Chapter 126: Kitty Vase

"Tuantuan, calm down! There's nothing there!" Shen Jingqi tried to soothe Tuantuan with his voice, but Tuantuan acted as if he was deaf, completely ignoring him.

Just then, Tuantuan suddenly stopped scratching. Its body stiffened, eyes fixed on a corner of the room. There stood an antique vase, adorned with a lifelike cat pattern.

"Tuantuan, what did you see?" Shen Jingqi asked nervously, following Tuantuan's gaze but discovering nothing besides the antique vase.

Tuantuan didn't answer, only silently staring at the vase, its eyes filled with fear and despair. Suddenly, it charged towards the vase, putting all its strength into knocking the vase to the ground.

"Bang!" With a loud crash, the vase shattered into countless pieces. Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu were startled by Tuantuan's sudden action, staring blankly at the fragments on the floor, at a loss for what to do.

But Tuantuan didn't stop. It continued to dash around the room frantically, as if something were chasing it. Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu tried to catch it, but Tuantuan was too fast, completely outpacing them.

"Tuantuan! You'll get hurt if you keep this up!" Li Baiyu shouted anxiously, her voice echoing within the villa, sounding particularly desolate.

At that moment, Tuantuan suddenly stopped, standing silently in place, its gaze emitting an indescribable despair. Then, it slowly collapsed to the floor, its body twitching slightly.

"Tuantuan!" Li Baiyu exclaimed, rushing forward to hold Tuantuan tightly in her arms. But Tuantuan lay lifelessly, not moving.

"Tuantuan... what's wrong with you?" Li Baiyu cried out, her tears sliding down her cheeks, dripping onto Tuantuan's body.

Shen Jingqi was also stunned, looking at Tuantuan lying in Li Baiyu's arms, a surge of indescribable grief welling up within him. He realized that Tuantuan's loss of control might not be due to mere fear, but some supernatural force at play.

Just then, the villa's lights flickered and then went out. The entire villa was plunged into darkness.

Shen Jingqi clenched his fists tightly, trying to calm himself down.

He groped for his phone and turned on the flashlight function. A faint beam of light shone through the darkness, illuminating their path ahead.

"We need to get back to that room and see what's really there," Shen Jingqi said, leading Li Baiyu and Tuantuan back to that room.

They cautiously pushed open the door and stepped inside. Then, they saw the shattered pieces of the antique vase and, within the fragments, a faintly visible eerie green light.

"What is that?" Li Baiyu asked nervously, clutching Shen Jingqi's arm tightly.

Shen Jingqi didn't answer, simply staring at the green light. Then he slowly reached out, attempting to touch it. But as his fingers were about to reach the light, a sharp chill surged from his fingertips, causing him to jerk his hand back.

"What is this thing? Why is there such a strong chill?" Shen Jingqi murmured, his heart filled with confusion and fear.

At that moment, the green light suddenly vanished. The entire room was once again plunged into darkness.

Tuantuan broke free from Li Baiyu's embrace, silently staring at the vase fragments.

The intricate patterns on the vase flickered with an eerie glow under the light, as if concealing some unknown secret.

Shen Jingqi wondered aloud, "Tuantuan, what's wrong with it? Why has it been acting so strangely?"

Tuantuan's body trembled slightly, as if drawn by an unseen force it couldn't escape.

Li Baiyu looked at the fragments on the floor, momentarily at a loss.

Tuantuan crouched beside the pieces, its eyes vacant, as if everything that just happened had nothing to do with it.

Shen Jingqi crouched down, carefully examining the fragments on the floor, "Why did this vase shatter so easily? But Tuantuan, you really seem a bit unusual today."

Li Baiyu knelt down, looking at the fragments on the floor, her heart a mix of emotions.

At that time, Li Baiyu had just adopted Tuantuan, and her life seemed to have found a new purpose. She told Cong Nanxue that now with Tuantuan's company, she might be in less contact with Cong Nanxue in the future. Cong Nanxue's face showed a complicated expression when she heard this, but she quickly regained her calm. Shortly after, Cong Nanxue gave Li Baiyu this cat vase as a gift.

Li Baiyu looked at the exquisite vase, feeling a little guilty. She knew that, since adopting Tuantuan, her contact with Cong Nanxue had indeed lessened a lot. Cong Nanxue was always an enthusiastic and sincere friend, but she had recently neglected her feelings because of Tuantuan. To make up for this guilt, Li Baiyu accepted the vase and always kept it with her.

"This vase..." Li Baiyu murmured, her thoughts interrupted by Tuantuan. Tuantuan sniffed around the fragments, as if searching for something.

Suddenly, the fragments began to glow with some green light, faint but eye-catching. Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu exchanged bewildered glances, their eyes full of confusion.

Li Baiyu and Shen Jingqi widened their eyes, staring at that green light.

"Green light? What's going on?" Shen Jingqi asked in surprise.

Li Baiyu didn't answer; she carefully reached out to move the fragments. As she did so, the green light grew brighter,

As the green light flickered, a small object gradually appeared on the floor, stuck to a larger piece, emitting a faint glow.

What is this?

Shen Jingqi picked it up for a closer look.

On closer inspection, Shen Jingqi discovered that the small object was actually a tracker.

Shen Jingqi's eyes widened, "A tracker? Why is there a tracker inside this vase?"

Li Baiyu's face turned pale as she recalled the scene when Cong Nanxue gave her the vase. At that time, Cong Nanxue's smile was so bright, her tone so sincere, she never imagined there would be such a tracker hidden inside the vase.

"Why would Cong Nanxue give me a vase with a tracker?" Li Baiyu murmured, her heart filled with confusion and fear.

Li Baiyu's face instantly turned pale as she recalled the scene when Cong Nanxue gave her the vase, "This vase was given to me by Cong Nanxue..."

Shen Jingqi looked at Li Baiyu, his tone serious, "Cong Nanxue? Why would she give you a vase with a tracker?"

Li Baiyu shook her head, her eyes full of bewilderment, "I don't know, she just said that she had bought it especially for me, that it was very precious..."

"Precious? So precious that it needs a tracker inside?" Shen Jingqi furrowed his brows, his doubts growing ever more intense.
