happen?' Leon was speechless and wondered about Lesley's background.

They were meeting for the first time and he also wasn't some celebrity—well, now he was, but it was clear that Lesley's infatuation wasn't recent or shallow like other girls of the Academies.

He could see true admiration in her eyes, which made him wonder if she had mistaken him for someone.

"Anyways, let's leave," Leon said, deciding to throw the matter aside for later. "The Conclave is about to start, no?"

"It's just the usual boring ceremony!" Amber groaned, clearly not in the mood to attend it.

"Are you forgetting what we're doing after the Opening Ceremony?" Leon asked patiently.

"Oh yeah! I completely forgot about it!" Amber's eyes lit up as she said. "Alright, you can leave with Lesley. Join your classmates 'cuz that's the class representing me. I'll be there handling some other stuff."

With that, she stepped back and disappeared. Even in the Academy and at times like these, she used her teleportation so casually.

'What if they thought someone was sneaking in?' Leon thought before turning to Lesley and was left speechless.

She had regained her serious and professional persona. True to her words, she seemed more reliable now, and Leon felt some confidence in his safety.

"Shall we go?" Leon asked.

"As you wish, Sir," Lesley replied in her calm voice.

'Damn the transformation. I can't even see that cute woman in her now,' Leon thought before turning towards Silver.

A look of longing flashed in his eyes as he muttered, "I'll avenge you!"

Then, he left the Dormant Hall with Lesley following slightly behind. Her eyes were steady, but Leon knew she must be using some hidden method to keep track of everything.

'Personal bodyguards are different from the ones Amber assigned previously. They can act faster and also openly,' Leon thought.

He received a text and looked at it.

[Amber: She's from the Wei Clan. Not a direct descendant or anything. She's a retainer they took in during some past incident.]

Leon raised an eyebrow in surprise and wrote in reply. 'A spy?'

[Amber: Not really. The Wei Clan remembers their last mistake. She's there to keep you safe, as Wei Xue wanted this while also trying to poach you in.]

'Interesting!'

[Amber: But they don't know that she's actually obsessed with you, so use it to your advantage.]

Leon shook his head at her words and ignored her for the time. As they walked out of the hall, he found his friend waiting for him at the gates, clad in his black uniform.

"Yo! How you guys doing?" Leon said, as he arrived near them, but they were busy looking at Lesley. "Oh yeah, you can call her Miss Bodyguard."

Lesley nodded at them, clearly not interested in talking to anyone.

They also didn't press on it and after giving a nod, they ignored her. "So, are you guys ready?"

"More than ever!" Natasha said with a smile. "And we all need to thank you for it. Today, we'll show the other Academies why we're from Professor Amber's class."

They didn't talk for long since they were already getting late. Together, all of them went towards the outskirts of the Academy where the famous Stargazing Stadium was present.

Leon had never personally checked it out, but read a few articles. It could only be described as a futuristic stadium for him.

There were seats for more than a hundred thousand people and even more could be accommodated because there were virtual seats.

One could sit at home and enjoy the same experience through the modern technology. There were many other functions like sensory details for the audience.

One could connect their seat to the main arena and experience it in different forms, like feeling the heat there, seeing battles up close in various angles, all live broadcasting.

The arena was the main selling point of a stadium of such level. It could transform into many things to accommodate the battles.

It wouldn't be fake like in virtual battles.

Everything would be real, so that battles were also real.

'The first day will mostly be just showing off. I don't think they'll strike today but let's be prepared anyways. Who knows what goes on in their head?'

Soon, they could see a giant architecture in the distance, its nano-glass walls playing the past battles and legendary feats achieved by the Academy and its students.

There were also many ads plastered all around the stadium walls.

'Well, they do need to earn money they're spending on this Conclave. That's why they even sell tickets for normal people. Not only do they get money, they also get to show off their power. Schemers!'

Various powers were still entering the stadium through hovering cars, while others would enter from other entrances.

'Perhaps the murderer is already inside.'

They didn't enter the stadium right away. Instead, they went to the side platform where many students were preparing to enter the stadium.

The Starlink Academy planned to show all of their students to the world, to let them know how they raised powerful Awakened. How one could become like them by joining their Academy.

This was why the students had a different entry point and, well, it was also because they would be showcasing their prowess to the world and also fighting against other Academies' prodigies.

Soon, it was their turn and the Combat Department entered the stadium, as all eyes fell on them.

Amber Frost's class had entered the Conclave
