Chapter 81: Tramian Bellimore
Tramian Bellimore.
If you ever happen to get curious and read the backstory of the Bellimores, you will find his name at the top.
Or maybe you were curious to see one of the most sensational stories of the century and happened to read an article or a book regarding the one that changed the shape of the economy. You will find his name there.
At the very least, when you search for the country's top billionaires, you will definitely find his name there.
Though surprisingly, you won't find anything about his family, parents or heritage. After all, he had none.
Tramian Bellimore was an orphan.
The tragic story starts with the death of Tramian's parents and brother in an accidental explosion caused by one of the terrorists from the neighbouring countries. That day, Tramian lost not only his family but also everything else he had.
His uncle, the next closest kin, also a womanizer and a drunkard, fucked over Tramian before selling him to a nearby orphanage.
During the times of war, the orphanages were nothing more than an extra supply of soldiers or slaves that would work till their last breath. Whether they died or lived, nobody batted an eye.
The 3-years-old Tramian could only accept his fate as he looked at his uncle counting the money which he got after selling him to the orphanage.
It was near Utah, a place at the corner of the country, where wars were common, especially during those times, when a massive oil reserve was found near the border and both the countries wanted to claim it. Tension was high, and the daily death tolls were even higher.
As fate would have it, Tramian Bellimore spent most of his early days as a war slave who transferred weapons from one point to another. Sometimes legal, sometimes illegal. He often wondered what was the point of living like this, making him keep suicide as an escape option ready.
Though if he were ever to choose that, at the very least, he wanted to take his bastard uncle along with him.
By the age of 5, just like many other orphans, Tramian started selling newspapers as a paperboy. Though unlike other children who spent the little money they earned to eat their fill, Tramian starved himself 2 of the three times daily, saving the money and spending it on learning the language of the country. Reading and writing, for the most part.
One of the tutors nearby taught him everything in exchange for the little money he provided. Tramian would often tell how he would repay it all back 100 times more, and even become richer than anyone else in the country, making his tutor smile and laugh at times.
The rich fascinated him. He often wondered about the reasons why those rich people would always be willing to buy these papers, reading them before throwing them in the nearby dustbins. What was so important in those papers that there was always a demand for? Tramian was a curious child.
He learnt to the best of his ability, most days daydreaming to become someone who would be on the other end of the transaction. Someone who bought these papers and not the one who sold them. He couldn't let himself stay fallen like the other children around him.
By the age of 7, Tramian had learnt to read, write and understand not only the language of the country but also of the enemy. Not limiting himself to that, he also learnt about science, geography, history and mathematics.
Though there was little he could have used this knowledge for. Education… wasn't very easy to get when you have little background and money.
So Tramian decided to do the next best thing that he had learnt from the local newspapers, especially from the section where criminals and their bounty were placed. That is to do things in an illegal way.
He started with the guns. Stealing the bare minimum from the army, selling it to local thugs. In return, buying alcohol from the local market and sold it to soldiers on the battlefield. He started his small yet growing business, earning more money than ever before, and slowly accumulating wealth that would soon become the foundation of his empire.
Looking at him growing, the other orphanage children collected around him. They wanted to know his secret, and Tramian was no fool. He knew that if he wanted to be someone bigger than today, he couldn't do things alone.
He needed people.
Those who can share his burden.
Those who are willing to sacrifice everything for him.
Those who are ready to die for him.
Within the small outskirts of Utah, the 9-year-old Tramian started a gang of 11 children. Children who were trained by Tramian collect information, sell smaller goods, and find more lost children they can feed and make a part of their gang.
In the next 3 years, the gang grew massively, becoming an entire network of at least 147 children spread throughout Utah, all working under a fixed system created by Tramian. He taught them how to fight. He taught them how to steal. And most importantly, he taught them how to get away from the adults.
Yeah, Tramian didn't trust adults. He despised them.
Other than his tutor, not even a single adult had ever helped him. Those who came always had a purpose, a secret agenda or a purpose that was always filled with greed. If he could have, he would have killed all the adults in Utah.
But even he knew that if someday he were to face them, there was no way the children would win. So they needed a plan. Something that would keep them afloat for a long, very long time.
"Let's make them kill each other," the 15-years-old Tramian decided, as he used the information on hand to sell the gangsters and the military against each other.
Without anyone knowing, Tramian had caused three civil wars within Utah, and made sure that his empire of children stayed safe from this.
By the time Tramian turned 20, the entire Utah was under his control, with not a single person to go against him.
The ambitious Tramian soon took over the nearby areas. One of the lucky encounters ended up getting him a gold mine on an abandoned mountain. Something that changed the entire life of Tramian Bellimore once more.
Overnight, he became one of the richest men in the entire country.
Fast-forwarding to the next 30 or 40 years, Tramian expanded his empire through the country and internationally. He had acquired by any means possible many more gold and silver mines, even coal mines wherever he could find them, and decided to go deeper into this business.
As of now, he has control over 90% of the gold mines in the entire country, and is one of the 3 billionaires of the country, and the leader of Bellimore, the strongest leading family that this country has.
And right now, he was sitting on the opposite side of the screen, looking at me with a curious look. His eyes were wondering who I was. And what was I doing in the same room as his great-granddaughter?
Why did I even think this was a good idea to follow Alexandra? I questioned as I gazed at Tramian Bellimore, wondering what he would say next.
