MMORPG: Rebirth of the Legendary TimeKeeper

Chapter 90: Responsibility

In front of me was a video of a gray-haired man lying above a woman, humping her to the best of his ability while the woman screamed 'Daddy!' 'Daddy!' In the video. Soon, the man changed his position, with his face facing the hidden camera, while he enjoyed the intimacy to the best of his ability.

"This!!!!"

"Hot Damn!"

Behind me, the two girls looked at the guy with shocked expressions. Their eyes couldn't bear to look away from that man, not because he was handsome but because he was very, very familiar to the girls.

He was Lucas Bellimore, Alexandra's eldest brother.

"Who is… that woman?" Alexandra asked, as she looked at the girl that was clearly not Aleena, the one whom Lucas was married to. Though somehow the black hair and that body shape were peculiar, someone that Alexandra felt like she knew, but couldn't pin-point.

"She is Tiara Reeve, Lucas's best friend's girlfriend," I explained before taking a few screenshots, and finding a few more relative videos of them entering and exiting the premise. Downloading them all, along with a few scandalous articles that I had collected from before, I put them on a pen drive before presenting it to Alexandra.

"Mikael, this is…" Alexandra glanced at the video still playing, while looking at the pen-drive. Slowly taking it from my hands, she still couldn't believe that it was real.

"Hopefully, this should ease the burden on you a bit," I smiled.

A slight pause for a few seconds before…

"MIKEAL!!!!" She hugged me tightly, kissing me on my cheek for a few seconds, before leaving me as she hugged that pen-drive, as if it were her own child. Wiping my cheeks with a tissue, I explained,

"I did search for a lot of scandals and stuff about every rich person I could. It was done to make completely sure that I got the recommendation from Silva. I didn't think it would come in handy in this way, though."

Looking at Alexandra's idiotic, blissful smile, Silva couldn't help but shake her head in amusement.

Just a few seconds ago, Alexandra was so depressed as if her entire world was breaking apart. Yet now she seems like the happiest person in the world.

"Do it a few more times, and she will fall in love with you," Silva spoke with a slight chuckle. Then, turning to me as she asked,

"You do have an idea of what you have done, right?"

I nodded. Obviously I do. I had just provided information that could change the power structure of the 4th generation Bellimores.

"The favour of trust had to be returned someway," I added, making her nod at me. Alexandra then looked at me, her eyes seemingly trying to convey something, but for some reason she couldn't say it.

So she wants to go and pull down her brother without wasting any time, huh? Is she worried that I might find it rude that she is leaving as soon as she gets my help? Her expressions were interesting to read.

"Go. You might get busy with this," I let her leave.

Her eyes glistened as she bowed politely, thanking me for the help before hurriedly leaving from there. Silva seemed like she wanted to talk a bit more with me, but was pulled away by Alexandra as they both left the apartment.

"You girls are leaving?" Mom, who had finally finished her bath, came out to see the girls hastily getting out.

"Urgent matters, aunty! We will come again!" Silva shouted, making Mom laugh a bit before she closed the door and moved back in.

Wearing the work dress, Mom was ready to leave as well. Though pondering the events that had happened today and the last week, I stopped her,

"Mom, can we talk for a few minutes?"

"Hmm?" Mom looked at me, and I pondered where to begin.

"I forgot to tell you since I was so tired yesterday, but that recommendation competition had prize money as well. The reason why Alexandra came to meet me for the same reasons," I decided to begin with the money on the card.

Considering what's normal, I continued,

"The original prize money was $25,000, but because I did exceptionally well, Alexandra herself came to give me the money with a bonus of $5000, making it a total of $30,000."

Mom gasped at that amount. It was about three months of her total salary.

"Why would they…" as she pondered, I explained to her the benefits they would get if I performed well in the exam, and even more so if I did well within the academy. Understanding that they were also gaining a lot of privilege through me, she found it all right to give this much reward.

In the end, there was a prideful smile on her face as she gazed at me, her son, reaching such heights.

"Also, I was working a home part-time job, fixing people's phones, plus on a website creating freelance jobs. That also netted me $2000 in a single week," I added, surprising her even more. This time, she looked at me with a deep gaze, as if she almost understood what I was trying to convey.

"Lastly, the game which I am playing also made me $1000 over the week, totalling the weekly earning to $3000," I summed it up, making her widen her eyes a bit more. From the look she was giving me, I believed she knew my intentions now.

"Mikael-" She was about to tell me that it was my hard-earned money, or perhaps something similar. But I didn't let her speak.

"So, Mom. Please quit one of your jobs. I would prefer the office one since it has unnecessarily long working hours."

She paused. A kind smile was present on her face as she looked at me with a pride-filled expression, this time not for the money that I made, but filial piety that I was showing.

"Son, those are your-" she was about to reject me once again, but I wasn't finished yet.

"The only reason I am not asking you to quit both your jobs is because I know you like to work in that saloon with aunty Zehell. Also, you are used to this kind of life, too," I spoke as I looked at her, turning silent, waiting for me to continue.

"You have taken care of me for a very long time, Mom. But now I can't let you overwork any longer. Especially when I am earning enough to sustain us both. Please understand, Mom," I said with a serious expression.

"But what if-"

"Within 3 months, we will be at Regalia University. They have a scholarship program where we don't have to pay a single cent for lodging, food or any of the activities. Even if I fail to get in there, I can still manage to earn more than enough to support us both through my part-time jobs. I know you have saved $50,000 for my college. Adding the $30,000, we have a total of $80,000. If everything fails, we can just open a small shop nearby and work at our own business," I added, making her turn silent again.

For the next 5 minutes, she turned silent, sat on the nearby chair and began pondering the whole situation. I could see her getting worried at times, looking at me as she wanted to ask something, but then turning quiet again.

After she was completely done with her thoughts…

"Sigh. All right, since you are this serious, I will give up my office job. Though, don't put too much pressure on yourself, okay? Tell Mom if anything goes wrong," she finally gave up, making me smile brightly.

"I will, Mom," I responded.

"Though… You seem to have really thought this through. Exactly what shop were you planning to open?" She asked curiously.

"I was thinking of opening a cafe or a restaurant. Perhaps I can learn to cook?" I pondered with a serious expression.

"…"
