Mr. President Begs for Remarriage After Seeing Our Kids

Chapter 4: Chapter 4 Long Time No See

"All of this is my fault."

If she hadn't strongly opposed Yu Siting being with Zhao Xue'er, perhaps Yu Siting would have seen through Zhao Xue'er's true nature long ago.

Yan Xi bit her lip, her heart moved, her nose souring with the rush of countless grievances.

She stiffened her breath, suppressed the urge to cry, smiled faintly, and spoke softly.

"Grandma, it's not your fault, it's just that Siting and I weren't meant to be."

She and Yu Siting had been married for three years. Even if she had warmed a block of ice, it might have melted a bit, but Yu Siting still hadn't fallen in love with her, so she couldn't blame anyone.

Mrs. Yu clutched Yan Xi's hand tightly, "Good child, Siting will someday realize that you are the one who truly cares for him."

"As long as I am here, the position of Young Mistress of Yu Family will always be yours."

Mrs. Yu's face was grave, and Yan Xi, deeply moved, thought that even if her marriage with Yu Siting wouldn't last long, she had still gained a grandmother who truly cared for her during this marriage.

So, it seemed not so regrettable after all.

Yan Xi waited until Mrs. Yu was asleep before leaving the hospital room.

After stepping out of the hospital room, she quietly closed the door and immediately saw Yu Siting sitting on a chair outside the ward.

Their eyes met inadvertently, and Yan Xi quickly averted her gaze, responding lightly.

"Grandma is asleep."

"You should go back. I'll stay here."

As soon as she finished speaking, a servant nearby immediately said,

"Young master, Young Mistress, both of you go back and rest. I will watch over the old lady."

"You and the young master have to work tomorrow, and you have surgeries to perform, you can't afford any negligence, and you both need rest."

Just as Yan Xi was about to speak, Yu Siting stood up from the chair, glanced at her coldly, and said in a deep voice,

"I'll drive you home."

Yan Xi intended to refuse, but the man walked past her with a stern face.

She bit her lip and followed Yu Siting out of the hospital.

From the corner of his eye, Yu Siting could see the reflection of Yan Xi following behind him in the windows.

She hung her head, looking somewhat pitiful.

The two were silent all the way.

Upon reaching their residence, Yu Siting stopped the car, and Yan Xi quickly opened the door and got out.

Her pace was much quicker than before.

Yu Siting frowned slightly, his words stuck in his throat, his eyes darkening.

"Drive!"

Yan Xi watched the car drive away without trying to keep him. They were bound to divorce sooner or later, and since Yu Siting refused to help the Yan Family, she had to find another way.

Then there was the child, Yan Xi gently touched her stomach, not knowing how much longer she could keep it a secret.

As the car left, Yu Siting's mind flashed back to Yan Xi's devastated expression when he rejected her divorce condition, a wave of irritation surged within him, and he tugged his tie, his eyes sharpening.

"Find out which companies breached the contract with the Yan Family," his cold voice filled the car.

The assistant in the front seat was momentarily stunned, thinking he had heard wrong, glancing at the expressionless man in the rearview mirror, and promptly responded,

"Yes, President."

That night, Yu Siting did not return home.

Early the next morning.

Yan Xi got up early to cook a clear porridge for Mrs. Yu and took it to the hospital.

Carrying the meal box, she had just entered the hospital when she suddenly ran into a weary-looking Yu Siting, stepping out from the inside.

He was still wearing the suit from last night, his handsome face full of fatigue.

Had he actually stayed here all night with Grandma?

Caught by surprise, Yan Xi lightly pursed her lips, stepped forward, and was about to greet Yu Siting when a clear and surprised male voice called out from not far away,

"Yan Xi?"

Yan Xi turned around, the astonishment and delight in her eyes could not be hidden.

"Xicheng?!"

Her voice was first filled with doubt, then certainty as she recognized the man standing not far away who was Qin Xicheng, her childhood playmate who had moved abroad with his family several years ago.

"It's been a long time."

Her eyes smiled as she walked towards Qin Xicheng.

Qin Xicheng also walked briskly towards her, stretched out his long arms, enveloped Yan Xi in a tight embrace, and held her close for a long time.

"It indeed has been a while, I wonder if you have missed me during the time I was away?"

Yan Xi was startled— unaccustomed to the man's sudden embrace.

She felt awkward, but she figured that to Qin Xicheng, who had been living abroad for years, a simple hug was nothing more than a handshake, merely a matter of formality.

Her gaze almost immediately sought Yu Siting, her eyes hastily trying to explain.

Yu Siting looked up to see Yan Xi being pulled into another man's embrace, his steps briefly faltering, his eyes and brows turning icy, noticing that Yan Xi did not struggle; his gaze grew colder.

He set his face, withdrew his gaze from the two, and strode away.

Yan Xi saw Yu Siting heading straight out of the hospital without giving her a single glance from start to finish, a trace of gloom fleeting across the depths of her eyes.

"Of course."

She softly replied to Qin Xicheng's question, her tone filled with weariness.

She missed not only Qin Xicheng but also the time before he had emigrated.

Back then, she hadn't met Yu Siting yet, hadn't experienced her first stirrings of love; everything was beautiful and without troubles.

Years had passed, and Qin Xicheng's features remained clear and bright, while she had lately seemed somewhat worn.

Yan Xi took a step back, moving out of Qin Xicheng's embrace.

With the sudden emptiness in his arms, Qin Xicheng couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

Yan Xi smiled and shifted the topic.

"Are you feeling unwell?"

Qin Xicheng shook his head slightly, his gaze intense as he watched Yan Xi and smiled.

"I came here specifically to see you."

Yan Xi paused, her expression mixing slight confusion and perplexity, her gaze instinctively searching for Yu Siting.

Seeing her reaction, Qin Xicheng couldn't help but laugh softly.

"When I moved abroad, you cried so much, so I thought the first thing I should do when I return is to see you."

"I also need a medical check-up, so I specifically registered under your service."

Listening to Qin Xicheng, Yan Xi pressed her lips; the Qin Family had lived next door to the Yan Family, and having grown up together with Qin Xicheng and then parted in high school, Yan Xi naturally felt sorrowful when he left, but it was not about love.

Her gaze just caught Yu Siting's retreating figure, which seemed to tell Yan Xi that he was disinterested in her conversation with other men.

Outside the hospital, the driver had already arrived, parking the car in front of Yu Siting.

The man bent down to get into the car without any hesitation.

They had been married for three years, with few outsiders aware of their marital status; Yu Siting must have hurried away so as not to have Yan Xi greet him, which was why he left in such a rush.

After all, he had always been reluctant to publicize their relationship.

Yan Xi withdrew her gaze, looked at the lunchbox in her hands not yet delivered to Mrs. Yu, then lifted her eyes to Qin Xicheng, managing a slight smile and concealing all her despair and sadness.

"I need to deliver something to someone; you can go wait in my office. I'll be back shortly to check up on you."

Qin Xicheng nodded slightly, withdrew his gaze from Yan Xi's departing figure, and looked towards the direction where Yu Siting's car had left.

Outside the hospital.

Yu Siting got into the car with a stern face, a sense of inexplicable irritation rising in his heart that clearly etched all his displeasure on his face.

Seeing his expression, scarier than any before, the assistant driving in front barely dared to breathe.

Realizing his own state, Yu Siting's deep, dark eyes sank a bit, and after calming down, he indifferently asked,

"Did you find out about the matter I asked you to check yesterday?"
