Chapter 611
Anton gaped at Cedon, but if he was being honest, he half expected that something like this would happen, and thankfully, he pre-emptively spread the information that he could only create one summoning tablet a month.
Unfortunately, it seemed like the higher-ups did not believe that information. As a matter of fact, he could easily create three summoning tablets a day by spending just an hour on it, but he did not want to seem like he was a pushover.
"Impossible! I can only create at most three tablets a month!"
"Fine, fine. Here's 20,000 gold coins. Just create one tablet a day," Cedon did not wait for him to reply and immediately went out of Anton's apartment.
He would have complained more, saying that he earned 50,000 to 80,000 gold coins in mana stones and items when delving the dungeons per day, and he was only helping Mendoza because he truly wanted to get back to the Undead Coalition, not because he wanted some monetary compensation. The main reason why he wanted to say that was to make them feel guilty. Anton was aware, though, that the higher-up probably wouldn't care. If he were in their shoes and my kingdom were being attacked, he would not care either.
If Anton was being serious, he could create the three summoning tablets per hour, so he decided to make six of them for the next two hours; he didn't have to bother for the next six days and would just give one every day to Cedon.
Thankfully, he could make the enchanted tablets inside his system, so even if the mages of Mendoza were malicious enough to spy on him, which he truly didn't believe they would do so for some measly tablets, no one would know how many he could truly create in a day. Whenever he made enchanted items, he always did so inside his Diablo II system, so that in case there was an accident, like the items exploding, no one would be affected.
After Anton was done making six dire wolf summoning tablets, he switched to leveling up his ladder Paladin and only stopped for brief moments to eat or relieve himself. At around six in the evening, he was happy to see that his ladder Paladin had leveled up from 40 to level 60. Based on his experience, if he concentrated on leveling up the Paladin character, he might reach the maximum level in two or three days.
He spent the next hour writing letters to his father and sister. In the letters, he wrote his daily experiences since he started in Ormunda and the experiences that he had over the last two days. He did not sugarcoat the power of the Undead Coalition. The purpose of his doing so was for his family not to worry about him, but for his father and his sister to face the reality that his theory about the undead might come true and that they would need to prepare.
Regarding the other members of the family and the entire Rose Manor, he would leave it to his father to decide what information to share with them.
After finding someone to help him send the letters to his family in Ormunda, Anton finally went to sleep.

When he woke up, he prepared himself and then headed directly to the magic arrays to confront the undead army that night. He was hoping that the summoning tablets he gave his previous squad would help keep them safe.
The undead horde was still as fierce compared to the previous night, and Anton was still baffled as to why the undead were doing these mindless attacks. Anton's action that night was the same as what he did the night before. He cast his spells like clockwork. He summoned his minions to defend the warriors of Mendoza, and that was it. When the last attack of the night from the undead was over, Anton immediately gave a tablet of dire wolf summoning to Cedon and headed directly home.
After he ate a quick breakfast, he focused on leveling up his ladder Paladin character. He did so mostly because he felt a nagging worry growing inside of him. The Undead Coalition was not a mindless organization. As a matter of fact, they were extremely cunning and had already shown their intelligence to the world by successfully conquering the most powerful kingdoms in Rendindura.
So after his shift, Anton focused on his ladder Paladin and only took quick breaks as necessary. By the time he stopped so he could rest for the day, he successfully leveled up his ladder paladin to level eighty-eight and was sure to reach the maximum level by the next day. He had already prepared the next item he would transfer from the game to the real world. It was a crafted boots called Carrion Shank Demon Hide Boots. The boots would give him a twenty percent faster run, slash walk, ten percent faster hit recovery, an additional forty to mana, regenerate mana by eight percent, and resistance to Cold plus ten percent and resistance to Poison by eight percent.
When he woke up for his shift that night, Anton immediately went to his assigned location and waited for the undead to attack. He wondered if his life for the next several months would be the same. Doing his things during the day and at night would cast his most powerful spells against the undead. He could not believe that the wizards of Mendoza had been doing the same thing for almost three weeks. If it were him, he would have truly urged them to attack the undead at its source just to end the stupid, mindless, nightly attacks.
Unfortunately for Anton, he was new and had been doing the defense job for just three nights. His voice was much too small to urge anyone of anything.
After his shift ended, Anton gave another tablet to Cedon and returned home immediately. He wanted to start leveling up his ladder Paladin so he could transfer the powerful boots from the game to reality. When he arrived at his apartment, he was surprised to see that there were a couple of letters for him from home.
They were very long letters. Anna's letter basically told him of stories that happened to his sister inside the magic academy. The stories were so idealized that they almost resembled the experiences that Harry Potter and his friends in the books. He realized that his sister wanted to provide him with those stories so that he could take his mind off the gruesome attacks of the undead. He would have preferred for Anna to tell him what was really happening at home and her true experiences, because if he really wanted to take his mind off the attacks of the undead, his Diablo II system could provide him all the entertainment he would need.
Anton still appreciated his sister's concern about his mental health. His father's letter was much more informative. Anders shared with him the manor's current state. The gardens and the orchards were still producing mana-borne flowers and fruits since the last time they received Mana Rain was before he left for Ormunda, which was less than a couple of weeks ago. That meant that there were still several weeks before they reverted to ordinary fields.
The cinema was a huge success that eclipsed the earnings of the flower shop and the shop that sells the products that came from the orchard, but they all expected that to happen. The most surprising thing was not only that the mundane citizens of Ormunda flocked to the cinema, but a lot of wizards as well.
