My second life as a swordsman

Chapter 5: The Power System

After a short while, everyone entered the classroom, where the teacher was waiting for them. The siblings took their designated seats, and Rial looked around with admiration, trying to focus on what was about to be said. Their teacher, whom they knew as "Master Zeron," was a mysterious and legendary figure. He was well-known for his incredible mastery of spiritual energy. He began speaking, raising his hand, announcing the start of the lesson.

Master Zeron:

"Today, we will discuss the power system of the world of Irafen. You are now in the beginning stages of understanding the fundamentals, but in order to walk the path ahead of you, you must first understand the military ranks and how your power is developed."

The teacher began explaining the concept of ranks and the importance of spiritual energy in determining an individual's standing in the world. He spoke clearly about "energy circles" and how they formed the basis of understanding power in Irafen.

Master Zeron:

"As you may already know, spiritual energy is the key to your strength in this world. But don't think for a second that your power is defined only by the number of circles you can form. Each circle represents a level of control over the energy, allowing you to manage it with greater precision and effectiveness."

He then explained the military ranks that determined a person's power, based on the number of circles they could form. The ranks were as follows:

Beginner:

They have no spiritual energy and cannot form any energy circles.

Ascendant:

They can form one energy circle.

Adept:

They can form two energy circles.

Skilled:

They can form three energy circles.

Proficient:

They can form four energy circles.

Expert:

They can form five energy circles.

Exceptional:

They can form six energy circles.

Legendary:

They can form seven energy circles.

Knight:

They can form eight energy circles.

Royal Knight:

The strongest individuals, capable of forming nine or more energy circles.

Master Zeron:

"Every time you manage to form a new circle, you will rise to a higher rank. But remember, the rank is not just a number—it's a reflection of how you use your energy and control it. It's not the circles that make a hero, but how you wield them in life's challenges."

Everyone looked at the teacher attentively, trying to absorb the information. Rial felt a bit confused, as he had never dealt with spiritual energy before. The concept of forming circles was entirely new to him. Still, his determination to become stronger was growing.

Ella (the third sister):

"I think it will be hard at first, but if we train hard, we can reach the Knight rank in no time."

Allen (the fourth brother):

"But don't forget, advancing through these ranks is not easy. It requires a lot of effort and perseverance. And the ability to form energy circles doesn't come overnight."

Kaito (the first brother):

"But we have the best trainers in the kingdom. We're from the Delfaro family, and if we want to restore our family's glory, we must be the strongest."

Rial:

(Thinking to himself)

"The Delfaro family... our name once symbolized power. But what can I do here? In this world, where it all seems to revolve around these circles and energy?"

He closed his eyes for a moment, imagining if he could ever form his own circles. But the thought felt strange to him, knowing it wasn't going to be easy for him to transition from the time magic he had mastered in his previous life to this new form of spiritual energy.

Master Zeron:

"That's all for today's lesson. You all need to begin your training. I expect to see improvement from each of you. Remember, the circles are not just a measure of your power, but a way for you to control the world around you."

The students left the classroom, each of them lost in their thoughts. Their eyes were filled with excitement, but also tinged with anxiety. The road ahead would be long, but each of them was determined to become the best.
