My Favorite Game Followed Me!

Chapter 610

Captain Leonard and all the other members of Anton's previous squad gaped at him.

"We can't accept those tablets, Anton. The tablet made of gold is valuable enough, and if you include the summoning enchantment, they can be considered treasure," Captain Leonard said quietly, and even the others who, for a moment, were greatly excited at the thought of having a summon that would assist them in their battle, realized that it would be a great imposition on him.

Anton knew that most decent people, especially the capable ones like his previous squad, would not want to receive charity.

"You can buy them for me then for 100 gold coins each. You can pay in installments. Captain, can you collect the payment from everyone? 10 gold coins each month would suffice, and you can give me the whole payment once you've collected enough," Anton told the Captain, with the others hearing his suggestion.

Everyone looked at each other, then at their captain, while Captain Leonard kept staring at Anton. After a minute of introspection, the captain finally replied.

"Thank you, Anton. We'll accept. I'll make sure everyone pays," Captain Leonard said, accepting the responsibility of getting the payment from everyone.

Anton could see that everyone understood the price for the tablet was so low that it was almost free, but then again, Anton was their comrade. Even if he was transferred to the mage squad located in the center section of the western wall, he was still part of their group, and each one of them knew that their survival might hinge on trusting each other; in a way, Anton was perpetuating that trust.

After the captain's agreement, everyone went outside while Menard was tasked to call the three women, Mauri, Fran, and Suvina. When they arrived, Anton started teaching everyone how to use the tablet, which was as simple as turning on a switch. Anton never did find a way to have another option other than a switch to turn on the enchanted items that he created.

"Since they don't defecate or produce any bodily waste, since all the things they eat are converted to mana, they would remain clean, but washing them is still a good idea," Anton said.

"That meant that we can let them stay in our beds! Nana is so cute!" Suvina said while petting her dire wolf, which remained stoic.

Suvina already named her Dire Wolf, but then again, Anton saw that everyone else did the same thing.

"Even if you can't let them stay near your bed, you can just command them to stay outside, and they will remain there until you need them. They will not go out and explore like ordinary animals, since I've mentioned several times, they are mana constructs. Now, regarding feeding, based on my family's experimentation, if you don't feed them for a long time, they will grow smaller until they just disappear. That meant that the mana that held them together dispersed, but once you feed them, they will revert to their original size."

Everyone listened to what he was saying, but Anton noticed that only Captain Leonard was taking notes regarding the information about the Dire Wolves summoned from a tablet. Everyone else's attention was on their wolves, either petting them like the women were doing or examining them.

Anton knew that it didn't matter since the Captain would make sure that everyone understood what they needed to do regarding the wolves.

"Again, guys. If they die in battle, they will just disappear. If they get damaged, they will heal once they eat, and as I mentioned, they can eat anything, including the corpses of the undead. If you have questions regarding the wolf, you can send a message to me," Anton told everyone.

"If they die, and we wanted to buy more tablets for you to summon them again, can that be done?" Captain Leonard asked.

"Yes. But I'm not sure that they will be the same ones as before. To be honest with you, based on my experience, the summons doesn't have any personality. They all looked and behaved the same way," Anton shrugged.

"That's not true at all! Look at my Minu, she's more playful than Suvina's Nana," Mauri said.

Anton looked at Mauri's wolf, and it was behaving stoically, just like the others, so he just rolled his eyes.

"Captain, if somebody asks regarding the wolves, you can tell them that I made the enchanted items that summon them, but I can only make them once a month. Tell those who wanted to know that the reason I was able to give each one of you one tablet is that they were the ones left in my inventory. If someone is really interested in purchasing one, you can tell them that it's 2000 gold per tablet, or 1000 if they brought gold with them as the material for the enchanted tablet," Anton told Captain Leonard, but he could see that just like the others, the captain's attention was also on his wolf.

Soon, a lot of people gathered since ten dire wolves were considered to be a huge pack already and were highly noticeable. The gathering people noticed that the wolves were calm and were being petted by Captain Leonard's Squad. After a few minutes, other captains arrived and threw questions at Captain Leonard.

Anton knew that more than likely, a true higher-up would arrive, so he signaled the Captain that he was leaving, and he escaped from there hurriedly. He did not want to be bombarded by requests for a Dire Wolf summon.

He knew that it was inevitable that people would request the summoning tablets, and Anton felt that it was a good idea for him to indicate that he could only make them once a month. He didn't want to spend the majority of his day crafting magic items.

When Anton was back in his apartment, he made himself comfortable in his bed after eating, intending to spend a lot of time leveling up his ladder Paladin character, but once he was about to start, he heard knocking on his door. He knew that it was probably someone important because not anyone would disturb a wizard who was placed in that luxurious building.

Anton went to his door and opened it, and was surprised to see Supreme Cedon.

"Anton, everyone heard that you can craft a summoning table that can summon one of your dire wolves!" Cedon said.

Anton invited the young supreme wizard inside his apartment. He was a little surprised that the news traveled so fast. He just came back from the barracks where his previous squad was assigned.

"Yes, I made them, but as the wolves that came from the summoning tablets would be weaker than my actual summons and would probably immediately die if they faced the horde that we face every night," Anton told Cedon.

"That was because you told your summons to do everything in their power to save the warriors, and they behaved like berserk barbarians. I was told by an observer that the wolves from your tablets were extremely obedient and would obey the commands given to them to the letter! That meant that if the master was careful, he or she could make sure that the wolf did not die. Based on what the observers had seen, expect that a lot of people would order a tablet from you. They're 2000 gold coins each, right?"

"Yes. But I did state that I can only make one per month."

"No one believes that! The higher-ups tasked me to tell you that you need to produce three tablets a day. We will supply the gold you need to craft the items, and we'll pay 1000 gold coins for each tablet."
