My Life with Narration

Chapter 99: Working Dog Huang’s First Day on the Job

"All right, all right, lights ready, model ready, Little Su, you calm Big Huang and make sure it cooperates."

A middle-aged man with a scruffy beard and messy hair was pointing around at everyone present.

The location was a corner of the park, surrounded by mountains, water, and lush greenery, making the area verdant and full of life, with quite a few people gathered around with equipment.

No doubt about it, on his first day at work, the publicity department brought him and Big Huang to an outdoor shoot to expedite progress; he hadn't even warmed the company chair before being taken out.

The person who picked him up was named Wang Zhen, a photographer for the company's publicity department, who also moonlighted as an editor and post-production workload handler. He wore many hats, but for now, he only needed to oversee and review everything.

The main thing was that this company had only been established for a little over half a year, and many departments had just begun to take shape. Wang Zhen's publicity department consisted of only two people, and he was considered the department head.

However, for a newly established company, the publicity department wasn't that crucial, and besides, there weren't many tasks recently, so there hadn't been any expansion in recruitment yet, with all efforts focused on other departments first.

At this moment, the surrounding shooting crew were all hired from other local outsourcing companies for filming this short video for promotional purposes.

There were two models: besides Big Huang, there was a girl in her early twenties with a good figure and appearance, who was getting her makeup done on the side.

The short film required interaction between the female model and the dog, the dog holding a flower basket coming out, followed by some pictures of the girl wearing the company's new clothes and accessories, also needing the dog as a backdrop.

The last dog model didn't have the right camera presence and wasn't cooperative, which had delayed the project for several days.

Now, upon hearing that the company had found a new model, Wang Zhen quickly brought him and Big Huang to the shooting site without a moment's delay.

"Little Su, Big Huang is in your hands for a while, do you need some meat sticks to attract it?" Wang Zhen inquired from the side.

The young lady was a professional model, so shooting this kind of small advertisement wasn't a problem for her; the only uncontrollable factor was the dog, so he was quite worried.

Right now, there were two young ladies helping to tidy Big Huang's fur, while Su Qing was explaining the script to it with the flower basket.

Hearing this, Su Qing looked up and smiled, "Don't worry, Wang, although it's considered dumb among humans, it's a top student among dogs, no problem."

And Big Huang barked in dissatisfaction from the side:

"Woof woof~" [Leave it to Grandpa Dog, you'll see how it goes!]

Upon hearing this, looking at the expressions of both human and dog, Wang Zhen was stunned; he saw an expression of disdain in Big Huang's eyes.

"Wow, this dog is interesting, huh?"

Su Qing:...

"Of course, it's asking you to wait and see."

To this, Wang Zhen laughed twice and didn't take it seriously, thinking it was his own meaning, then laughed, "Alright, then tell it, if it performs well, I'll cover its dog food for the next month."

He then went to notify others to get ready. Taking this chance, Su Qing began to employ a classic workplace pep talk on Big Huang.

"Huang'Er, today is your first day at work, perform well, there will be bread and milk, work hard so I can eat well soon. Then, as long as I have a piece of meat, you will have a bone to chew."

Big Huang: "Woof!!" [No problem, but the bone must come with meat.]

Su Qing: "Of course, high-five on it!"

Saying this, Big Huang lifted its paw and gave him a high-five, astonishing the two young ladies who styled its fur. Could this be the legendary 'man-dog unity'?

Even normal communication between humans isn't this smooth, let alone between a man and a dog.

Especially seeing Su Qing explaining what Big Huang should do first, then next, and lastly, the two girls thought this guy had a screw loose.

They had seen pets in ad shoots before, where people used food as lures on the set to complete the shoot, not talking sense into the dog like this—it was ridiculous!

But soon, they were amazed by Big Huang's performance.

Once everything was ready, the model made her entrance, and Big Huang carried the flower basket with its mouth, running smoothly toward the young lady, following commands exactly without any errors, even showing some improvisation by placing its paw on the young lady's smooth thigh.

Most importantly, Big Huang had a big smile on its face all along, incredibly cute but also very impressive as it had outstanding camera presence, never turning its back to the camera, presenting itself obediently and quietly.

With its cooperation, the shooting progress was incredibly smooth, and the atmosphere on set was very relaxed. Wang Zhen even took a few extra shots for material use.

By two in the afternoon, progress had not only caught up but even exceeded, with just a few more shots needed to wrap up the task.

In a corner of the park, Su Qing sat on a bench under a tree, eating a boxed meal, while Big Huang had nothing but chicken drumsticks in front of it, no rice, its meal clearly several grades higher than his.

"Hahaha, Little Su, I'm telling you, Big Huang is absolutely suited for this line of work. I've been in this business for years, and I've never seen a dog with such a talent for the camera, truly remarkable," Wang Zhen commented, his face glowing with excitement, sweeping away the morning's anxiety.

"It's all thanks to your excellent oversight, Brother Wang; although Big Huang is smart, this was its first time in such a setting," Su Qing replied humbly.

Hearing this, Wang Zhen shook his head, "Oh, just call me Old Wang."

Su Qing:...

He thought that by leaving Nanhe Community, he could rid himself of Old Wang, but unexpectedly, Old Wangs seemed boundless in this world—are there really so many Old Wangs?

"I heard from Little Pang that Big Huang is also an internet celebrity? I know a bit about that too, rest assured, I can't speak for anything else, but if you have any questions about filming techniques, feel free to ask me directly," Old Wang said, patting his chest.

"With Big Huang's performance, once our advertisement is out, I can't guarantee anything about the effect, but people will definitely get in touch to collaborate with Big Huang. The pet market in this field is still huge; I'll introduce you to some connections then," Old Wang promised confidently.

"Thank you, Brother Wang,"

"Just call me Old Wang,"

Su Qing:...

At four in the afternoon, Old Wang drove them back to the company, marking the end of their first day's filming at work.

From the whole day, he didn't know about others, but he felt very relaxed, although Big Huang seemed rather weary.

However, when he returned with Big Huang, the office area was somewhat quiet, nothing like the relaxed atmosphere of the morning.

After sitting down, Sun Mumu curiously approached him and asked, "Didn't Big Huang lose its balls? Why does it seem like it went out looking for a little female dog?"

Upon hearing this, Big Huang immediately lifted its weary head, bared its teeth at Sun Mumu: "Woof~~~" [She's slandering me, she's slandering me!]

But in the next second, it got slapped: "Shut up!"

Big Huang instantly behaved, and then Su Qing replied: "It's nothing, don't mind it, it just ate too many drumsticks and got indigestion."

"By the way, why is everyone so quiet?"

Hearing this, Sun Mumu sighed helplessly and explained:

"Don't mention it, President Shen has been in the company all day today, and she doesn't look too happy, which is terrifying."

"Is Auntie Shen angry?"

As soon as the words were out, the whole department turned their astonished eyes on him.

Su Qing: ???
