Multiple Personalities

Chapter 122 Brain Wave Patterns

Shen Jingqi nodded: "Let's go find Professor Chen and see if he has any way to help you."

Li Baiyu nodded, and together with Shen Jingqi walked out of the dormitory. They arrived at Professor Chen's office and detailed Li Baiyu's recent situation to him.

After listening to their account, Professor Chen frowned tightly. He looked at Li Baiyu, a hint of worry flashing in his eyes: "Li Baiyu, your situation is indeed very complex. But don't worry, we will figure out a way to help you together."

Hearing this, a trace of hope surged in Li Baiyu's heart. She looked at Professor Chen and Shen Jingqi, her eyes shining with a determined light: "I trust you both, I will definitely find my true self!"

Professor Chen looked at the determination in Li Baiyu's eyes and nodded inwardly. He knew this was a strong and brave girl with the courage and determination to overcome difficulties.

"Alright, let's start with a test." Professor Chen said, pulling a blank sheet of paper and a pen from the drawer, "Li Baiyu, write down on this paper all of your sub-personalities, along with your feelings and impressions of them."

Li Baiyu took the paper and pen and began to write carefully. She wrote down the names Lin Xiaocan and Lucky Sister, as well as her feelings and impressions of them. When she finished, she found the paper densely filled with words.

Professor Chen took the paper and examined it carefully, nodding as if deep in thought.

"Li Baiyu, you indeed have many sub-personalities, and each one has its own unique character and traits." Professor Chen said to Li Baiyu, "But don't worry, there are methods to help you integrate these sub-personalities and find your true self."

Upon hearing this, anticipation welled up in Li Baiyu's heart. She looked at Professor Chen, waiting for his next words.

"First, we need to understand the hidden emotions and experiences behind each of your sub-personalities." Professor Chen said, pulling out a notebook and a recording pen from the drawer, "Li Baiyu, try to recall the emotions and experiences each sub-personality brings out when they appear."

Li Baiyu nodded and began to recall seriously. She remembered that when Lin Xiaocan appeared, she always felt filled with musical talent and passion; and when Lucky Sister appeared, she always felt rebellious and unruly. She detailed these emotions and experiences to Professor Chen.

Professor Chen listened and took notes, a pensive expression on his face. When he finished listening to Li Baiyu's account, he looked up at her: "Li Baiyu, your sub-personalities are indeed closely related to your emotions and experiences. We need to find methods to help you integrate these emotions and experiences so that you can find your true self."

Upon hearing this, hope surged in Li Baiyu's heart.

"So, what should we do?" Shen Jingqi asked impatiently.

Professor Chen looked at Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu, his eyes flashing with a determined light: "We need to conduct a series of psychological therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, among others. Through these therapies, we can help you understand the hidden emotions and experiences behind each sub-personality and help you integrate these emotions and experiences."

Li Baiyu and Shen Jingqi nodded upon hearing this. They knew it would be a long and challenging process.

"Please be aware that in the coming period, your multiple personalities may appear one after another, and you must be prepared."

Professor Chen looked gravely at Li Baiyu and Shen Jingqi.

"Based on your accounts, it seems you are indeed caught up in a complex mystery. Li Baiyu is not only affected by Multiple Personalities but also experiences strange illusions. If the consciousness entity Cong Nanxue spoke of truly exists, it might be intricately linked to the events you previously encountered."

"So what should we do now?" Shen Jingqi inquired again.

Professor Chen took a deep breath, seeming to come to a decision: "I think we should find someone. He might provide us with some new clues."

"Who?" Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu asked in unison.

"An old friend of mine, an expert in the field of neuroscience. He might offer us clues from a neurological perspective." Professor Chen said.

Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu exchanged a glance.

After bidding farewell to Professor Chen, Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu arrived at Professor Chen's old friend—Professor Zhang's laboratory.

The laboratory was located in a modern research building, filled with various advanced instruments and equipment. Professor Zhang, a thin, kind-faced elderly man, welcomed them warmly.

After understanding their situation, Professor Zhang expressed his willingness to offer support. He led them to a special room in the laboratory, where there was a very complex-looking machine.

"This is our newly developed brainwave analyzer, capable of real-time monitoring and analyzing brain activity states," Professor Zhang introduced, "I think, with this machine, we might try to capture traces of the consciousness entity Cong Nanxue mentioned."

Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu nodded in agreement. Hence, Li Baiyu laid down on the device and donned the helmet connecting her to it. Professor Zhang activated the machine and began monitoring Li Baiyu's brain activity.

Time ticked by, the room filled only with the hum of the machine and Li Baiyu's soft breathing. Shen Jingqi stood nervously by, his gaze fixed on the monitor. Suddenly, the waveform on the monitor began to fluctuate wildly.

"Look!" Professor Zhang exclaimed, pointing at the monitor.

Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu leaned closer to see a strange waveform pattern on the screen. The pattern twisted and eerie, seemingly containing some mysterious power.

"What is this?" Shen Jingqi asked, surprised.

"This might be... the waveform pattern of a consciousness entity." Professor Zhang's voice trembled slightly, "It seems the consciousness entity Cong Nanxue spoke of really exists."

"So what should we do now?" Li Baiyu asked, her voice trembling.

Professor Zhang took a deep breath, seemingly trying to calm himself: "I think we need to further analyze this waveform pattern and find out its origin and characteristics. Only then can we find a solution."

Thus, Shen Jingqi followed Professor Zhang into a tense analysis task. Time slipped by, and they forgot both hunger and fatigue, with only one thought in mind—to unravel this mystery as soon as possible.

Finally, after hours of effort, they made a significant discovery.

"Look here!" Professor Zhang exclaimed, pointing to a detail on the monitor, "This waveform pattern is closely related to Li Baiyu's brain activity. But strangely, it doesn't seem to be entirely under Li Baiyu's control."
