My Hitman System

Chapter 196: Goodbye (E)

"It's like this, you just need to act like you're an average assassin and do the bare minimum missions. On my end, I'll make your report look like you've only managed to clear the Marksmanship test," Brown explained without refraining.

"...And what do I need to do for you in return?" Jin asked the next moment. He was clear with the fact that there are no free lunches in this world.

"Join me," Brown grinned and continued, "In my ten years of working as an instructor in this academy, I've given this proposal to only three people based on their potential.

They are all now Rank 7 assassins in the organisation, with their actual rank being much beyond Rank 5.

Even so, out of all of them, you're the one who amazed me the most. In them, I saw a large potential, but in you? The only thing I see is a finished product.

I've only met with a few Rank 2 assassins in the organisation, but with your skills, I believe you would be able to easily beat them all.

From my words so far, you would have somewhat guessed what my true motive is.

Even so, I'll phrase it properly for you so you have the big picture in mind.

I want your help in not only obliterating the higher-ups of this organisation but also the group that funds them. So tell me, would you join me?"

Brown finally asked.

"Would you even let me live if I refuse to join you at this point?" Jin asked with a snort.

"I won't," Brown admitted with a wide grin.

"And how are you going to kill me?" Jin asked with a glare and tried to intimidate Brown.

"You'll know once you refuse my offer," Brown plainly stated with the same grin plastered on his face. He wasn't the least bit intimidated by Jin's provocation.

Jin continued to glare at Brown with the intention of seeing through his plan, but failed in the end.

Finally, with a sigh, he said, "I'll join."

"Good choice." Brown took out a 5 ml vial from his pocket and passed it to Jin. "Drink it."

"What's this?" Jin asked with a frown.

"I had laced the door handle, which you grabbed while closing the door earlier, with a contact poison.

In thirty minutes, the symptoms will start showing, and in about two hours, you'll be dead.

If I were you, I would have drunk the antidote in that vial by now instead of asking stupid questions," Brown stated nonchalantly.

A chill ran down Jin's spine when he heard Brown's words.

He was totally caught unaware by this sudden revelation as his whole body numbed from the shock.

However, Brown's words soon woke him up from his stupor, and he immediately gulped down the contents inside the vial.

After finishing it, he glared venomously towards Brown because of his devious actions.

Understanding Jin's gaze, Brown just shrugged his shoulders and said, "Don't blame me, but yourself for being too strong. I wouldn't have resorted to poison if I could have easily beaten you."

With that said, Brown took out surgical gloves from his pocket and put them on to wash the door handle with another chemical.

The lingering traces of the poison were soon removed.

'I shouldn't be too overconfident just because of the system…if Brown hadn't told me about the poison, I would have never known about it…If he had any ulterior motives, I would have clearly died without even knowing the cause of it…'

These thoughts were going through Jin's mind while Brown was busy wiping the door handle clean.

Looking towards the carefree Brown, Jin couldn't help but clench his fist tightly.

Although he had joined hands with him now but the sense of irritation which arose from almost dying by his hands didn't go away easily.

"As an assassin, one can never be too careful," Brown lightly chuckled when he was done, and after discarding the items, he passed something to Jin.

"For now, I don't expect you to do anything for me, but on 25th February, 2026, I'll be waiting for you here." Brown took out a wrinkled paper from his pocket and gave it to Jin.

Jin looked at the blank piece of paper with a few numbers written on it. They were the coordinates of a place.

'52.4792° N, 62.1858° E'

Below that, a time was scribbled, '5:00 AM'

"Where is this place?" Jin asked while frowning.

"It's a specific place in Roscosta. Our mission will officially start there. Any other doubts?" Brown asked.

"Yes, what about my Shadow and the rest?" Jin asked.

"They'll still need at least three years to reach Rank 5. By that time, we would have already killed the executives, so they won't face any problems.

Just tell them to keep your achievements under wraps for special reasons, and you're good to go," Brown explained, knowing that their team bonding was quite strong.

"Understood," Jin nodded and soon left to pack his bag.

A while later, after everyone had finished their lunch, they hopped inside the SUV, and Brown drove them to the village named Fakir, which was around fifty kilometres away from here.

"If you're lucky, we'll meet again," Brown chuckled as he pressed on the accelerator and left the scene, leaving a huge trail of dust.

COUGH! COUGH!

'I should have known he would do this!' Jin thought in irritation while coughing along with the others.

"That bastard!"

"That's a fucked-up way to send us off."

Both Specy and Shadow were also filled with irritation, while Ice expressed it through her glare.

Soon, they turned to face the village from where they had started their journey three months ago.

"Those three months feel like a year now…" Ice muttered when she saw the familiar village.

"Indeed." Jin nodded.

They soon entered the village and got their vehicles from the villagers.

Kalam, the guy at whose place Jin had spent the night before, asked, "What about the other people? When will they arrive?"

Jin handed a bundle of notes to Kalam and said, "Thanks for taking care of the car. The rest had decided to abandon their cars, so the villagers could just keep them or scrap them."

"T-Thank you," Kalam said gratefully as he looked at those notes.

Jin smirked and patted him goodbye.

Outside the village, four cars soon stopped at a previously decided spot.

"So you'll be going back to Valeyria now?" Shadow asked Jin under the curious eyes of Ice and Specy.

"In a few days. I have some things to take care of here," Jin said as his eyes subconsciously narrowed.

Understanding the implication behind his words, Shadow asked while gesturing towards the other two, "Want us to lend you a hand?"

Specy and Ice too nodded in agreement to show their readiness.

"Thanks for the offer, but it's something I need to do alone," Jin politely rejected their offer.

"Alright, but if there's anything you need our help with, be sure to contact us through the chat group. That's why we've created it in the first place," Shadow said while showing his phone's screen to Jin.

"I'll keep that in mind," Jin replied with a smile.

In the SUV earlier, they had created a private chat group to keep in touch with each other.

"So before we all separate and go our way, let's shout out our group's name," Specy grinned and placed his hand forward.

"Come on, bro, that's so embarrassing," Shadow complained, but still placed his hand over Specy's the next moment.

It was soon followed by Ice, and finally, the three of them turned towards Jin with a smile.

Jin snorted with a grin on his face and stepped forward to place his hand over Ice's.

With an amused and excited expression, Specy finally began, "Who's going to turn the world upside down?!"

"THE CRAZY FOUR!"

They all raised their hands together the next moment.

"God! I feel so embarrassed…" Shadow muttered.

"The more embarrassing it feels, the more fondly we'll remember it," Specy grinned and patted Shadow's back.

Jin and Ice too nodded at his words while chuckling as they all soon got in their cars and started moving in a convoy-like fashion.

"Goodbye, everyone!"

A few hours later, when they arrived at Umroi, they all left in different directions after a final goodbye.
