Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu were startled by what they heard.

The man's sister had died? And her soul was appearing here in the form of a black shadow?

The man continued, "A few days ago, my sister had a car accident on a nearby road and died on the spot. But I always feel that her soul hasn't departed. I come here every day to look for her, hoping to bring her home. But every time, she seems to be deliberately avoiding me."

Upon hearing this, Shen Jingqi felt a wave of sympathy rise in his heart. He looked at the man, trying to comfort him, "Don't be too sad. Maybe your sister just doesn't want to disturb you."

The man shook his head, "No, I know she's here. I can feel her presence. And it seems like... she's very scared."

Very scared? Shen Jingqi's heart skipped a beat. Was this the reason Tuantuan was also so terrified?

He shared this thought with the man, and the man, upon hearing it, had a glimmer of hope in his eyes, "Really? Then can it help me find her?"

Shen Jingqi nodded, "We can try."

The man gave him a grateful look, "Thank you."

They returned inside. Tuantuan was still hiding behind the sofa, too scared to come out. Shen Jingqi gently called its name, trying to soothe its nerves. Then, he tried to let Tuantuan sniff the man's sister's clothes, hoping it would remember the scent and lead them to the man's sister.

Tuantuan seemed to understand their intention. It gingerly stepped out from behind the sofa and began sniffing around the house. Shen Jingqi, Li Baiyu, and the woman followed closely, watching Tuantuan's every move with tension.

Tuantuan came to the door and stopped. It seemed to have caught a scent and began wagging its tail excitedly. Then, it ran toward the direction of the door.

"Quick! Follow it!" Shen Jingqi shouted.

They followed Tuantuan to the stairwell, where Tuantuan stopped and started sniffing around. Then it darted off in one direction.

They followed Tuantuan to a corner on the first floor, where there was a storage room. Tuantuan stopped at the door and began scratching it frantically.

"Here!" Cong Nanxue shouted excitedly.

They pushed open the door and entered. The storage room was filled with all sorts of clutter, making it dark and eerie. But Tuantuan quickly darted inside, sniffing around without hesitation.

They followed Tuantuan to a corner where there was an old wooden box. Tuantuan circled the box a few times and then stopped, looking at them.

Shen Jingqi walked up to the wooden box and gently lifted the lid. Then, he was stunned.

Inside the box lay a girl, her face pale, her eyes tightly shut.

"Sister!" The man rushed over, holding the girl's body and weeping bitterly.

Watching the man hold his sister's body and cry, Shen Jingqi felt a whirlwind of emotions. He turned to look at Li Baiyu, only to find her face pale, her eyes vacant, as if she had seen something terrifying.

"Senior, what's wrong?" Shen Jingqi asked with concern.

But Li Baiyu did not answer. She just stared blankly at the girl in the box, muttering to herself, "Cong Nanxue..."

Suddenly, she swayed and collapsed to the ground. Shen Jingqi was startled and rushed to check on her.

"Senior! Senior!" Shen Jingqi shook her body, trying to wake her.

But Li Baiyu did not respond, her eyes tightly closed, her breathing faint. Shen Jingqi's heart tightened. He hurriedly picked her up, preparing to take her to the hospital.

Just then, Li Baiyu suddenly opened her eyes, but her gaze was cold and unfamiliar. She looked at Shen Jingqi and Cong Nanxue, and said coldly, "Who are you people?"

Shen Jingqi and Cong Nanxue were taken aback. It was Li Baiyu's voice, but her tone was completely different. They exchanged puzzled glances, unsure of what to do.

"Senior, what's wrong with you? It's me, Shen Jingqi!" Shen Jingqi said anxiously.

But Li Baiyu did not respond, just looked at them coldly. Suddenly, she stood up and started walking toward the door.

"Wait! Where are you going?" Shen Jingqi chased after her.

Li Baiyu stopped and looked back at him, "I'm going home."

But her home is right here! Shen Jingqi grew even more perplexed. He looked at Li Baiyu, trying to find a hint of familiarity in her eyes, but failed.

"Is she possessed by something?" the man suddenly suggested.

Possessed? The words struck Shen Jingqi. Could the shadow that Tuantuan saw not only be related to the man's sister but also have possessed Li Baiyu?

He looked at Li Baiyu, trying to reach her with words, "Senior, listen to me. You're possessed by something. You have to try to control yourself and not let it control you!"

But Li Baiyu did not respond, just continued to look at them coldly. Suddenly, she turned and ran towards the staircase.

"Quick, chase her!" Shen Jingqi shouted.

They rushed after her, only to see Li Baiyu running down the stairs at a swift pace. Shen Jingqi and the man gave chase without hesitation.

They pursued her to the gate of the community, where Li Baiyu suddenly stopped. She looked back at them and gave a cold smile, "You really are persistent."

Shen Jingqi and Cong Nanxue exchanged glances, filled with caution. They did not know what entity had possessed Li Baiyu, but it clearly was not harmless.

"Who are you? Why did you possess Li Baiyu?" Shen Jingqi shouted.

At that moment, Shen Jingqi suddenly thought of Tuantuan. He turned and ran towards the inner area of the community, shouting, "Tuantuan! Come help!"

Hearing Shen Jingqi's call, Tuantuan came charging out from a corner.

It leaped forward, its mouth open in a bite.

But Li Baiyu turned around, with hands in pockets, suddenly exuding a formidable aura.

Tuantuan was startled and recoiled.

An entity lunged at Tuantuan with a speed so fast Shen Jingqi couldn't react in time.

However, Tuantuan seemed to anticipate the move and dodged it nimbly. Then, it seized the opportunity to bite the back of the entity.

The entity let out a painful scream, and its body began to blur.

At that moment, Shen Jingqi thought of a plan. He shouted, "Tuantuan! Use your bark!"

Understanding Shen Jingqi's intention, Tuantuan opened its mouth wide and let out an ear-piercing howl.

The entity was startled by the sound, and its body blurred further. Seizing the moment, Shen Jingqi lunged forward and grabbed its arm. But suddenly, it vanished.

Shen Jingqi stumbled forward and fell, hitting the ground. He looked at the empty space before him, filled with anger and helplessness. The entity was too cunning; they were powerless against it.

"It's gone!" the man shouted.

Shen Jingqi looked into the empty space, filled with doubt and fear. What exactly was this entity? Why did it possess Li Baiyu? And why did it chase them?

They turned and saw Li Baiyu standing not far away, her eyes bewildered as she looked at them. Shen Jingqi and Cong Nanxue quickly ran over.

"Senior, are you alright?" Shen Jingqi asked with concern.

"Who are you?", a cold young man's voice came from Li Baiyu's mouth.
