"Saiyans… they truly are troublesome."
"But it ends here!"
"Ahhh!"
A piercing cry echoed as Bardock's tail was brutally ripped off in a single, swift motion. Immediately following this, a devastating punch slammed into his abdomen.
"Boom!"
"Ugh!"
Bardock gagged violently, barely able to react before another blow, this time aimed at his back, sent him hurtling towards the ground.
"Bardock, I can send you back to your planet. Do you agree?"
Struggling to regain his footing, Bardock was just about to launch himself into the air when a strange voice suddenly resonated within his mind.
"Who are you?"
The unexpected voice startled Bardock.
"I am Shenron. I can grant any wish. Monaito wished for me to send you back to your planet. Do you agree?"
The strange voice rang out again, and Bardock finally understood what was happening.
"How fascinating. So there really is a dragon that can grant any wish."
"But, Shenron, there's no need to send me back. I still have to defeat this guy. If possible, I wish for my children to grow up safely."
Bardock spoke softly, his fighting spirit undiminished despite his heavy breathing as he glared at the figure in the sky.
"Of course. It shall be done." Shenron's voice faded, and in the distance, the dark clouds began to dissipate.
"What are you muttering about?"
"You wild monkey, without your Great Ape form, you don't stand a chance."
Gas unleashed his full power, his aura now surging to 100% of its potential, intensifying the ferocity of the battle. Bardock, already battered and bruised, found himself completely overwhelmed, unable to even lift his head.
"Give up. You can't win!" Gas sneered, his expression twisted in a mask of madness as his immense aura bore down heavily on the surroundings.
"Boom!"
The next collision sent Bardock flying far away, slamming into the distant landscape with such force that the nearby mountains crumbled under the impact.
"Knowing you can't win but still continuing the fight— is it for revenge?" Gas walked towards Bardock, his eyes cold and mocking.
Bardock, struggling to rise, was enveloped by a faint, radiant glow.
"Of course not. It's obvious— when fighting for your life, the only thing on your mind is victory."
"The only thing I need is to beat you!"
Bardock grinned as he spoke. In the next instant, his body surged forward, suddenly brimming with newfound power.
"What?!"
"Boom!"
Gas's expression shifted, but it was too late. He was sent flying by Bardock's sudden, powerful strike.
"Impossible! Saiyans shouldn't possess such power unless they transform into Great Apes!"
Gas roared angrily as he charged back towards Bardock, launching a massive energy blast at him.
"There's nothing impossible about it. You just don't understand. Saiyans evolve every time they push their limits."
Bardock spoke calmly, releasing an energy blast of his own to meet Gas's attack.
"Boom!"
"Boom! Boom!"
The two energy blasts collided in mid-air, resulting in a massive explosion. As the shockwave subsided, Gas's body was sent flying once more, his consciousness fading into darkness. Bardock, stumbling slightly, eventually collapsed to the ground as well.
"What an impressive fight," A lighthearted voice remarked as Bardock fell.
A figure materialized.
"Cough, cough... Who are you? A member of Frieza's army?" Bardock forced himself to stand, eyeing the newcomer warily.
With a furious expression, Bardock clenched his fists. All his teammates had been eliminated by Frieza's forces during this mission.
Now, as another figure appeared before him, his mind instinctively linked the encounter to Frieza.
"Business dealings are never as they seem. Don't you know about Frieza's true schemes?" The figure chuckled mockingly, a playful smirk playing on his lips.
"What do you mean?" Bardock's mind flashed back to recent events, and his expression shifted slightly.
"Nothing much."
"It's just that now… you can go die!"
The figure smiled coldly, drawing an energy gun.
"Bang!"
"Ahhh!"
A blast erupted from the energy gun, sending Bardock's body hurtling off the edge of a cliff.
"What a fool. Truly fitting for a bunch of wild monkeys."
The figure chuckled. He was about to step forward to deliver the finishing blow when—
"Boss, Frieza's forces are approaching."
A voice crackled through his communicator.
"That was fast!" He muttered in frustration. Without hesitation, he scooped up Gas, fired another shot towards the cliff, and swiftly departed the area.
At the bottom of the cliff, Bardock lay motionless, his aura nearly extinguished. Fortunately, at that moment, a faint green glow enveloped his body.
A Namekian, who had somehow arrived unnoticed, was now using all his strength to heal Bardock.
A few days later, a spaceship soared into the sky, leaving the planet Hiril behind.
"Frieza…" Bardock's eyes gleamed with fury, and the anger within him grew uncontrollably. He replayed the scenes in his mind and recalled the words of that mysterious figure on Hiril.
A streak of light rapidly traversed space, heading directly back to Planet Vegeta.
At this point, only four months remained before the destruction of Planet Vegeta.
Meanwhile, on Planet Vegeta—
After two months of preparation, Jiang Chen was finally ready to depart. The delay was primarily due to one crucial factor: he required a gravity machine and a large spaceship.
As a low-class warrior who had only recently registered as a combatant, he originally had no right to request such advanced equipment.
However, thanks to his well-known association with Bardock, and with Bardock providing him with a considerable amount of contribution points, he managed to secure the necessary items. The only drawback was that the process took some time to complete.
"Lord Aspara, everything is ready."
"Your position is in Zone 3, Bay 107."
In the logistics center, an alien spoke respectfully.
"Got it." Jiang Chen nodded, took a deep breath, and headed toward the designated location.
Moments later, he arrived at Zone 3, Bay 107, as instructed by the alien.
Under their arrangement, he soon entered the spaceship. Compared to the small personal spacecraft typically used by Saiyans, this one was significantly larger. It offered ample space— while not as large as the ship Son Goku used to travel to Namek, it was roughly half its size.
More importantly, it was equipped with a gravity machine.
Of course, Jiang Chen had no doubt that Frieza's forces had installed monitoring devices on this ship. But that didn't matter. He only intended to use the ship for a limited time.
"It's time to go!" He whispered softly.
In the next moment, the spaceship roared to life, and a streak of light shot up into the sky.
