Monster Gacha System: Becoming The Final Boss

Chapter 050 | Noble Extermination

Hearing the indifferent words of the black-suited young man, the blond noble vampire chuckled as though he had heard a foolish joke. His crimson eyes gleamed with madness as he roared at him. "You damn arrogant Jaeger! I won't settle for just killing you."

"I will preserve your corpse and desecrate it with my subjects!"

His name was Tobias Fritz, one of the new generation Nobles who were the first traitors of humanity. His status as an owner of lower creatures was well-known throughout the Clan.

Bestowed with a Blood Technique, he was capable of surviving anyone and anything as long as they weren't the Paragons or the True Bloods. His arrogance wasn't unfounded, as his power correlated with augmented blood transformations.

Its name was Carapace.

Regardless, Nobles of the New World were the most numerous among the nobles of the Clan. It all started after Heaven's Fall and the second impact that ravaged the modern world. Vampires emerged from the darkness, seducing the wealthy and the powerful to join their ranks.

It didn't even take a week for humanity to become slaves of the newly arrived cryptids, the Vampires. Those who were supposed to be at the forefront of humankind's efforts against the changing world betrayed them. It was a tragedy that cost millions of lives.

The militaries of various nations crumbled, civilians became helpless, and an authoritarian regime was formed. One after another, humans were abducted and siphoned of their blood. They became livestock to the fanged bastards.

However, it all changed when the metahumans awakened their Brands. At first, those with such remarkable capabilities were captured and killed by the vampires. But the strongest of the metahumans then united under one banner, forming the Paragons.

Three years under the Regime of the Clan, a revolution began that brought chaos throughout the entirety of the Continental Americas. The vampires were forced to the south, and the Federation of North America was established alongside SIGIL.

But the revolution didn't end on a happy note. The war between humanity and the vampires brought forth untold destruction. With the inclusion of the Aberrants and the post-apocalyptic races under the cryptids, it was no different from a warring age.

Nevertheless, the New World calmed down when the seventh Paragon herself crushed a couple of Paragons and was declared the strongest of humanity. The remaining Paragons would be under the banner of SIGIL. A price for their lives and freedom within the changing era.

It was for this reason that only the sixth Paragon and Block 6 were thought of as the loyalists of the Federation. The surviving Paragons were no different from metahuman warlords operating in the authority of the nation.

Some even mounted an army for themselves, while others governed their own states without the complete jurisdiction of the Federation.

At any rate, Tobias activated his Blood Technique, bringing forth a crimson armored skin that augmented his abilities to reach the level of the True Bloods. Of course, this was without the latter utilizing their Brands.

Even then, the basic attributes of the True Bloods rivalled those of the Paragons. The sixth Paragon was already troublesome to Damien. During that moment, the old swordmaster hadn't even used his Brand yet. But the heart of the black-suited young man remained calm.

'Augmentation, huh?' He narrowed his gaze and observed the noble vampire before him, who was already relishing in the thought of beheading the body of the black-suited young man and defiling it.

'If I want to fight him. I must ensure that no distractions gather around.' Damien thought to himself and glanced at the barely alive young girl lying on the cold floor beside the bed. Activating his raptured blink, a black mist quietly enveloped the girl and teleported her out of the luxurious room.

"Huh?" Tobias raised his eyebrows and saw that his meal had already disappeared from his sight. Anger flared from his crimson eyes as he glared at the young man in front of him. "You dare steal my food?"

The noble vampire bolted towards the black-suited young man. His body vanished from the bed, immediately appearing beside Damien. He wanted to strangle the bastard who stole from him, but as his claws reached the young man's neck.

He felt nothing.

His pale, clawed hand passed through the neck of the black-suited young man, who gazed upon him with cold indifference. "It doesn't matter how fast you are if you cannot hit me."

This personal ability belonged to his two-star extraterrestrial summoned monster, Eclipse. It was designated as Intangible Fracture, an ability he always used to avoid being hit by adversaries much powerful and faster than himself.

The power was automatic, though it cost him Command Seals. But intangibility was too overpowering to ignore. As long as it wasn't those physics-breaking Brands or Blood Techniques he was fighting against, Damien was confident.

Without any hesitation or delay, he took the opportunity and launched a swift roundhouse to the face of the blond vampire. Unable to react in time, the noble vampire was flung towards the ornate wall, shattering it into pieces and hurtling him into the hallway.

Tobias clenched his teeth, veins snapping in anger. The only thoughts that flooded his mind were the death of that black-suited young man. That bastard must die. Otherwise, he would never be able to forget this humiliation.

Turning his wrathful gaze towards the young man, the noble vampire noticed a black mist enveloping his opponent. His bloodshot eyes widened as Damien teleported out of the luxurious room.

He swiftly looked upward, perceiving the presence of the black-suited young man on the rooftop of the secured compound. Suddenly, he pounced towards the skies, puncturing through layers of concrete along the way.

It didn't take long for him to see his hated adversary standing amidst the stormy night. Tobias lunged with rage, wanting to snap the bastard's body in half. But the same as before, his body passed through the young man as though he was fighting against nothing.

"You're fast and strong. Perhaps, with my physique, I wouldn't be able to defeat you. But that doesn't mean you'll be able to kill me either. It's useless." Damien shook his head, enraging the noble vampire further.

The explosive battle outside the fortified compound intensified as the guards of the Rotte Family were barely holding the line against these aetheric beasts. Some metahumans even assisted them.

But those who dared to attack the summoned monsters alone were eaten alive in mere moments. Those who belonged to the criminal syndicate could only reactively defend against the assault of the aetheric beasts.

"Who are you?" Tobias questioned, wanting to engrave this bastard's name before killing him. That would provide sufficient satisfaction for the humiliation he had gone through this night.

Damien glanced at the blond noble vampire with his sable-tinted irises, maintaining a sense of aloofness. His heart was calmed, as though he wasn't fighting against an enemy who overwhelmed his senses. "My name... It is Oberon."

"Remember it in hell."

Several silver chains lunged from the ground, shackling the vampire in place. Dozens more followed as a sense of oppression consumed the entirety of his body. Tobias couldn't move a single muscle as though he had been sealed on the spot.

But he remained confident of his defenses. His armor was amongst the strongest in the noble ranking of the Clan. Even those aetheric weapons wouldn't be able to pierce through the surface of his Blood Technique.

Tobias grinned at the black-suited young man and snarled. "Just wait until I break these chains you ant! I won't forget every moment once I peel your skin from your hideous body!"

Damien watched the noble vampire struggling and summoned more chains to shackle this animal. He could see the blond bastard weakening as the Chains of Judgment consumed his strength and stamina.

'It shouldn't take long. The preparations will be ready.' He thought to himself and walked away from the noble vampire. On the other hand, Tobias roared at him, screaming at him to not escape and continued struggling against the silver chains.

"Oberon! Don't you dare escape and run! If you do, I'll hunt those women and children you saved!" The blond vampire growled at the black-suited young man, cursing his name in every moment.

Damien glanced at the trash for one last time and shook his head. "As I said before, remember me in hell. Many more will follow."

In the distance was the pulsating aetheric cannon whose radiating barrel was pointed at the rooftop where the noble vampire stood. Damien held this weapon with familiarity and observed the trash through its magnified scope. After feeding his weapon enough Aether, he pulled the trigger.

Brilliance shone from where he crouched as a beam of light pierced through the night, illuminating everything within its path. Condensed and fluctuating energy hummed as a screech echoed throughout the heavens.

Tobias felt a sense of dread flood his heart as his instincts screamed at him to dodge. But he had already exhausted himself trying to break the silver chains that shackled him. Then, he saw a radiant flash consuming his entirety.

It was a beam that engulfed the entirety of his body. The noble vampire couldn't even scream as his body disintegrated into dust and ash. Left behind from his death was a gigantic hole puncturing through every floor of the fortified compound before impacting the ground.

The penetrating power of the aetheric cannon wasn't to be underestimated.

As the aetheric cannon returned to its original form, Damien held the handle of the briefcase tightly and decided to end the operation. "I don't sense any nobles anymore. It seems that only one remained."

"With no hostages left, everyone inside the fortified compound is an adversary. Complete annihilation is paramount." He glanced at the shattered skies where the storm clouds surged.

"Eclipse, it's time."
