Chapter 338: Tremendous hostility
After Zoey fainted, it was already the next day when she opened her eyes again. Someone was right beside her when she woke up.
"Zennie…" Zoey called out weakly upon seeing her sister's face.
"Sis, you're awake!"
Zennie's excited voice reached her ears. She was embraced by her suddenly.
"Y-yes… eh? What happened?" Zoey asked. There was a hint of confusion in her voice.
Zennie released her sister from her embrace and said, "You fainted yesterday while helping the guards protect the Townspeople!"
"Oh, right. I remembered I was in the town square together with the town guards. We were defending the townspeople who failed to hide. The bees were very strong and there was nothing we could do against them. One of the bees came to target me. At that moment, I was certain I was going to die. But suddenly, Eman and Sphin arrived and helped us." She suddenly looked back at Zennie after recalling what happened. "What happened after I fainted?" She asked her.
Zennie opened her mouth. "Eman and Sol worked with the rest of the guards to clean up the rest of the bees that were scattered all over the town. They also investigated the cause of their sudden hostility and evolution."
"Did they learn the truth?!"
"I think yes. They are now talking with our father and the head guard at father's office."
"Is that so? Then I need to hear what they are talking about!"
"Yes yes, but after you eat your meal. You need to revitalize yourself."
"I'll eat after the meeting. Meals are not important right now!" She threw away the blanket, revealing her white skin in her sleepwear. But when she was about to get up from her bed, she suddenly felt weak and her vision shook.
'What? Am I going to faint again?' She thought.
Zennie was quick to notice it and hold her before she fell back to her bed. "Meal is more important, sis," Zennie said to her sister. There was a hint of worry on her face, but Eman told her beforehand that when Zoey woke up, she might be weak and a little dizzy. He also told her not to worry because it was a normal side effect after spending a massive amount of spiritual force.
In the office, as their meeting concluded, Eman and Sol exited the office, but Eman was called out by the town guard head.
"Wait, young man."
Eman and Sol, who had just exited the room, had to stop and turn back.
They saw a person following right behind them. It was the town guard head. The town guard's head was a nearly fifty-year-old man whose hair was a mix of black and grey. The greys were a sign of age. He looked more like a dependable hard-working laborer uncle than a dependable warrior.
"Yes?" Eman's tone was that of someone asking.
"I heard from my men about what you did yesterday. Let me express my deepest thanks to you not only for saving the town but also for saving my men and the lady."
There was no need to introduce themselves because the townlord, Rowan, already introduced them to each other before the meeting. By the way, his name is Lark Note.
Hearing Lark's words, Eman replied. "Glad I could help, but I think it's still too early to think the town is saved," he said with a wry smile.
Understanding Eman's meaning, Lark Note nodded his head. "You're right, the danger is still looming around the town as you said inside…" Lark frowned slightly after saying that.
Looking at Eman, he looked so young. He seemed like he lacked fighting experience. If Rowan and his men didn't mention that it was he who helped them defend the town, he would not believe that Eman was that strong.
Regardless, it doesn't mean that being young means you're weak. It's just that geniuses rarely come. In the great noble families, there were talented children as well, but those kids were closely guarded by their guardians. They would never come to a place far from their home if not necessary. Most of them at such an age were either focused on training or studying at the academy. They were the future pillars of their families, so it wasn't easy to find a young genius walking around. Though not all, most of them were arrogant young masters.
On the contrary, the young man in front of him looked different. He didn't exude the air of an arrogant young man that most youngsters from the great noble family had. He has an air that an ordinary person has. He seemed to be someone you could come close easily or talk with.
"Anyway, I give you my full support. You can command my men if it is necessary. Use them efficiently. Although they are not as strong as you two, they are reliable subordinates. Please, save our town."
After saying that, the town guard head tapped Eman's shoulder and left. Eman was left in shock and disbelief. The trust the town guard headmaster gave to him was very surprising.
Eman's thoughts were interrupted by a long and loud howl.
Everyone in the town heard it. All of them frowned as a chill ran down their spines. It sounded like a howl coming from a graveyard. It was very ominous and eerie.
The townspeople, especially the children, were very frightened.
Sol looked at Eman.
"What was that?"
Eman looked into the distance in the direction of the forest.
"Might be a bad sign."
He could feel a tremendous hostile aura coming from that direction.
As planned, Eman went to visit the academy that day. Seeing him in the clan barracks, everyone greeted him.
Herro told him that the leader of the Red Tyrant Clan agreed to meet him a week from now. He was secretly grateful that they gave him enough time as he had things he needed to do first in the Rothsport Town.
In the evening of that day, all the guards were on duty, patrolling. Eman, on the other hand, went to investigate the forest once again.
