NOVEL NEXT Chapter 3: [3] Rooftop
Standing against the railing, Alex and Koharu watched as the entire school was in chaos. People were being torn apart and eaten while everyone was was blocked inside by the gate, and those who had managed tp climb the gate were torn apart by the zombies outside.
As they watched the chaos, the door to the roof was slammed open and three other kids ran onto the roof while being followed by a group of zombies.
"Ah fuck, I forgot about that"
The roof was quickly overrun by dozens of zombies while the three other kids ran to a higher spot, Alex looked around for anything he could use as a weapon, but there was nothing.
"Welp, fuck. Alright Koharu, you ever played and kind of zombie games" asked Alex
"U-uh yeah, but what does that have to do with right now"
"Im gonna try and train them away from the door and thats when we make a break for it, but I don't know if any of them are still on the stairway so be wary"
After saying that Alex sprinted away followed by three or four zombies, he quickly caught the attention of most of the zombies and led them to the furthest spot away from the door.
"Alright, let me see if this works"
Alex stood with his back against the railing and watched as one of the zombies stumbled towards him. As they got closer, one of the faster one started pulling away from the group and Alex focused on him.
Watching the zombie get closer Alex took a deep breath, the zombie lunged at Alex but he sidestepped and grabbed onto it clothes and threw it over the railing.

"Hah, it worked"
Alex look at the group of zombies and decided to get out of there before he got stuck, he sprinted alongside the railing until he made it back to Koharu who was watching from on top of a massive air conditioning until.
"Come on" yelled Alex as Koharu jumped down
They sprinted through the door, but stopped as they saw five zombies struggling to climb the stairs. Quickly trying to think of something Alex looked around the room, one of the zombies got closer and Alex managed to kick it back down the stairs.
He saw a fire extinguisher on the wall and broke the glass, using the extinguisher Alex charged the closest zombie and smashed it into its head. The zombie collapsed and rolled down the stairs taking a couple down with it, he threw the extinguisher at the last two and jumped over the railing.
He landed on the ground and rolled out of the was as Koharu fell behind him, he heard a loud slapping sound and Koharu let out a loud yell, turning around Alex saw him on the ground holding his foot
"Ah fuck" mumbled Alex
Alex helped Koharu stand up and supported him as they tried to get away from the zombies he kicked down the stairs, after making it into the halls they were greeted by the strong smell of iron as puddles of blood and bits of flesh were scattered around the school.
Seeing a large group of zombies down the hall, Alex and Koharu slipped into the nearest classroom and locked the door.
He scanned the room but after see nothing he collapsed onto the floor and took deep breaths "That was stressful"
Koharu stood while resting against one of the desks while checking over his foot "I think it's only sprang not broken"
"Thats good, but it's gonna be a lot harder try to get around with that"
"Yeah I know... if you need to, you can leave me behind" said Koharu with a solemn expression
Alex just nodded his head and moved over to the window, he didn't see any students infront of rhe school and assumed most were dead.
"Looks like things are starting to calm down somewhat... ok im gonna try and make it to the nurses office to see if I can get anything for your foot"
Koharu look at Alex with a suprised look "Why... why risk your life for me when I'll just slow you down"
"Well im not going just for that, I also want to see how strong these things are and try to kill some, the medicine is just a bonus"
Alex broke one of the metal legs off of a desk and crushed the end into a point.
"It's not the best, but it should work... maby"
He walked over to the door and peaked into the hallway "Lock the door behind me once I leave"
Koharu nodded his head and Alex cautiously walked into the hallway, before he left he had learned from Koharu that the nurses office was on the second floor towards the back of the school.
"Ok, if it's like I remember the head is the weak spot" mumbled Alex
He quietly walked away from the group of zombies and back the way they came from, passing by the stairs Alex saw that the zombies from before were gone. Walking through the halls Alex noticed one of the zombies walking into one of the classroom doors, and tried to sneak up behind it.
Taking a deep breath Alex was about to stab in in the base of the skull when
*Bang*Clang*Clang*
Looking over Alex saw another zombie walking towards him knocking over evrything in the way, he quickly tried to stab the zombie but it had already turned around and charged him.
He used the metal bar to hold the zombie back but it was slowly pushing him towards the wall.
"Ah shit, fuck" said Alex panicking
He used the bar to throw the zombie to the side, looking at the other zombie it was still far enough so Alex tried to stab the zombie on the ground in the head.
On the first try it didn't pierce through so Alex started repeatedly stabbing it until it went limp, he was breathing heavily but his focus switch to the second zombie charging him.
Alex charged the zombie and as it lunged at him he stabbed it in the chest, using the bar and all the strength in his legs Alex managed to pick the zombie up enough to slam it onto the ground.
Pulling out the blood soaked bar Alex stabbed the zombie in the head again and again until it went limp, after it was dead Alex fell to the side gasping for air while covered in blood.
