Chapter 340: Snake Fang! An unavoidable attack
Crack!
The three people were quite intrigued by the sudden crackling sound. It seemed someone stepped on dry leaves or twigs. It wasn't unnatural to hear crackling sounds inside the forest as many beasts were lurking around. They would inevitably step on them.
However, the three simultaneously glanced below out of curiosity, to where they believed the sound was coming from. Coming out from behind a tree, a silhouette registered in their vision.
A person?!
The three thought upon seeing a human-shaped shadow. They looked at each other. Their gazes had a mutual understanding, asking each one of them if none of them noticed the person right below them.
Seeing the frown and surprised expression on their faces, there was no need for any words. It only means that none of them were aware of his presence.
The fuck!
"Who are you?!" One of them asked. His voice carried a cold warning. It seemed it depended on the other party's reply what his fate would be in the next second.
They couldn't believe they failed to notice there was someone right under their noses. Are they so negligent of their surroundings? This was a huge blunder. How could someone sneak up on them?
Eman, the person who came out from hiding, smirked slightly as he gazed at the three people above him. He caught sight of the surprised expression on their faces that disappeared as fast as it appeared.
One of their hands was right behind them. He assumed they were gripping their weapons, ready to attack at any moment.
Eman wasn't in a hurry to open his mouth. Their killing and murderous intent were insignificant to him.
"It isn't important who I am. But I am interested to know about you…"
Right after saying that, they were startled when his silhouette suddenly disappeared from their sight, leaving only his trailing voice in the air.
"Wha—?! Where is he?"
"Be careful!"
One of the three felt a breeze passing his face. Then, a hazy figure registered at the corner of his vision. It seemed like a shadow passed by him. His eyes contracted on that shadow, turning his pupils to the corner of his eyes following the shadow's movement. It happened in just a split second, and the next thing he noticed was an impact coming from the back of his head.
The next thing that registered in his vision were grass and soil.
'What? What had just happened?' His thoughts as his vision started darkening. "B-brother…" he called out to his companion, but that was the last thing he muttered before darkness ruled over him.
The other two who saw what happened, immediately distanced themselves. At this point, they realized that they were dealing with an unordinary person.
There was no way an ordinary person could take down their companion who was a Gold Stage in such ease.
"Bastard you'll pay for what you've done!" Said one of the remaining two. He took a pair of curvy knives from underneath his cloak.
In Eman's vision, he saw their details. The one he took down was a 2-star Gold Stage Sorcerer, the other one was a 1-star Gold Stage Assassin, and the last one was a 3-star Gold Stage Hunter.
The two already took out their weapons. The assassin summoned a pair of curvy dark knives and the hunter took out a bowgun with what seemed like beast bones and a tusks design.
The assassin immediately took action. Purple energy enveloped his weapons. A strong killing intent burst out from him. His figure disappeared suddenly, and in the blink of an eye, he appeared on Eman's side.
"Die!"
SNAKE FANGS!
His attack traveled like a snake crawling in mid-air. The moment his figure disappeared, two purple gleams flashed like snake beams in the air. And the knives, it was as if they were snake fangs aiming to bite his target's neck. It was an attack that was impossible to dodge.
However, what those fangs bit was an empty air.
"What?!"
A disbelief mutter could be heard. The enemy who was standing just in front of him suddenly was nowhere to be seen.
Eman, who was hiding in the shadows, appeared right behind the assassin's back. A white gleam appeared in the air and what followed was a groan.
"Ugh! H-how…" the assassin grimaced as he looked below. There was a glowing white sword pierced through his stomach.
His head reflexively turned behind. He saw the bastard right behind him.
'Impossible…'
He was feared as an elite assassin. He was once a member of the Assassin's Guild. But due to his peerless talent, he was scouted by this organization. With better pay and lawless killings, he found his new job very pleasing and fun. More fun than being in the Assassin's Guild where he was restricted by laws and rules. His new job was a job very suited for him.
From the Silver Stage, it only took him a couple of years to reach the Gold Stage. Thanks to the hefty amount of resources that a talented person like him received from the organization, breaking through wasn't a problem for him anymore. As long as he works hard, the organization would not think twice to invest a large amount of resources in him.
After reaching the Gold Stage, he felt untouchable and unbeatable. That's why, there was no way he was defeated like this.
'Who is this man?' The assassin thought before darkness took over his vision. It was very sad to be defeated by a nameless opponent.
The last remaining person in a dark outfit also couldn't believe that his companions were easily defeated by this stranger.
Initially, he was preparing to attack, but looking at it, this enemy seemed to be not an easy opponent. Taking down two of his companions at ease who were both high-level, wasn't an easy feat no matter how you looked at it. But this person made it look like they were low-level mobs only.
Unlike the sorcerer who couldn't have a chance to defend himself and unlike the assassin who succumbed to his anger and made a blunder, he couldn't make any rash decisions. He needed to figure out his opponent's weakness first.
"Who are you and why are you attacking us?" The hunter asked.
Eman smiled. "You have probably already guessed it, am I right?"
Hearing him, the hunter was slightly taken aback. His voice carried a tenderness of a youthful voice. Since it was dark and he couldn't see his front face, he had no idea of his age. But based on his voice alone, he could tell that his opponent was at a tender age only.
Eman pulled out his sword and turned around, facing the last person.
'No way!'
The hunter exclaimed in mind upon seeing his face. How can such a young man be so strong?!
