My Hitman System

Chapter 216: Mr Sander's Story [2] (E)

"Six years ago, I got to know that my wife had Alzheimer's. Overwhelmed with confusion and anxiety, I talked with several doctors to find a cure for my wife, but the result was the same wherever I went. They all said it was a disease with no cure.

It was at that time that I decided to stop directing and move away from the city to this town. I wanted to spend the little time I had left with my wife in peace in this small town.

Thanks to that, I was able to build quite memorable moments with my wife here. My two daughters came to spend some time with her as well, but that didn't last for long.

As her memory deteriorated, the good moments that we spent with her felt fleeting and not too long after, my daughters stopped visiting as well.

I never blamed them since the agony of being treated like a complete stranger by one's mother would have been a harrowing experience for them. And so, it was just me who stayed with her until the last moments.

At times, I doubted whether what I did for her in her last moments was enough, but when I remember the subtle smile on her lips as she left this world, I gave those thoughts in my mind a rest."

Mr Sander took a sigh when he finished and lifted his head to look towards Jin and Dylan.

Jin and Dylan's gazes now carried great seriousness when they looked towards Mr Sander. They couldn't help but feel sympathetic towards him.

Mr Sander didn't mind those gazes and then went to the next reason, "Now, coming to the last reason-"

"There's no need for it. I'll do the film," Jin stated the next moment.

He didn't doubt in the least that a man who wrote a script in his deceased wife's memories would do a shabby job in directing the film. In fact, he might even push himself to make it the best film he has ever made.

Seeing Jin's reaction, Mr Sander smiled but still insisted, "It's good that you've agreed, but I would still like to inform you about it."

"Thirdly, I've come into contact with a nonprofit organisation that takes care of Alzheimer patients who have been abandoned by their family members. They have agreed to be one of my early sponsors. So, I'll be using the film as a medium to collect funds for that organisation,"

Mr Sander stated his intentions.

By now, both Jin and Dylan were filled with great respect for the man who was sitting in front of them.

"Mr Sander, I'm sorry for doubting you earlier," Jin said from his heart.

"Don't be. You were right in your place, so it's not a big deal at all. Now that we have both agreed, let's decide on the filming date. By when do you want to start filming?" Mr Sander asked.

"I've got nothing going on, so whenever you want," Jin stated.

"Hmm, alright. It would be great if I had all the supporting characters by now, then we could have started shooting tomorrow, but it's taking some time.

How about this, I'll contact you when I've found all the actors, which should take at most a month or two and then we'll start working on the film."

Mr Sander told Jin and Dylan.

Hearing this response, Jin pursed his lips as he really didn't want to wait for that long. It was at that time that Dylan butted in.

"Mr Sander, I assume that the reason you're not getting supporting characters quickly is because of your long absence, right?" Dylan asked.

"Indeed, if not for that, all those roles would have been filled by now. I'm not even looking for great actors for these roles, just actors who are good enough to do those roles would also suffice," Mr Sander said with a sigh.

"Then how this. With the help of my agency, I'll spread the word that Jin is planning to work in your next film and with that as a base, I believe you'll be seeing a rush of new applicants," Dylan said with a smile.

Both Jin's and Mr Sander's eyes glimmered when they heard this.

"That's a great idea! Then I'll be depending on the Blue Horizon Agency," Mr Sander said, impressed by Dylan's quick thinking.

"Then we'll do that, so when will the contract signing take place?" Dylan asked.

"Give me two days and I'll send a revised contract to you by mail. With Jin's acting skill, I would need to raise his payment by a set percentage and also his share in the final movie's profits," Mr Sander said after a second.

"Great, we'll be leaving then," Dylan shook hands with Mr Sander, Jin did the same, and the two of them finally left his house.

"Even if his mentioned prize is low, accept the contract, alright? He must be using all the money he had saved for this film," Jin muttered.

"We'll do that then. The film's going to be a hit anyway," Dylan grinned. The loss from the initial payments could be paid by the final profit percentage, so the agency won't frown upon him for making such a deal.

The two walked a few hundred meters through the streets of the town. There was a water fountain built at the city centre which, although very old, still worked perfectly.

Its delicate craftsmanship made one want to take a picture next to the fountain as a relishing memory, and that's what Jin did after a thought.

"Take a few photos of me, please," Jin passed his phone to Dylan and rushed to stand next to the fountain. "I'll be uploading it on my social media, so be sure that the photo is a good one."

"What for? You haven't uploaded your social media account in ages," Dylas asked in a confused manner.

"To help Mr Sander get those actors quicker," Jin stated his intentions the next moment and it all started to make sense to Dylan.

"Say no more," Dylan said and took quite a few pictures of Jin to choose from.

The two of them soon made their way to the van and finally left Marima town.

In the van, Jin edited a few pictures which he liked amd finally uploaded them on his social media platform with the caption, "Look at this gorgeous water fountain which I found after discussing the details of my next film 'Fading Away' with the director. Pretty, isn't it? I just can't wait for all the supporting cast to be selected so that we can start filming immediately,"

After sending the post, Jin showed it to Dylan, who couldn't help but nod in a satisfied manner when he read the caption and saw the number of likes on Jin's post increasing to a thousand in less than a minute.
