My Beast is really not an evil god

Chapter 7: The First Beast(3)

Sein's eyes lingered on the small dark dog with a compatibility of 97%. The choice was clear—it was the one he wanted. Even a child could choose between 76% and 97%.

He turned toward Prof. Adam, who stood a little distance away, and walked over.

"Have you chosen?" Prof. Adam asked, noticing Sein approaching.

"Yes, Professor," Sein replied.

"Oh? Which one is it?" the professor inquired curiously.

"It's the dark dog," Sein said confidently.

"Hmm, a solid choice," Prof. Adam nodded in approval. "In addition to its excellent hunting instincts, as a dog-type beast, it possesses unparalleled loyalty to those it recognizes. Once bonded, it won't betray you."

"So, have you chosen one among them, or would you prefer a random one?" Prof. Adam asked.

"I've chosen," Sein replied confidently, pointing toward the small black dog with 97% compatibility.

"Are you sure about that?" Prof. Adam raised an eyebrow. "I think an adult one might be a better choice. While this pup will grow faster after bonding with you, it will need time to develop its fighting prowess. A mature Dark Dog, on the other hand, already has those abilities developed."

"Yes, I'm sure," Sein replied confidently, his tone leaving no room for doubt.

"Alright then," Prof. Adam said, nodding. With a quick gesture, he pointed toward the little pup. A soft click echoed through the dome as a small section of the barrier surrounding the Dark Dogs opened. The pup was gently lifted by an invisible force, floating through the air toward them.

The other Dark Dogs reacted immediately. Growling menacingly, they bared their fangs, their eyes fixed on Prof. Adam with visible hostility. Their leader—a large, imposing dog with sleek, jet-black fur and a muscular frame—stepped forward, its deep growl resonating like a warning.

Prof. Adam remained calm, placing one finger on the side of his head as if listening to something only he could hear. The Dark Dog leader whimpered a few times, its posture shifting as if understanding something. After a long look at Sein, the leader huffed and retreated, turning back to its pack without further aggression.

"They've accepted it," Prof. Adam said, lowering his hand. "Although Dark Dogs are solitary beasts by nature, they are protective of their young. I had to explain the situation to their leader; otherwise, they might have caused a ruckus over this."

Prof. Adam nodded approvingly. "Well, now that you have your beast, you can proceed with forming the contract," he said.

"Yes, Professor," Sein responded.

He turned toward the small Dark Dog, which stood nervously, its eyes darting around at the unfamiliar surroundings. Sein approached it slowly and knelt down, offering a reassuring smile.

As a Beast Tamer, Sein knew the method to form a bond with a beast. Contracts could be either master-servant or equality-based. In the master-servant contract, the beast was bound to obey unconditionally, even to its death, and any fatal harm to the master would reflect on the beast. On the other hand, an equality-based contract established mutual respect and cooperation without such severe consequences.

Sein glanced at the anxious yet curious pup and began tracing a delicate, shimmering pattern in the air. He chose the equality contract, as it was preferred by most tamers unless the beast or the tamer themselves had malevolent intentions. This type of bond often led to a stronger, more positive relationship between the two.

After a while of careful drawing, the hazy, intricate pattern shimmered fully into existence between Sein and the little pup. It glowed faintly, pulsating as if alive.

The pup tilted its head, studying the pattern with a mix of curiosity and hesitation. Its instincts told it this was something beneficial, but its young and inexperienced mind made it anxious about what to do. Just as it began to back away slightly, a sharp bark broke the silence.

Sein turned his head to see the leader of the Dark Dogs standing tall, barking a few commanding sounds. The little pup's ears perked up, and after a moment of hesitation, it seemed to find its resolve. Slowly, it raised a small, clawed paw and placed it on the glowing pattern.

Sein followed suit, pressing his hand on the other side of the ethereal design. In an instant, the pattern flared brightly, then dissolved into a cascade of tiny lights that disappeared into both of them.

A wave of warmth spread through Sein, and he suddenly felt a subtle yet distinct connection with the pup. It was faint but unmistakable—a bond that allowed him to sense the little creature's basic emotions. Right now, the pup's nervousness was beginning to fade, replaced by a tentative trust.

Seeing the successful formation of the contract, Prof. Adam gave a satisfied nod and said, "Congratulations, Sein. You've successfully bonded with your first beast. This is an important milestone for any Beast Tamer."

Sein smiled and bowed slightly in gratitude. "Thank you, Professor," he said, cradling the small pup in his hands.

The little pup, who had been so anxious moments before, now seemed completely at ease. It nestled into Sein's arms, its earlier hesitation replaced by a sense of comfort and trust.

After completing everything, Sein quickly bid farewell to Prof. Adam and made his way out of the Bio Garden.

As he walked, he looked down at the little pup nestled comfortably in his arms. He paused for a moment, considering the pup's future. "Well, let's call you kuro, from now on. What do you think?" he asked, a small smile forming on his face.

The pup barked in response, its tail wagging slightly, as if content with the name. It was a simple but meaningful choice, and from that moment, the bond between them felt even stronger.

After taking a few steps, Sein recalled the system reminder from earlier but had been too caught up in naming Kuro to fully pay attention to it. He focused his mind on it to check the details

[CONGRATULATIONS, HOST, FOR UNLOCKING ALL THE FUNCTIONS OF THE SYSTEM. THE "EVIL GOD BREEDER" SYSTEM IS NOW FULLY OPERATIONAL.]

Sein felt a sense of accomplishment as the system was now fully activated. However, just as he was about to continue, his smile suddenly froze, the corner of his mouth twitching.

"Wait... Can you repeat your name again?" he asked, his voice shaking.
