Chapter 125 Cat's Out of Control

Woo woo woo!

At this moment, Tuantuan's fur suddenly bristled and stood on end, like a silver dandelion that bloomed instantly. Its pupils were wide open, reflecting not the usual feather toy, but an unexpected figure—Cong Nanxue.

"Tuantuan, what's wrong?" Li Baiyu called out in surprise, seeing this.

Shen Jingqi grasped Li Baiyu firmly while sharply scanning Tuantuan, trying to find the source that made it so tense.

"Look at its eyes," Li Baiyu pointed at Tuantuan, her voice trembling slightly.

Shen Jingqi followed Li Baiyu's finger direction, Tuantuan's pupils like small, open windows, clearly reflecting a silhouette inside.

"Cong Nanxue? How could she be here?" Shen Jingqi murmured in disbelief as he looked around, but except for the three of them, the room was empty.

Tuantuan suddenly emitted a low and urgent growl, its body tense, as if ready to attack at any moment.

"Tuantuan, calm down!" Li Baiyu tried to soothe Tuantuan, but her voice felt powerless in the face of Tuantuan's anger.

Shen Jingqi quickly pulled Li Baiyu behind him, standing in front, his gaze locked onto Tuantuan's hostile eyes.

"What did it see? Or was it just an illusion?" Shen Jingqi asked in a deep voice, while trying to calm Tuantuan with his eyes, but Tuantuan seemed completely uninterested.

Just then, Tuantuan's pupils suddenly shrank, and the silhouette of Cong Nanxue disappeared without a trace. Tuantuan's body relaxed, fur gently flattening, though the alertness in its eyes hadn't completely dissipated.

"What was that just now?" Li Baiyu asked with a pale face, she'd never seen Tuantuan like this.

Shen Jingqi shook his head, equally filled with confusion and unease. "Not sure, maybe it has to do with Cong Nanxue."

"Cong Nanxue? How could it be her?" Li Baiyu felt a bit uneasy.

"Yes, she shouldn't be here," Shen Jingqi frowned deeply, a sense of ominous foreboding rising in his heart.

At this moment, Tuantuan suddenly became tense again, fur standing up, eyes fixed on a corner of the living room.

"What's wrong, Tuantuan?" Li Baiyu tightly grasped Shen Jingqi's arm.

Shen Jingqi followed Tuantuan's gaze, but saw nothing, only neatly arranged furniture.

"Tuantuan, what did you see?" Shen Jingqi tried to make his voice sound calm, but the inner tension was hard to conceal.

Tuantuan didn't respond, only continued growling deeply, its body slightly leaning forward, ready to pounce at the unseen target.

Suddenly, the lights in the living room flickered momentarily, then returned to normal. But in that brief darkness, Shen Jingqi seemed to see a blurry figure swiftly pass from the corner of the living room.

"Did you see it?" Shen Jingqi hurriedly asked Li Baiyu.

Li Baiyu was even paler, nodding. "It seemed... there was a shadow."

"Cong Nanxue?" Shen Jingqi asked tentatively.

Li Baiyu nodded again, her eyes full of fear and unease.

At that moment, Tuantuan suddenly rushed towards that corner, but just as it was about to pounce, nothing was there. Tuantuan drew a silver arc mid-air, then crashed heavily onto the ground, making a loud "bang."

"Tuantuan!" Li Baiyu exclaimed, rushing forward to hold Tuantuan tightly in her arms.

Tuantuan trembled slightly in Li Baiyu's arms, eyes filled with confusion and fear.

Shen Jingqi looked around, trying to spot the mysterious silhouette's trace, but the living room remained empty except for the three of them.

"What should we do?" Li Baiyu's voice was shaky, she'd never experienced such eerie events.

Shen Jingqi took a deep breath, trying to keep calm. "Don't panic, we need to find out what's happening."

He went to the living room window, quickly pulled open the curtains, and looked outside. But besides the pitch-black night sky and occasional gusts of wind, there was nothing.

"Cong Nanxue couldn't possibly appear here without reason, nor transform into an invisible ghost," Shen Jingqi mused aloud.

"Then where exactly is she? Why did Tuantuan see her?" Li Baiyu, holding Tuantuan, asked closely behind Shen Jingqi.

Shen Jingqi didn't answer, his gaze swept over every corner of the living room again, looking for any possible clue.

"Tuantuan, don't be afraid," Li Baiyu picked up Tuantuan, gently soothing it, trying to calm Tuantuan's fear with her gentle voice.

But Tuantuan's body still trembled slightly, eyes wide open, full of alertness and unease.

Shen Jingqi stood by, his sharp gaze scanning the surroundings, as if searching for something. "There's no problem here, why did Tuantuan suddenly get so scared?" he mused aloud, with confusion growing wild in his mind like weeds.

At that moment, Tuantuan suddenly became restless in Li Baiyu's arms, claws gripping tightly on her clothes, emitting low and urgent growls.

"Tuantuan!" Li Baiyu cried out in shock, trying to calm Tuantuan, but Tuantuan was like insane, struggling to escape from her arms, rushing towards a corner of the villa.

"What's wrong? Tuantuan!" Shen Jingqi shouted nervously, following closely behind Tuantuan, trying to stop its frantic behavior. But Tuantuan was like lost control, madly running around the room, knocking over tables and chairs, breaking vases, as if something was chasing it.

"Tuantuan, stop! You'll get hurt!" Li Baiyu shouted anxiously, trying to catch Tuantuan, but Tuantuan was too fast, she couldn't catch up.

Shen Jingqi then quickly scanned the surroundings, trying to find the reason for Tuantuan's loss of control. "What's here? Why is Tuantuan so frightened?" he mused aloud, searching every corner of the villa with his eyes.

Shen Jingqi felt a sense of ominous foreboding, realizing that the reason for Tuantuan's loss of control might not be simple.

At that moment, Tuantuan suddenly rushed towards a tightly closed room door, frantically scratching the doorknob, screaming harshly.

"Tuantuan! What's there?" Shen Jingqi asked nervously, trying to approach Tuantuan, but Tuantuan was like mad, completely ignoring him.

Li Baiyu was also terrified, clutching Shen Jingqi's arm tightly, her voice trembling as she said, "Let's... let's open that door and take a look."

Shen Jingqi nodded, took a deep breath, then pushed the door open forcefully. But behind the door was a pitch-black void, nothing could be seen.

"Tuantuan, don't be afraid, we're here." Shen Jingqi said while turning on the room lights, but at the moment the lights came on, both he and Li Baiyu froze.

The room was empty, nothing was there. But Tuantuan still frantically scratched at the doorknob, as if something was hidden behind the door, ready to pounce out at any moment.
