Mountain Sitting Immortal

The boy was short. He was about one meter tall, and he was pale white so to the divine sense, he looked like a cloud.

He was as white as a sheet of paper from his hair to his toe. This made him look like a ghost. His translucent projected form only reinforced this image.

The sight of the small boy didn't make Arthur feel anything strange. But for those who've seen Patriarch Sword Flash's body, they would realize that the boy looked suspiciously like him.

The boy was to be the speaker and overseer of the meeting. He started the meeting by listing out the agenda for the meeting.

"Welcome, everyone. Today is a special day for the Blood Skull sect as we welcome the addition of a new golden core cultivator to our midst."

Some people clapped at that. Others nodded at him. But some appeared to be sleeping, and others were completely frozen.

The 26 of them had various reactions. The boy didn't care.

He continued speaking after a round of half-hearted applause, "This meeting will be held today solely because of Daoist Lightning Tyrant. The sect will give him gifts, and then he will be assigned a duty."

The way the boy spoke reminded Arthur of the message he received after advancing to the fourth mortal coil. That message was the one from the council hall that told him about this meeting.

As Arthur listened to the boy speak, he had a feeling that it was the boy who sent the message to him. It also made him think that if his suspicion was true, this boy was more influential than he expected.

The boy said to Arthur, "In lieu of gifts, you will be given a memory crystal with some information about the world of Ethera in general. You will also be allowed to pick one nascent soul inheritance. Lastly, you will be given one protection mechanism from every patriarch."

After listing out everything that Arthur would get, the boy said, "This is according to the tradition of the sect and rules set by the founders. If there are to be any changes to this, two-thirds of the leadership of the sect must support the changes."

Then the boy asked everyone in a loud voice, "Does anyone have any changes they wish to suggest concerning the gifts to be given to Daoist Lightning Tyrant?"

The boy became silent as he waited for anyone to speak up. But after waiting for a minute, no one said anything.

Not that speaking would lead to any changes because it was currently impossible for any suggestion to gather two-thirds support of the leadership. This was because only the three Patriarchs could vote to support a suggestion that affects something directed by the founders of the sect, but there were only two Patriarchs here.

The only way for any support to gain the right amount of support was if Thunder Drake and Evergreen worked together. That was unlikely to happen.

The boy knew that it was nearly impossible for the two of them to work together. But he still gave the golden core elders their chance to make a suggestion because it was part of the formality.

It was part of the rules to allow a minute of time for people to make suggestions. When no one spoke after a minute of waiting, the boy moved on.

He said, "Now that the matter of gifts has been settled. It is time to settle what post to assign Daoist Lightning Tyrant."

"I will start by listing out the currently available postings. The first of which is the duty to bring some of our disciples to the Purple Flower sect to facilitate the training program that we agreed to during an earlier council meeting."

"The second posting is to show the disciples of the Purple Flower sect that will be sent here around and help them train. This post will require going to work at the outer sect."

"The third posting is to work in the mission created by Patriarch Sword Flash to create a rank 5 version of the Silver Pine Tree. This is also the last available mission."

After listing out the available options, it said, "According to the order of things, the Patriarchs will choose which posting they want a golden core elder to manage. If the Patriarchs have no thoughts on the matter, the golden core elders will choose themselves and will vote on it."

"But before we decide, it has to be remembered that we didn't decide any posting for Daoist Storm Hawk last time when we held a meeting for her. This was because the mission she could do needed another person."

"No one was available to help her, so we postponed assigning a post to her. Now that we have a new golden core elder, option 1 and option 2 are now open again for both Daoist Storm Hawk and Daoist Lightning Tyrant to pick."

"Now that everything I need to say has been said, the Patriarchs can pick. If not, we will decide who gets to go where by voting."

As soon as he stopped speaking, Lady Evergreen's humanoid plant avatar spoke, "It is good that we finally have two free people to take charge of this exchange program. I thought we would have to sidetrack it since all of you were too busy to do it."

As she said that, she glanced at everyone who came in the form of a projection. Not one of them dared to meet her glance.

After accusing them of betraying her and intimidating them, Lady Evergreen felt better. So she continued with a better tone.

"Since we have two people, let the first one pick one of the two options. The second one will have to do the second mission."

The boy turned to Patriarch Thunder Drake and asked, "Do you have any objections, sir?"

Thunder Drake replied, "Let's do it like that."

Even though he agreed with Evergreen's suggestion, she still snorted at him in dissatisfaction. He replied by ignoring her.
