My Girlfriend Is So Beautiful, But She's an Assassin!

Chapter 70: Anindya's Homemade Cooking

After 15 minutes of storytelling, Julian finally finished.

"... And finally, I was helped by your bodyguard—and cured by Ms. Lavendina," Julian said, his voice gradually fading as he saw Anindya watching him with a happy expression and a deep gaze.

Julian's cheeks flushed slightly at Anindya's expression.

"So cute..." Julian thought to himself, his expression awe-inspiring.

"Is that all, then?" Anindya asked.

"Y-yes" Julian replied, coming to his senses.

Anindya closed her eyes.

"Hmm~..."

Anindya turned toward the dining table. Then she took a plate, then red rice, then two medium-sized pieces of wagyu rendang, one piece of spicy grilled chicken, and red bean soup. Finally, she grabbed a spoon and fork. She arranged everything neatly on the plate. Then, she pushed the plate toward Julian—which surprised him a little.

"Here, eat first, so the healing process will be faster" Anindya said with a sweet smile and a gentle tone.

"O-okay" Julian said.

Julian took the plate, then looked at its contents, then looked back at Anindya.

"There's no poison or sleeping pills in this, right?" Julian asked with a suspicious expression and a mischievous tone.

Anindya froze for a second—then her eyebrows shot up.

"Eh?!"

Anindya leaned forward slightly, her expression immediately turning into a frown, and her hands clenched into fists at her chest.

"What makes you think that, huh!?" Anindya asked in an annoyed tone.

"Yeah, You're an assassin, who knows? You'd put sleeping pills in there, then kidnap me and take me to your house—to torture me" Julian replied with an awkward expression and tone.

"Pinch!" Anindya pinched Julian's right cheek with her left hand.

"WHAT KIND OF GIRL DO YOU THINK I AM—TO DO THAT TO MY OWN BOYFRIEND, HAH!?" Anindya asked angrily, pulling at Julian's pinched cheek.

"OUCH! OUCH! OUCH! I-I WAS JUST KIDDING, KIDDING!!!" Julian shouted.

Sekar, who was in the living room watching a drama on TV, couldn't help but laugh at their argument.

Anindya released her pinch from Julian's cheek, then folded her arms across her chest and turned her pouting face to the right.

"Hmph! Don't joke like that again! Or I'll get really angry and never want to see you again!" Anindya said in annoyance.

"Eh?! D-don't say that!" Julian said, panicking.

Anindya didn't answer—she just snorted. Seeing this, Julian tried to find a way to calm Anindya's anger.

"Okay, okay, I'll eat your cooking" said Julian.

Julian immediately cut a piece of rendang meat, mixed it with rice, scooped it up, and began to put it in his mouth.

"Aamm~"

Anindya, who was furious, peeked out of her left eye and stared at Julian as he chewed.

"How does it taste?!" Anindya asked, her tone still angry.

Julian continued chewing, savoring the texture and flavor of the meat. After chewing five times, Julian finally swallowed his food.

"Gluk!"

He then looked at Anindya.

"Wow, this is delicious! The meat is tender and the spices are rich and intense" Julian said with an amazed expression, staring at the plate he was holding.

Anindya, who had been angry and sulking, suddenly changed her expression to one of happiness. She leaned forward again, her hands balled into fists again—level with her chest.

"Eh? Really?" Anindya asked, her expression sparkling—even her eyes widened with hope.

Julian was a little surprised.

"This girl, her personality changes so quickly" Julian thought to himself with an awkward expression.

"Yes, really. It's delicious. Did you make it yourself?" Julian asked.

"Yeah~, Auntie wanted to help too, but I said no, because I wanted to cook it myself—to make it special, so Auntie's just lending me the kitchen" Anindya replied.

"Heee~, I see, so you really can cook, huh?" Julian said, impressed.

Anindya stepped back, put her hands on her hips, raised her head, and snorted.

"Hmph! Of course, I told you I could cook!" Anindya said arrogantly.

Julian smiled at Anindya's cheerful demeanor.

"Okay, okay, it's my fault. I'm sorry I said you couldn't cook before," Julian said.

Anindya looked back at Julian.

"Hahaha, it's okay, as long as you really enjoy my cooking now, hehe," Anindya said cheerfully.

"Thanks again for cooking for me," Julian said with a gentle smile.

"You're welcome, a woman should cook for her man" Anindya said with a cheerful smile.

Hearing that, Julian felt a little warm inside. He smiled and said

"You should eat too. You probably haven't had anything since you got back from school, right?"Julian asked.

"Hahaha, you're right," Anindya replied with a chuckle.

"Okay, I'll get some food for myself" Anindya continued.

Anindya started to get some red rice, then a piece of wagyu rendang, and some red bean soup.

"Why don't you get some chicken too?" Julian asked.

"No, I'll get fat" Anindya replied.

"Why? If you get fat, you'll look cute, and your cheeks will be adorable" Julian said mischievously.

"Moo! Julian. I don't want to get fat because it'll be difficult to move around on missions!" Anindya said in an annoyed tone.

Julian fell silent after hearing that—letting Anindya take her food first. When she finished, Anindya looked at Julian, who was still chewing. They both enjoyed their meal.

When their food was almost gone, Julian began to ask questions.

"Anindya, what is your real purpose in becoming an assassin?" Julian asked.

Anindya stopped eating and placed her plate on the carpet.

"Will you still love me if I tell you?" Anindya asked.

"Of course" Julian replied with a serious expression.

Anindya glanced at Julian, still hesitant.

"But, let's make a pinky promise first, shall we?" Anindya asked.

"Okay!" Julian replied.

Anindya raised her left pinky finger and Julian raised his right pinky finger—then the two slowly interlocked them. As soon as their fingers interlocked, the atmosphere suddenly turned silent. Anindya—now looking at Julian with a serious gaze.

"Promise me..." Anindya whispered with a smile and a soft tone.

"You won't hate me... or stay away from me" Anindya continued.

Julian looked into Anindya's eyes with a serious gaze.

"Promise!" Julian replied firmly.

Anindya took a breath and wiggled her pinky finger—which was linked with Julian's.

"Promise~ Promise~ must be kept~, if they aren't kept, the pinky finger—" Anindya said in an adorable voice.

Anindya stopped talking—because she saw Julian wasn't joining in.

"Julian, you have to speak too" Anindya said.

"Eh? Why?" Julian asked, confused.

"Isn't it obvious? We have to swear together. If I'm the only one speaking... then I'm the only one bound by this promise" Anindya replied.

"Sigh, okay" Julian said resignedly.

"Okay, let's get started," Anindya said enthusiastically.

"Promise~ Promise~ must be kept~, if they aren't kept, the pinky finger of the person who breaks it will be cut off~" they both said.

"That sounds terrible... but never mind, I can't possibly hate her anyway" Julian thought to himself.

After they finished saying that, they both unlinked their pinky fingers.

"You're just like a child" Julian said with an awkward smile.

"Let it be, so you don't break the promise!" Anindya said irritably.

"Okay, okay, whatever~" Julian said resignedly.

"Then please tell me, Lady Anindya" Julian continued with a smile.

Anindya took a breath.

"Okay, I'll keep it short" Anindya said.

Julian nodded.

"Actually... my family is hunting an international criminal named Dark Baboon" Anindya said.

"Dark Baboon?," Julian asked, tilting his head in confusion.

"What crimes did they commit?" Julian continued.

Anindya closed her eyes, then opened them shortly after.

"Their crime is Human Trafficking!" Anindya replied with a serious expression.
