MY Masochistic CEO

Chapter 195 The Price of Loyalty

She sent a smiling face. "Okay, I have to go to class now. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me."

"Goodbye, Ms. Martinez!"

After I sent the message, Eloise replied. "Next Tuesday, at the Sevan City Opera House!"

Wow, only top-notch people in the industry could have concerts there! Even someone who lacked artistic talent knew that Eloise was young but incredibly talented.

"Do you have time to come and watch? I can reserve two tickets for you," Eloise invited.

Thinking that next Tuesday I should be free, I replied. "Thank you so much. I'll come over then."

"I have to rehearse. I won't talk to you anymore, chat later. (smiling)"

"Then chat later."

I opened the photo of her rehearsal; it was so beautiful that I couldn't help but save the photo to my phone's album.

Switching to my main account, I prepared to pick up Tatiana Camille when Savannah Lee sent a message. "Mr. Maine, the court has accepted the case, and the trial is scheduled for next Monday. Should I send a lawyer's letter to Philip Black?"

That was quite fast. I replied. "Can I get the court summons?"

"Yes!"

"Alright, give me the court summons and the lawyer's letter later!"

Savannah Lee said, "Mr. Maine, are you..."

"The situation has changed. I want to reach a private settlement with him, and you might need to step in later."

"Ah. But didn't you say..."

"Plans can't keep up with changes. Don't worry. I won't skimp on the money that's owed."

"Well, okay."

I closed my phone and drove to buy breakfast for Tatiana Camille. Over the past few days, I have completely figured out her taste preferences.

At 8:30 AM, I arrived at Bay No.1 on time. To my surprise, there was a car parked in Tatiana Camille's parking spot. I took a look at the license plate; it was Steven Walton's Bentley!

Damn it, why is Steven Walton here?

I was in turmoil. Did he come over last night or this morning?

If it was last night, then he must have stayed overnight here!

I hurriedly took out my phone and called Tatiana Camille. On the first call, there was no answer, and on the second one, still no answer!

I wondered, 'Could they be playing a game?'

On the third call, it finally connected, and Tatiana Camille's voice was a bit breathy. "You're here. I'll be down soon."

My heart sank. She was panting, and anyone could tell what that meant!

Suddenly, a scream of "Ah!" from Tatiana Camille came through the phone, which made my heart leap into my throat.

Immediately after, a man's angry scolding was heard. "Tatiana Camille, what the hell do you mean? I came to see you and you're still giving me a hard time? You don't appreciate my concern, do you?"

"Let go of me, you're hurting me!" Tatiana Camille cried out in pain. "Don't pretend to care. You pushed me down yesterday. Do you know how long it took me to get up from the ground?"

"I'm here to see you now, aren't I?"

"Are you really here to see me? You clearly came to mess with me!"

Crying, Tatiana Camille said, "I was in the hospital getting an IV the past two days, and after you pushed me yesterday, I couldn't straighten my waist. Have you ever cared about me?"

"I didn't mean to." Steven Walton's voice weakened, and it was clear that he knew how badly he had behaved.

"Let me rest and recover for a couple of days, please, and my driver is waiting for me downstairs. I have to go first."

Then the call was hung up.

After a few minutes, Tatiana Camille came down, her eyes were a bit swollen, and she got into the car without saying a word.

I didn't say anything but just drove out of the underground garage.

Just as we left the residential area, Tatiana Camille said. "Did you hear all that?"

I nodded. "Yes."

"Then do you still want to be friends with me now?"

I was stunned as I hadn't expected her to ask me like that.

"Hum." She chuckled lightly, with a hint of loneliness and sarcasm in her voice, which pierced my heart.

I held her hand. "Even so, I still want to be friends with you."

This time it was her turn to fall silent. "Do you know what you're saying?"

"I know."

"Then do you know what kind of relationship I have with him?" Her voice trembled a little as she said this. Few people knew about our relationship. And now, she was almost baring her worst side right in front of me.

"I know." I nodded a bit gloomily.

"Then do you know what you will face?"

"I know that too."

"Even so, do you still want to be friends with me?"

"Yes, even so, I, William Maine, still want to be friends with you," I said firmly.

She smiled brightly. "Should I say you're naive or ignorant?"

"Those two words mean the same thing." I also started to laugh.

"You will die."

"We all die sooner or later."

"You're still too weak right now. He could crush you with just one finger."

"That's not necessarily true."

I said, "I admit that I'm not as good as him right now, but in the near future, I will definitely surpass him."

She looked straight at me. "Why exactly?"

"Why what?"

"Why get involved?"

I shook my head. "It's not that I want to get involved. It's that you made me get involved. I've come this far, do you think I can still back out?"

"Keep your distance from me, and you will be fine."

At a traffic light intersection, I stepped on the brake. "But I can't forget the kiss from last night. I can't forget it for the rest of my life."

"Then try to forget it!"

Her face suddenly turned cold. "Take me to the company and you don't have to be my driver anymore."

I sneered. "You're naive. Once I'm of no use, do you think Linda Foster won't fire me?"

"Get fired if you have to. Aren't you fearless now?"

I said, "But this company has someone I care about."

I added in my heart, "besides you, there's also Jessica Lawrence and Melody Wilson."

She pursed her lips. "As expected, younger guys are indeed childish."

But I could tell that she was still in a decent mood.

"What do you care?"

I said, "Anyway, I'm in a dilemma now. I'm determined to be your driver and your friend."
