My SSS-Rank Dungeon: Reborn In A Reverse World

Chapter 109: Goodbye!

Leon knew why Evelyn broke down, and that's why he didn't continue with his dramatic acts to make her smile. Deep within, he knew she needed to let this out.

So he just gave her the shoulder and support she needed. He didn't stop her, but he gave her the warmth and love to make her believe that he was still there with her.

As long as he was with her, there was nothing that this woman couldn't achieve. Even though she was a crying mess right now, Leon knew how strong his mother was with him by her side.

She could face even the worst situation easily if it was for her children.

When she finally seemed to have calmed down, Leon rubbed her back and asked, "Is it rainy season inside you? Why do you have such a big reservoir of tears?"

Evelyn hit his arm and separated. As Leon wiped her tears, she said, 'What was that?'

"First tell me, what did you experience?" Leon asked in return.

She thought about it for a moment before weaving hand signs, 'The Essence was pure, with no impurities whatsoever, and the density was also much greater than even Tier 3 Soul Shards. It is the Supreme Grade of Soul Shards, in my opinion.'

"What about your soul? How did it affect the soul?" Leon asked eagerly.

'It wasn't much due to my Tier 6 Soul Core, but it would still keep me safe for a few days even if I didn't cultivate.'

"Then, what if you did cultivate all these days?" Leon asked with excitement.

Evelyn smiled and answered, 'It will help me heal my soul. The excessive energy will automatically go toward it. It will be a slow process, but it will heal my soul.'

"What if I can bring even better quality ones with more Essence in them?" Leon asked, excitement palpable in his voice.

Evelyn stared into his eyes and asked, 'First tell me, how much danger do you encounter in getting these?'

Leon cursed under his breath. He knew she would notice it, but why so quickly? He couldn't even lie about it.

"Aiyo! My dear Mama, I won't die. I promise. There is risk, but not enough to kill me," Leon said with a smile. "Just answer my question now, okay?"

Although Evelyn knew he was hiding something, she didn't ask anymore and answered, 'That will naturally heal my soul faster, and once it does, I can level up again properly and…'

She stopped at that, as she couldn't bring herself to say those words even through hand signs. It had been almost twenty years since she spoke, so it seemed bizarre now that there was a chance she might be able to speak again.

"That's all I needed to know," Leon beamed with happiness and stood up. But he didn't leave the house yet. He went to his bedroom and then came back with a small box which he handed to Evelyn.

"There are more of those orbs in this box. They are of lower quality, but they will still help," Leon gave a few more instructions and went to his knees before her.

He held her hand and said, "Keep this a secret and always absorb these in your room. I've asked Amber to give you privacy there. I will also send a few more every once in a while through Amber. Use them well."

Evelyn put her hand on his head and then said, 'Promise me you won't push yourself too hard. I don't want my voice back at the expense of my son.'

"It's more than just about your voice, Mum," Leon sighed, but didn't say anything more.

Ever since the moment he had thought of their enemies using underhanded tactics to turn Evelyn into an Abyssal Creature, his heart had gone cold. He didn't even want to imagine that.

He couldn't do anything about his enemies for now, but he could strengthen his side. Even if that cost him a little slowdown in his progress, he didn't care.

His mother's safety came first and foremost.

Evelyn raised his face and mouthed her words, 'Promise me.'

"Don't force me on something I can't do, Mom, and you know that too," Leon said.

'I know, but it was still worth a try,' Evelyn sighed and said. 'Then promise me that you'll only give the lower quality ones. You will use the better ones for your cultivation. They will be of incredible use to you.'

Leon continued to look at her and knew she wouldn't back down on this one, so he reluctantly opened his mouth and said, "Alright, I can promise you that."

'That's my good son,' Evelyn smiled and said. 'By the way, do you trust Amber that much?'

"I trust my judgment on her character," Leon said. "She's a much more straightforward person than anyone I've ever met. If she wants to do something, she'll do it. If she hates someone, she'll gladly let the whole world know, including that person. I trust her."

'That's good.' Mother Evelyn was very pleased hearing that. 'Now I will wait for you to charm your way into her heart.'

"Is that something you should be saying to your son?" Leon snorted. He wasn't even surprised she noticed it so quickly. She was always like this.

'Yes, I want good daughters-in-law. I already have Silver, but I want more,' Evelyn nodded her head. 'Amber is very good and also suits you.'

Leon smiled at that, kissed her forehead, and said, "I'll be going then before you begin crying again. I can only handle a crybaby once a day."

After lightly hitting him, Evelyn said, 'Take care of Silver there. And also your but…'

Then came a long lecture of how he should be careful and what should be done. If Leon had to say, it was the classic mother's lecture before their children went somewhere.

Leon listened to everything and only then went outside, where Amber was already waiting for them.

After they gave each other a hug, Amber also bid farewell to Evelyn. Then, both Leon and she left the city of Vale in the darkness of the night.

The vacuum train would have dropped them off earlier, but they enjoyed their time together and finally reached the Academy in a few hours.

As Leon looked at the humongous Academy, he clenched his fist and thought, 'It is about to begin. Event 2 which left the Academy in shambles. The event which pushed Amber to her limits. It's beginning!'
