Opening my eyes, the first thing I see is the grimoire floating above me, and after giving it a playful tap on the front cover, the book floats away. Good morning to you too, Grimoire.
Checking the time again, 5 o'clock in the morning, I proceed to do my normal morning routine and exercises. However, I realize that I am definitely going to need to either procure or create some exercise equipment for myself.
To be honest, the thought of finally entering my tower today has me shaking all over. Thinking of all those magical reagents and libraries in that tower almost makes me want to skip school entirely. But while I wish I could get away with that, the problem with being the son of one of the world's premier magicians is that skipping school is not really a thing.
And when I tried to ask if I could just skip the grades, I received a definite no from both of my parents. I assume this was most likely a psychological thing, as they want me to develop mentally with my peers. But the problem is, I really don't see them that way. I think all the beauty perks are getting to my head.
Making sure to wake up my sister from her beauty sleep, I met with both my mother and father sitting at the table, which is odd as it's pretty rare that he's still here around this time.
As soon as my mother sees me, she rushes toward me and gives me a large hug, which I return. The look in her eyes definitely makes me understand how my father fell in love with her.
After sitting down and handing all of us breakfast, the table is silent for a few minutes. But soon enough, my sister, being the rather blunt person that she is, asks the question.
"OK, it's usually not this quiet, so either someone has died, or a spell has gone wrong and the entire world is now silent." I wanted to say that if it was the second option, she wouldn't even be able to speak, but my father beats me to it with a simple and concise response.
"Well, my beloved daughter, your brother has finally shown potential in the mystic arts. But due to the uniqueness of his magic, we are going to have to figure out how to train him." For a few moments, my sister goes completely silent in both surprise and utter bafflement.
After looking me over, the surprised look on her face turns into a smile as she essentially jumps me, giving me a big hug.
Making sure to catch her, in addition to reinforcing the chair's leg so that it doesn't break, my sister then says with tears in her eyes, "You have no idea how happy I am right now… I thought… you know what, never mind."
She then just embraces me for a few moments before returning to her seat and rubbing her eyes.
"So, Dad, are we gonna have joint training, or how is this gonna go?" All of us then look at my father, and after he clears his throat, he answers.
"Well, given how his magic is different from ours, self-discipline will have to do for now until I can find the necessary information. That and the fact that he has shown such control over his magic makes it seem like whatever your brother is doing is working. However, daughter, make sure not to ask a magician about his special magics. It is rude. Your brother will reveal what he can do in time. The fact that he even has magic at all is a miracle." My sister then nods, and as we all eat together in comfortable silence, I send a small thanks to that angel, as my life could've gone so badly if I was sent to the wrong place.
(One School Day Later)
Picking up all my stuff and placing it in my backpack, I return to my locker to place the excess supplies in. But as I do so, I find some of my female classmates attempting to ambush me.
This has been happening a decent amount these days, especially as I grow older. The beauty perks are beginning to show themselves a lot more, and given the fact that puberty has already begun to take hold, I imagine I may have to convince my parents to homeschool me.
Thankfully, the class I was in was on the first floor, so I just opened the window and hopped out. After exiting the school grounds, I returned home. After doing so, I found my mother on the phone with the various donors to the museum she works at. After a small wave, I take the half-eaten food and other plates and place them in the dishwasher for her, to which she gives me a thumbs-up.
Closing the door to her office and leaving her to her work, I return to my own room. After closing the shutters in my window, I reach out and feel the connection that I felt when I rolled the wizard's tower. Soon enough, as if something had split reality into a pinkish-blue portal, it opens in front of me. After taking a moment, I step inside and find myself amongst a field of seemingly endless flowers.
The air in this place feels fresher than anything I have ever felt before, the ground the perfect combination of hardness and softness. The sky seems to stretch on forever as clouds lazily pass by amongst an endless blue sky.
As I stretch my hands through the flowers, I feel that somehow they are even softer than any pillow I've ever touched. But focusing on the giant tower in front of me, I walk toward it, and as I do so, a door appears along with an entire stairway leading into the lower parts of the tower.
As I climb up the rapidly appearing stone stairwell, I take a moment to marvel at the fact that the stairs are simply appearing out of nowhere, and I wasn't even able to see any spell matrices or any low-level bounded fields.
As I reach the door and find that it has no handle, I place my hand upon it and run my magic through the door. After hearing a couple of locks disengage, I slowly open the door. As it opens as silently as the wind, I find myself staring at an endless spiral staircase surrounded by endless books, with the floors somehow being entirely square yet within an entirely circular tower.
As I walk inside, one book begins to shine in a brilliant white light. As I approach it, words begin to form across the page.
"To whomever is reading this and has found this tower and is able to gain access, I, the great—no, grand—Caster Merlin, welcome you to my abode. Here you shall find what you are seeking. If you desire knowledge, you shall find it. If you desire materials, I have a decent amount of vaults filled to abundance. And if you simply want a place all your own, the tower is yours. Do with it as you will. Where I go now, no one will be able to follow. I have seen the beginning and end of ages, from the Age of Gods to the Age of Will. If I never return to this place, whoever finds it shall become the owner of this tower. Take good care of it. Oh, and if you find a small rat-looking creature around, try not to do anything against it because while it may look cute, it is deadly. My knowledge and my home are now yours. Do with it as you will. Do not make the same mistakes I did…"
As the words appear upon the page and I finish reading them, I begin to feel foreign emotions. As I trace the book, I see flashes of the being himself scrawling the words upon the page. But instead of the tower's normal condition, everything was dark and the outside was doused in fire. But as I return to my senses, I look out the small window near me and find everything as it was. While I wonder what forced the wizard to leave his tower, I realize that this is for the future.
And as my excitement peaks, I look toward the book that Merlin himself left, especially for the new owner. As I look at the cover of the book, my eyes immediately want to die, seeing the cover of the book.
"Guide on the Human Anatomy… Especially the Fun Stuff" - Written by Merlin.
Goddamnit, you dick wizard troll. I'm still gonna end up reading it, but it's still disgusting.
Putting those thoughts aside, I found something that I didn't expect to see on the shelves. There were books that I definitely knew Merlin could not have picked up.
Instead of books just on major craft or various magics from the Age of Gods, I found not only those books but also books of a certain other type of magic.
On the shelves, I found various guides and other books written by very recognizable names, such as Albus Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, Horace Slughorn, Severus Snape, and many others.
It seems that this library includes the basics and even more advanced subjects based on whatever magic I receive. That or maybe it's because I got the tower from the perks I rolled since I rolled them at the same time.
Honestly, it would take me years just to go through all of these books, and I do believe that my mind isn't truly prepared to just read all of these books through tracing.
As I place down a Basics of Charms book, I turn around and feel the mental pinging of the celestial grimoire. Since I'm riding a high right now, I decide to indulge it.

Rapturous Rhapsody Jump/Time is Just a Concept: (-100 CP): Many species live for countless years, perceiving centuries as mere moments due to their extended lifespans. Perhaps you belong to one of these species, as you are not bound by the concept of time. You do not experience boredom, disinterest, or any other issues associated with time passing. You aren't absent-minded, but now you can find enjoyment in simply watching the world unfold around you. Millions of years could go by, and to you, it would only feel like a few moments.
Before I could even comment on this perk, I find myself in an entirely new place. As I look around, I find that it's my old room. The details are shady and murky, as if this entire room is based off of my fading memory. Walking over to the small desk I had, I pick up a picture of me and my family—one of the last.
I feel small tears fall down my eyes as I realize that they are truly gone. My siblings, my parents—all of them returning to the cosmos. A smile appears on my face as I remember all of the moments I had with them. While they never shared my interests, nor did they seem truly intrigued by my hobbies, they were much better than what others got.
Putting the picture down, I lay upon my old bed and stare at the unending universe that had taken the place of my old ceiling. In that moment, I saw planets form and die. I saw nebulas collapse into singularities. Thousands of years passed before my eyes, and I stared in wonder.
I felt so small… but that realization made me want to reach out to those stars. But now, in the back of my mind, I realize that it isn't a goal anymore. It is an inevitability. Not because it is destined, but because I have the patience, and I also have the will.
The world may never revolve around me, but I shall always enjoy watching and enjoying the beauty of its revolution.
As I blink, I find myself back in the tower, staring right at the grimoire. In my hand is the small picture frame of my old family. Placing it on the nearby desk, I return my attention to the floating book, but not before whispering an almost unintelligible thanks.

Fate/Legends - God Save the Queen/Powerless Shell: (-200 CP): You? You're just an ordinary human. Nothing strange about you at all. The long walks on nights of the full moon, the mysterious stains on your shirt as you return home, the favor for very rare meat?
All easily explained. All entirely indicative of the monster you really are, but few seem to notice. Whatever your true form or abilities, you can conceal them in a powerless shell, or so it looks to the outside. You can suppress your form and abilities so that you appear as just a normal human to all observers. No impression or sign is apparent that you are not an ordinary human, at least as long as you can stay in control and not give in to any insane impulses you might have. Going on a bloodlust-fueled rampage will undo your disguise, making any inhuman traits or superhuman powers quite apparent. But as long as you can stay levelheaded, even magic can't detect the truth, and people find themselves easily, and often against all reason, excusing evidence they find that points to you being anything but an ordinary, sane, and law-abiding human being. They might even excuse directly seeing powers or magic you have if you can give some weak explanation for it being mundane.

The same golden light then rains down upon me, but instead of entering me, it enshrouds me like a large cloak, and I feel as if I can hide myself from magical senses as well as physical observers. I truly wonder if this book wants me to turn into some uber-handsome stealth mage.
[Rolling… Stealth Mage Archer]
This book is weird, but in a good way.
Jumper (Movie)/Inscrutable: (-200 CP): The Jumpers would never have been so threatened by the Paladins if not for their technology and understanding. Electricity disrupts concentration, causes spasms and all that, preventing a Jumper from focusing on a destination and making the Jump. As well, the Paladins created technology that allowed them to follow Jumpers through the rips in space left behind in the wake of their Jumps.
This kind of thing won't be a problem for you going forward, however. Your powers are yours, and no one else's. No one can understand them against your will, let alone suppress or counter them.
We take those… we always take those. In that moment, I felt more secure than I have in years. While no one could copy my magic, they could find ways to suppress my magic. But now I don't have to worry about some BS power suppression or anti-magic rituals.
[Rolling]
Wizarding World/Part-Veela: (-100 CP): Beauty is a magic all of its own, and there are few quite as beautiful as the Veela. Perhaps that is how they entranced your own ancestor, given that you are now half-Veela. And as befitting of one with Veela heritage, whether male or female, you are astonishingly beautiful, moving with perfectly flawless grace regardless of the circumstances. And with your supernatural allure permeating every inch of your body and even your voice, your beauty shall only be made more apparent to those around you, distracting and attracting those of the opposite sex who do not have the will to resist such a beauty. You can control your supernatural allure effect, thankfully.
But beauty is not the only magic the Veela possess. You possess a magical affinity for fire, making it a bit easier for you to learn such spells and abilities.

…You know what? I'm not even mad at this point. I'm just going to sit down and enjoy all of these books and finally have a decent place to practice. I barely even notice the small effects on my body, from my hair becoming much more illustrious to my eyes becoming ever so clearer.
For now, I'm just going to enjoy reading through all of this knowledge.
(Well boys and girls another chapter for you and I swear to the Lord above the grimoire is going to run out of beauty perks to give this guy. Next chapter will have some more action as well as a small training arc.. who knows what Merlin has left in his tower.)
