My Love Debts Are Everywhere!

Chapter 746: The Valley of a Thousand Whispers - Part 1

Three days later…

*Whoosh!*

A golden streak shot across the sky—it was Leon, holding Ruri tightly against his chest.

To keep her safe, Leon used his dragon power to shield her from the fierce wind.

Ruri wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing her face into his broad chest.

"So comfortable," she whispered shyly to herself.

Even through his robe, she could feel the solid muscles beneath. The sensation both embarrassed and excited her.

After all, she had never touched—let alone felt—a man's muscles before.

If Leon had known what was going through her mind, he would have been stunned and exclaimed, "Ruri, I didn't expect you to be so naughty!"

Leon quickened his flight to the south. According to Ruri, the Valley of a Thousand Whispers lay at the southernmost tip, and traveling there on foot would take weeks—if not months.

The path was treacherous, with dense forest, steep hills, towering mountains, and countless other obstacles.

The endless ups and downs would make the journey both exhausting and dangerous.

Fortunately, Leon had wings, allowing him to fly endlessly by consuming dragon energy.

Compared to flying with holy power, this was far more efficient.

Three hours later…

*Whoosh!*

Leon descended onto a tree-covered plateau. He gently set Ruri down and asked, "Is the Valley of a Thousand Whispers nearby? Are you sure we're in the right place?"

According to the Dragon Ancestor's story, the Valley of a Thousand Whispers was a mysterious place.

It might look like an ordinary valley, but its atmosphere was dark and silent. Most unnerving of all were the whispering voices that echoed inside one's mind.

If a person's will was weak, they could easily be lured in and lose themselves forever.

The Dragon Ancestor's tales had long painted the valley in Leon's mind as a place of terror.

Yet, as far as his eyes could see, there was nothing like that—only lush trees with leaves swaying in the wind.

From where he stood, the sky was painted with blue clouds and a warm sun, creating a beautiful, peaceful scene.

So, where was the "scary" that the Dragon Progenitor had spoken of?

Ruri shook her head. "The place is indeed around here. However, a barrier hides it from the outside world."

"Oh?" Leon raised a brow. "Are you saying it's hidden inside a special dimension?"

Ruri blinked, taken aback. "How do you know? Have you ever been to our territory?"

She had expected Leon to be confused. After all, the Valley of a Thousand Whispers was extremely hidden and unique.

But to her surprise, he already understood the system it worked on.

Leon chuckled softly and ruffled her hair. "I've never been to your place. If I had, why would I still be asking you for directions?"

His reasonable words caught Ruri off guard. Come to think of it, Leon wouldn't have asked her the way to the Spirit race's territory if he already knew it.

"You may not know this, but the Elven race lives under the same conditions as the Spirit race," Leon explained calmly. "They also dwell in a special dimension to hide from enemies and nearby monsters."

"So that's it," Ruri murmured, nodding slowly as if she understood.

"Alright, enough wasting time. Let's go," Leon urged.

"Okay!" Ruri nodded vigorously.

But just as she was about to take a step, something unexpected happened.

The ground beneath them trembled violently, as if struck by an earthquake.

Leon gasped, pulling Ruri into his arms before quickly leaping back.

Moments later, two massive trolls—each towering ten meters tall—lurched out from behind the trees.

Their bulging bellies hung forward, their skin was a dark reddish brown, and their crimson eyes looked ready to pop from their sockets.

A single horn jutted high from each head, while jagged fangs protruded from their mouths.

But what shocked Leon most was not their appearance—it was the black aura radiating from their bodies.

"Dark… power? How is that possible?" he exclaimed in disbelief.

Dark power belonged to the Evil God and those tied to him, such as members of the Temple of Twilight.

However, Leon had never seen it corrupt animals or monsters like the ones before him.

"What's going on? How can those two monsters have dark power inside them?" Leon asked in shock.

But he had no time to think about the answer—the trolls were already charging toward them.

Leon scooped Ruri into a princess carry, unfurled his dragon wings, and soared skyward in one swift motion.

Ruri let out a breath of relief when she saw the trolls couldn't reach them.

"Ruri, do monsters usually wander around here?" Leon asked, his voice steady but tinged with suspicion.

Ruri shook her head and replied carefully, "No, Fated One. This area is safe—there are no monsters within five kilometers."

"Then why are there those two trolls… and so many others?"

Leon's eyes scanned the ground below. In addition to the trolls, he spotted wind wolves, goblins, orcs, black-fanged tigers, and more.

Every one of them radiated a dangerously oppressive aura. Worse, they all shared the same trait as the trolls—dark power.

Their eyes burned blood-red, and murderous intent poured from them as if they were ready to rip Leon and Ruri to shreds.

This was far from normal. Monsters typically wouldn't attack without a reason, such as hunger.

But the looks directed at him weren't hungry—they were filled with hate, as if some unseen force was controlling them with one goal in mind: to kill him.

"I don't know, Fated One." Ruri shook her head, her expression full of confusion. "Something like this has never happened before. I could swear to that. Could something be wrong?"

In the past, she and her older sister often ran and played in this area, so she was certain it was safe. After all, their father had placed powerful barriers to keep monsters out, ensuring complete protection.

"Alright, I believe you," Leon said in a calm, reassuring tone. "The most important thing now is to wipe them all out."

With that, he removed his left hand from Ruri's thigh, supporting her with just one arm.

He then opened his palm, and the Holy Sword of Zenith materialized in midair.

*Buzz!*

Holy power surged into the blade, causing it to gleam brilliantly. Without hesitation, Leon swung the sword downward, releasing a vertical slash of pure light that hurtled toward the monsters.

*Boom!*

A deafening explosion erupted, flattening everything within a five-hundred-meter radius.

Leon gave a satisfied smile. "Done…"

Ruri: "…"
