Chapter 278: Quick Fight
At Bai Hanyun's words, Jiang Yinqi checked the rearview mirror. The two black SUVs were following them closely behind, keeping pace with Hua Yuyu and Gao Gong's car.
After a moment of thought, Jiang Yinqi's lips curved into a confident smile.
"No problem," he replied.
Getting his answer, Bai Hanyun pressed the communicator pin on her clothes. "Brother Hua, Elder Brother Yinqi said it's not a problem."
"Understood." Hua Yuyu's voice remained calm when he said this. "Miss Bai, we will block them. Please let Attorney Jiang leave first. We will regroup at his villa after dealing with these people."
"Understood. Brother Hua, please be careful."
"Got it."
After planning their escape, Bai Hanyun ended the communication.
Turning back to Jiang Yinqi, she relayed Hua Yuyu's plan, "Brother Hua said they will block those people. He told us to return to your villa first. They will come back after dealing with those two SUVs."
Listening to what she said, Jiang Yinqi nodded. "Alright. Hold on."
With that, he pressed the accelerator harder. The sports car roared, drove into the night, leaving Hua Yuyu's car and the two black SUVs behind.
After Jiang Yinqi's sports car disappeared from his sight, Hua Yuyu ordered, "Find a secluded place."
"Yes, Captain," Gao Gong responded, then steered off the highway.
As soon as they changed lanes, the two black SUVs followed them without hesitation.
Ten minutes later, Gao Gong found a deserted street and parked on the roadside. Both he and Hua Yuyu then stepped out, waiting in silence with their weapons ready.
Soon, the two SUVs pulled in and blocked their way out. When the car door opened, a dozen men wearing masks came out, with their guns ready in hand.
The moment Hua Yuyu saw the guns, his eyes hardened as he ordered, "Now!"
The instant his words fell, Hua Yuyu and Gao Gon rushed toward the masked men.
Hua Yuyu jumped forward, his boots slamming against the nearest enemy's arm.
Crack! Crack!
"Ah!"
Two men howled as the sound of bones cracking echoed in the silent night. Their wrists bent at grotesque angles, and their guns clattered to the ground.
At the same moment, Gao Gong's fists landed straight on the enemies' faces, and three more masked men fell to the ground.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
In less than five seconds, five enemies were down.
The rest were stunned by how quick their movements were, but that was all Hua Yuyu and Gao Gong needed. Snatching up the fallen weapons, they fired at the remaining masked men without hesitation.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Bullets tore through arms and legs, injuring the masked men without killing them. Two minutes later, groans echoed across the empty street.
Hua Yuyu lowered his gun slightly and ordered, "Collect their weapons."
"Yes, Captain."
While Gao Gong tied up the injured masked men and gathered the guns, Hua Yuyu walked to the nearest conscious man and pressed a gun to his forehead.
"Who ordered you to follow us?" he asked coldly.
The man sneered through clenched teeth and said, "You will never find out."
As soon as he said that, his hand moved into his jacket.
Hua Yuyu's eyes widened when he saw what was on the masked man's hand. Without wasting any time, he ordered, "Gao Gong, run!"
The moment he heard that, Gao Gong instantly stopped what he was doing and ran away as fast as he could.
Behind them, the masked man pulled the grenade pin. Before the man could throw it, Hua Yuyu kicked his wrist, breaking his bone at once.
Crack!
Thud!
The grenade tumbled across the cracked asphalt, and the man groaned in pain. "Ugh!"
Enduring the pain, the masked man reached toward the grenade, but he was too late.
Boom!
The explosion spread through the empty street, and the shockwave hit Hua Yuyu and Gao Gong's backs, sending them flying away.
"Ugh…" Hua Yuyu groaned as he fell heavily on the ground, and the ringing in his ears made him dizzy.
Enduring the pain in his back, Hua Yuyu pushed himself up and scanned the surroundings. After the dust settled, he spotted Gao Gong staggering to his feet, brushing ash from his hair.
"Gao Gong, are you alright?" Hua Yuyu asked.
Gao Gong nodded and replied, "Barely. Those bastards are insane."
Seeing that he was alright, Hua Yuyu turned to the explosion area.
Seeing that the two SUVs and their car were engulfed in flame, Hua Yuyu turned his sight to the scorching ground.
Beside him, Gao Gong dialed Bao Shengjie.
Seconds later, Bao's voice came through the speaker. "Brother Gong, are you and Brother Yu alright?"
"Yes," Gao Gong replied calmly.
Hearing this, Bao Shengjie let out a sigh of relief before asking, "Where are you guys? Do you need backup?"
Looking at the scene in front of him, Gao Gong replied, "Send someone to pick us up. They blew our car to pieces."
Bao Shengjie was stunned for a second before he hurriedly said, "Got it. I will arrange it immediately. Brother Gong, please send me your location."
With that, Gao Gong shares his location with Bao Shengjie. "Done. Hurry up. We need to leave before the police arrive."
"Roger that."
After ending the call, Gao Gong turned to Hua Yuyu and reported, "Captain, Shengjie will send a car to pick us up."
Hua Yuyu nodded in response. "Alright."
While they waited, they inspected the explosion area.
Half an hour later, Gao Gong held up a scorched metal shard and showed it to Hua Yuyu. "Captain, I found something."
Hearing this, Hua Yuyu stood up and approached him. He then took the metal shard from Gao Gong and inspected it carefully.
After a moment of thought, he said, "This is a metal emblem used as an identity card. However, only underground groups use metal emblems like this."
"Captain, are these people from an underground organization?" Gao Gong asked.
"Yes, and their target should be Miss Bai," Hua Yuyu replied gloomily.
At those words, Gao Gong's face darkened. "Could it be Bai Yansheng again?"
