Chapter 96: Despair
The building around me completely collapsed, even I think I went overboard with that attack as a large part of the castle was destroyed.
"Shit!!" I screamed as I dodged the debris falling from the roof, I used Kajakut to use gravity magic and avoid the larger debris that fell.
It was less than a minute but the entire castle hall was destroyed leaving only a cloud of dust rising before me.
I used wind magic to clear the area, luckily only the party room had been destroyed and the rest of the castle was still intact.
Neither Orsted nor Rudeus were anywhere, I held the sword tightly in my hand as I relaxed.
"Fuuuu... let's do this" I muttered as I raised a hand to the sky.
Huge black clouds began to form around me, all of them contained huge lightning bolts and they compacted until only one huge black cloud remained in the sky.
It was the King rank spell "Electric", it would be a risky move, I already had half of my mana spent, this would leave me at least 30%
I stood still in my place looking for a golden figure.
(creaaak...)
The rubble in an area began to move and a huge figure jumped out of them.
"fuajajaja! That was a powerful attack! But you'll need more than-"
(krakabooom!!!)
Before he finished his sentence I cast the spell, the earth shook at the attack, even from my position I felt the electricity that ran through the place, at this my legs shook as I tried to stay calm.
At this I saw a huge figure jump beside me, I was about to attack him but.
The armor was jet black...
"Sorry for the delay! We made an improvised summoning circle and it cost us a lot!"
It was Rudeus in his MK2 armor.
He was just as imposing as I imagined and exuded an aura of incredible power.
"Where's Orsted?!" I asked.
"He's here, if he sees things getting complicated he'll intervene, Ariel and the others were evacuated with Peragius" he said.
"And Sylphiette?..." I muttered.
"...I don't know" he replied.
"Tch...shit!!" I shouted in frustration.
"Is that the Fighting God?..." he asked.
"Yeah, even between the two of us, I don't know if we can defeat him" I muttered.
"That's not very encouraging!" he said as he raised his hand to the sky to form his own electric shock.
Badigadi lay kneeling on the ground as he received my attack, but Rudeus' electric shock was even stronger than mine.
But even so, when all the smoke cleared he was still there, smoke was coming out of his body and the armor seemed slightly melted, but nothing more, the armor regenerated quickly and he began to advance towards us slowly.
"Rudeus...we won't be able to defeat him, but I have an idea, I will try to cut his arms and remove them from his body, if that works, I ask you to help me destroy them, use fire magic at its maximum power, I know you can" I said
"I'll see what I can do..." he muttered.
"Alright!! Here I come!!" Badigadi shouted and began to run towards us.
I got into a combat stance, crouched slightly and made a huge jump towards him.
"Haaaa!!" Rudeus shouted and from the machine gun integrated into his armor he began to shoot stone bullets at Badigadi.
"Hahaha! This is no more effective than a mosquito bite!!" Badigadi laughed as he lunged at Rudeus, but before he could reach him, I threw a long sword of light straight at his chest.
The impact...made him fall on his back and part of the chest of the armor had a huge cut.
"It works!..." I murmured excitedly, Kajakut is the key!.
"Rudeus!" I shouted.
"Yes!" he answered as he began to run alongside me.
I didn't give Badigadi time to get up, I turned on my own axis and cut off one of Badigadi's arms, the sword cut through the armor like butter and his arm flew to the side.
Without saying anything, Rudeus ran towards the arm and caught it in a huge purple fireball, while I looked at Badigadi.
His arm...didn't recover.
"I see, so that's what they're planning!" he shouted as he stood up.
I looked at Rudeus momentarily, Badigadi's arm was already reduced to ashes
okay!!
With this thought I rushed towards Badigadi as fast as I could, he tried to stop my attack with two of his arms, I jumped the first one and cut the second one passing my sword between his fingers, the arm was split in two parts which I cut again and threw them to Rudeus, he caught them quickly and summoned another fireball.
"tch!, die!" Badigadi screamed as he tried to attack me, but I realized that he was smaller now, maybe fifty centimeters less, but I quickly got that thought out of my mind and aimed at his legs.
The armor used heels for some reason, so I broke the bases of these and Badigadi staggered backwards, in that I took advantage to cut one of his legs and Badigadi fell to the ground.
I threw all the pieces at Rudeus and he took care of them with fire magic, also I realized that the armor can't regenerate the cuts made with Kajakut, so I quickly got on top of Badigadi and stabbed him in the chest, I don't know where his core is but it's still worth a try.
(clank!! trass!, baugg!)
The sound of the metal stabbing echoed in my ears as I dodged Badigadi's arms, one of the arms caught me immobilizing me.
"Bastard! You're letting yourself go!" he shouted but then the ground beneath us turned to stone and Badigadi fell into it while a huge pillar of earth fell on him.
It hit him full force and that made him let go, I didn't waste time and cut off the arm that had me captive and threw it to Rudeus.
Now he only had two left arms and one right arm and he also didn't have a leg, he was at a clear disadvantage.
"Give up Badigadi! If you do that we'll let you live!" I shouted.
"Hehe, I don't think so, if I do that Orsted will kill me" he said as he tried to get up.
Badigadi was now at a clear disadvantage, me and Rudeus had a good strategy that was paying off, it was just a matter of time before Badigadi lost.
"Tell me Badigadi, why did you join forces with Hitogami? Are you also an apostle?" I asked.
"It's nothing personal, I simply had a debt with him and now I'm paying it off" he said.
"I see...then you'll die for it" I muttered as I injected the mana I had left into Kajakut.
"Come for me then!" Badigadi muttered.
I lunged at him at the speed of light, Badigadi couldn't react to this and I cut off his last right arm and threw it at Rudeus.
Then I turned around completely and stabbed him in the back, Badigadi didn't twist but tried to attack me with his two remaining arms.
I stabbed him right in the center of the chest, and when I buried the sword further I felt that I broke something and then Badigadi was paralyzed.
"Rudeus!!!" I screamed as I buried the sword until it pierced his chest and with all my strength I began to cut from his chest to his head.
"yeaaaagh!!" I gave a cry of effort as I pulled the sword out of his body.
I put the sword back in from where I had cut until I cut his body completely in half.
Suddenly the armor began to shine as the remains were drawn towards me.
"oh shit!!!" I screamed.
I immediately began to channel all the mana I had left into Kajakut, I concentrated on the armor, I cut Badigadi again now in half, the remaining pieces of the armor began to float but I already had some in the body like in the hands and a kneepad.
Badigadi's body began to float in the same way, but my mana was already running out.
But just then Rudeus arrived and stood behind me, holding the sword in the same way, he injected the mana and I commanded the sword.
The remains of the armor next to Badigadi's body began to form into a ball of flesh and metal, there was no noise, but a huge light came out of it.
"Rudeus! Use a fireball!" I shouted.
He didn't say anything and fired a fireball directly at the grotesque ball of mana that was in front of us.
There was no explosion afterwards or anything like that, the light went out and ashes fell to the ground.
The gloves and the golden kneepad fell from my body and Rudeus quickly burned them with fire.
...
I looked around, there was nothing but rubble and the castle that stood to my left, the gardens were destroyed and there was no one around.
With Kajakut in my hand I started walking around the area, Rudeus came out of his armor while he looked at the ashes where Badigadi was with melancholy.
I searched for a while among the rubble using the little mana I had left to lift the heaviest stones, I lasted like that for about half an hour, until I found it.
"There it is..." I muttered.
Among the rubble was Ghislaine's red sword and Roxy's staff, I carefully picked them both up and took them as I walked out of the rubble.
When I left the place I could see that Sylphiette and Rudues were hugging each other.
I unconsciously let out a sigh of relief and approached them.
"Sylphiette! We were worried about you, where were you?!" I asked as I approached.
"Hello! That six arm man broke into the gardens, I cast several spells on him but I saw that it was useless so I tried to retreat, but he attacked me, but he only knocked me unconscious, when I woke up Orsted took me to a safe place and I came back as soon as I could" she explained.
"I see..." I muttered.
"Hey... is that my teacher's staff?!, what happened?!" Rudeus said as he approached me.
"...those bastards said that they attacked you, they also said that they attacked the Superd village..." I said while holding the objects tightly.
Rudeus threw himself to the ground and began to cry, I felt that I was crying too but what I felt most was anger.
Orsted arrived shortly after while he was analyzing the damage.
"This was a very risky move by Hitogami, it also seems that he was desperate to send so many powerful people to finish you off" Orsted said.
"...and now what are we going to do?" I asked.
"We'll take advantage of this, say that Prince Grabel hired world-class people just to kill Princess Ariel but was repelled by his two trusted bodyguards" he explained.
"I see... taking advantage of this event" I muttered.
Orsted nodded at this and soon after the city guards began to arrive, I was surprised to see that some nobles survived, like Philip, Triss's father and some minor nobles, seeing himself cornered, Philip begged to go over to Ariel's side but she refused him, the other nobles said that many powerful swordsmen broke into the party with the intention of killing Ariel, we pulled some strings and made all the blame fall on the now deceased Darius and Grabel, speaking of him, they found him in his room dead and with signs of poisoning, this was considered a suicide to avoid the consequences.
So it was a total of three more days, with no one else standing in the way of the throne, Ariel was chosen as the future queen of Asura, but I didn't stay to see that, anxiety had been eating away at me for many days, I needed to return home and at least see what had happened.
I wanted to at least see if the ashes of my home remained...
