Chapter 8: MCSDB Chapter 8 One Year of Time
It had been almost a year since Jiang Chen logged in. When he first logged in, his Battle Power was a mere "5," and he was classified as a low-class warrior. Thanks to Bardock, he was kept as logistical support and received some basic training. As a low-class warrior, his potential was virtually non-existent.
After a year, his Battle Power had barely risen from 5 to 10. At the current rate, it was uncertain whether he would even reach a Battle Power of 100 by adulthood. If things continued like this, he would likely set a new record for the lowest Battle Power ever in Saiyan history, which would certainly be a shame for him.
Of course, this assumed that Planet Vegeta would still exist by that time.
The main reason for such a low increase in power was that, over the past year, Jiang Chen hadn't focused on training, nor did he make use of his precognitive abilities.
In his mind, it seemed more sensible to wait for Beerus and Whis. If he could follow those two powerful beings, not only would he survive the first mainline mission, but he might also rise to greater heights. This seemed far better than blindly training on his own.
However, after a year of trying, Jiang Chen had to give up. He realized he wasn't suited for this path. There was no hope of gaining favor from Beerus and Whis, so it was time to choose a different route.
At this point, gravity training became important.
"Gravity Machine, huh?"
"Sure, I'll check with someone. It shouldn't be too difficult," Bardock replied, though he seemed slightly puzzled. Nonetheless, he quickly nodded in agreement.
For Bardock, this wasn't a troublesome task. Despite being a low-class warrior, his Battle Power had already reached 7,000, stronger than even some Elite Warriors, and his status had naturally risen significantly as well.
"Thanks, Bardock Oji San," Jiang Chen said with a relieved sigh, grateful for his help.
"Hahaha, no need to thank me. After I finish taking care of Raditz's matter, I'll go get it sorted for you," Bardock chuckled and patted Jiang Chen's head.
Jiang Chen smiled back.
The next day, Bardock returned and handed Jiang Chen a device that resembled a wristband.
"Here you go, Aspara. It's ready. This thing can only adjust gravity to ten times normal for now, but you can start using it. Later, when I go to Frieza's army headquarters, I'll arrange for a more advanced version for you."
"Thank you!" Jiang Chen's eyes lit up, and he quickly nodded in gratitude.
He hadn't expected there to be more to it.
"I told you, no need to thank me. You're such a polite kid," Bardock said, though his face looked a bit stern.
"Got it, Bardock Oji San!" Jiang Chen laughed and nodded.
"That's better," Bardock said, satisfied. "By the way, I'm leaving tomorrow, so make sure to take care of yourself."
Bardock patted Jiang Chen's head once more before leaving.
The following day, Bardock quietly departed. Watching several spaceships rise into the sky in the distance, Jiang Chen exhaled deeply.
"Next step— improve my strength!" He whispered to himself after gathering his thoughts.
Having given up on the best option, it was time to move on to the next phase. With the gravity wristband and his knowledge from his previous life, he believed his power would rise significantly before Planet Vegeta's destruction.
As for how much power he would gain— only time would tell.
He raised his right hand, and the gravity wristband appeared before him. With a light touch, a virtual screen appeared in front of him.
"Please adjust the gravity multiplier," A mechanical voice echoed.
"Two times!"
Jiang Chen thought for a moment and softly spoke the command.
"Gravity parameters set!"
"Gravity loading in progress."
"Whumm!"
The mechanical voice echoed, and in the next moment, a ripple spread out.
"Bang!"
Jiang Chen's body, which was standing firm, staggered, almost falling over.
Although it was only double gravity, with his Battle Power being only 10, he could barely handle it. His face immediately flushed red from the strain.
Quickly, he deactivated the gravity wristband.
As the gravity disappeared, Jiang Chen felt the pressure vanish instantly, and the explosive sensation in his body slowly subsided.
"Ha!"
Exhaling deeply, Jiang Chen reset the gravity wristband.
"Please adjust gravity multiplier."
The mechanical voice sounded again.
"1.5 times!"
Jiang Chen spoke.
In the next moment, his body sank again.
A wave of pressure spread through his body, but thankfully, compared to double gravity, 1.5 times was still manageable.
Within less than a week, under 1.5 times gravity, Jiang Chen had adapted enough to get by.
A month later, basic living was no longer an issue, though there were still some minor effects in certain situations.
Of course, even though Jiang Chen had adapted to 1.5 times gravity, he did not rush to try double gravity again.
Saiyan physiques were strong, but he was still only three years old. Unlike Trunks and Goten, who were descendants of Super Saiyans, Jiang Chen was fully aware of his limits.
And so, time passed quietly.
A year went by in the blink of an eye.
During this year, under 1.5 times gravity, he not only managed to live but also began some basic training. This training included Saiyan methods from this world as well as some techniques Jiang Chen knew from his previous life.
A year of continuous daily training had led to a remarkable improvement in his strength.
On a flat plain, Jiang Chen stopped to catch his breath.
He focused and activated the scouter on his left eye.
"Beep! Beep!"
The numbers quickly fluctuated.
After a moment, a value appeared before him that made him pleasantly surprised.
"65"
"Sixty-five points, huh?"
Jiang Chen whispered, a smile forming on his face.
For a Saiyan, this might not be much, but considering he was born with a Battle Power of just 5, and was now only four years old, this was impressive. Most low-class warriors, at four years old, would struggle to reach 50 points.
In just one year, his Battle Power had already reached 65.
This was without pushing his gravity training further. If he did, his Battle Power could have risen even more— hitting 100 points might not have been impossible.
To put things into perspective, typically, any Saiyan born with a Battle Power below 30 would be classified as a low-class warrior. Between 30 and 100 points, they would be considered Mid-Class Warriors, and anything above 100 points would be categorized as a high-class warrior.
Low-class warriors rarely exceeded 200 or 300 points in Battle Power throughout their lives, and even the highest would not surpass 500.
To have reached 65 Battle Power at just four years old was already impressive enough to be considered strong among Mid-class Warriors. Many Mid-class Warriors, at four years old, would not even have reached 65 Battle Power.
After all, the main period of a Saiyan's growth was between the ages of 18 and 50. Before 18, the increase in fighting power was usually quite limited.
