Chapter 105: Rage
Amber knew a lot about him already, including a few things about the dungeon, so Leon didn't ask her to leave the room. He trusted her that much at least.
Besides, she had already seen him sleeping and had even comforted him when he was screaming in pain. He didn't feel like hiding much from her anymore.
But of course, he wasn't going to tell her everything about the Dungeon. It was just a feeling, but he felt he shouldn't tell anyone.
That was why he hadn't even told his mother or Silver.
Leon made himself comfortable in the bed and closed his eyes. He was already quite sleepy after all the running around and playing the whole day, so it didn't take long before his consciousness drifted toward the distant purple portal.
In the next moment, he opened his eyes and found himself lying in the meadows of Salar, just like he had been waking up for the past few days.
Unlike previous times, he didn't even bother moving from his spot. He controlled his hand movements and made his breathing slow and steady.
He wanted to stay in that AFK state as much as possible. He didn't want to move an inch.
'But a little bit might work. After all, the Avatars aren't stable, they move slightly with breathing.'
Still, he didn't want to risk it, so he barely moved at all. He just lay there with eyes closed, enjoying the soft grass pressing against his body, the cool wind caressing his hair, and the sun warming his face.
It was such a serene atmosphere that Leon got amazed no matter how many times he came here.
'Sleep ain't coming.'
He didn't feel even an ounce of drowsiness in this comfortable climate. But he didn't give up so easily.
Leon knew he had to persist this time. He had to persevere and that's exactly what he did. Even though he was getting bored, and many times felt the urge to change position, he didn't move.
An hour passed like that, Leon counting silently in his mind, just to keep track of how long it took before he could exit.
It was when the second hour was nearing that he finally felt the familiar sensation of sleepiness creeping over him.
It filled him with so much happiness he wanted to stand up and dance. But he resisted the urge and focused on catching that feeling.
Fortunately, it didn't run away and instead embraced him fully.
Just then, his hair stood on end as his instincts screamed at him of danger. He couldn't keep himself still any longer and rolled away.
All traces of sleep vanished, replaced by nothing but cold anger that consumed his whole being. His nostrils flared as he opened his eyes and glared at the three-meter-tall monster.
It didn't scare him in the slightest. Instead, its appearance filled him with pure rage.
"You punkass ruined everything!!" Leon roared as the Galactic Baseball Bat appeared in his hand.
The Crimson Rabbit didn't understand his words, but it knew the human before it was angry. Still, it didn't care, it simply lunged at him.
It was one of the rare-spawn mini-bosses of the Crimson Rabbit race. Most of their kind never advanced past the peak of Tier 1.
But occasionally, one fulfilled a series of requirements and became a mini-boss upon reaching Tier 2.
This was one of those monsters, a boss of the Crimson Rabbit Tribe. A Tier 2 monster.
Leon knew all of that and recognized it instantly. But did he care?
Hell no!
All he knew was that two hours of his perseverance had gone to waste because of this monster. All of that effort ruined in a second.
It had interrupted him right when he was at the peak of happiness.
How could Leon not be furious?
"I'll kill you, fucker!" Leon didn't care about the frontal assault from the beast. He launched his own attack.
What followed could only be described as a one-sided thrashing. Leon didn't kill the monster instantly like he claimed...no, he thrashed it mercilessly, smashing his bat into every part of its body.
The Crimson Rabbit screamed the loudest, most agonizing cries he had ever heard from a monster, but Leon didn't stop. He didn't care.
Normally, a mini-boss had a chance of becoming a leader and forming a tribe of its own kind. That was why many Crimson Rabbits would rush toward it.
But this time, all of them turned back and fled after hearing the screeches. Not a single one dared approach.
They all knew they had met a demon.
No… worse than a demon.
Leon only calmed down once the Crimson Rabbit had turned into light particles and began dispersing into the air. What was that in its eyes...gratitude? Relief? Why did this beast look happy?
He couldn't understand, nor did he want to. He simply looked up at the sky and shouted, "Come again with a Tribe, punkass! I'll exterminate your whole race!"
The hiding Crimson Rabbits shuddered and quickly burrowed deeper into their nests. None of them wanted to come out.
Leon took deep breaths to steady himself, muttering, "I'll have to try it all again. Damn it!"
He threw the bat back into his inventory and once again lay on the bed of grass. Closing his eyes, he let nature calm and relax his furious heart.
Once more, he tried to slip into AFK mode. This time, he swore if any monster dared to disturb his sleep, he would first erase their race from existence.
Fortunately, the Crimson Rabbit mini-boss was a rarity, and nothing disturbed him this time.
Two hours passed, though they felt like an eternity. Yet he was happy, because he could finally feel the drowsiness pulling at his consciousness again.
'Yes, finally. I'm safe.'
His consciousness seemed to peel away from his body as it traveled through a strange dimension, drifting closer to the only thing visible there.
A purple portal.
And then, it entered.
'it is time to wake up!'
