MMORPG: Divine Mech Hunter

Chapter 1818 Strong Wind

"Focus fire on her," Li Yao commanded.

The ranged fighters had already regrouped, with the Magician's agony spell, the Mage's magic bomb, the Druid of Balance's Moon Fire, and Blood Rose's Blood Explosion.

Instantly, Irina was showered in a kaleidoscope of colors, followed by a deluge of spells raining down, starting a torrent of damage.

"Watch out for the War Bear, damn it, she's covering it," Iron Tower blurted out without realizing, as the War Bear charged into the crowd.

It launched a charge, catching everyone's attention on Irina, but only the Priest attending Iron Tower noticed.

When the War Bear charged, the Priest realized the target was another Paladin, instinctively casting a Shield: "Protect."

The Paladin also instinctively gave the Death Knight a blessing of protection, but the next moment, the Priest knew she misspoke; the opponent was a physical attacker, and she had instinctively thought of the protection blessing as a shield against, leaving out the invincible.

The Paladin thought the Priest saw some danger for the Death Knight, unable to see the War Bear's target from his angle, so he instinctively protected the tank, thinking it didn't matter if there was any existing enmity, otherwise a protection blessing shouldn't be randomly given to a tank as it would remove threat.

But after giving it, he heard the distinct sound of a charge from behind, then was directly knocked over by the War Bear, fiercely pounded, and before he could react, his neck was bitten and violently shaken.

The Paladin's health plummeted to zero instantly; it all happened so suddenly. They were unfamiliar with the boss's mechanics, which led to casualties, beginning with the healer's death.

The other ranged fighters quickly distanced themselves from the War Bear while Irina sneered, having taken a hit. She knew melee wasn't her match, and her melee weapon had flown off, so she wisely chose long-range attacks, entering a Ranger mode, dodging and weaving, continually firing arrows, targeting not just the Death Knight but everyone.

Iron Tower managed another taunt, finally holding the War Bear's aggro.

Li Yao calmly said, "Get him back to life."

The Druid of Balance rolled to dodge arrows and then cast battle resurrection on the Paladin.

"Although it's our first time against this boss, can we at least not get too tense? Even under pressure, don't mislead teammates. If you didn't remind him, the Paladin would've had a chance to cast invincibility on himself. Also, Paladin, are you really from the mercenary group? Is this how you use protection spells, didn't anyone teach you? Even if the tank is dying, you can use Holy Healing rather than protection; now the aggro is completely messed up. The opponent is highly intelligent."

Though not his team, Li Yao still admonished them.

Those criticized didn't dare talk back; indeed, they had performed poorly due to nervousness, but they wouldn't admit it. Make changes if you're wrong, and be commended without mistakes; the biggest team taboo is opposing the commander.

Despite the harsh output environment, these were skilled boss killers. They weren't new to killing faction-level bosses, but it was usually the limit, often using special tools for the kill.

This was the first real combat without using special items.

Irina was incredibly agile and cunning; only the ranged could occasionally hit her. Melee, including Li Yao, couldn't touch her at all.

Li Yao didn't dare to fly up with his wings; against such a powerful Hunter boss, being airborne would make him a sitting duck. His flying speed wasn't fast enough to dodge close-range arrows, and even if his spirit could predict, his reflexes and agility were a step slower.

After the surprise attack by the War Bear, others were on guard, but it remained very dangerous.

Iron Tower initially wanted to pull the War Bear far away, but beyond a certain range, the War Bear would turn back, leaving Iron Tower helpless, barely maintaining its aggro.

"What do we do now? Melee can't reach, making it even harder," Blood Rose, as a blood mist, also shifty, could fully output only due to her skills.

"I'll figure out a way to get close, but even with the distance now, Grasp of Death can't pull her in," Li Yao paused before continuing, "Others should prioritize survival over output."

Li Yao hated agile classes the most, not because of their speed, but because their reflexes prevented him from landing a fatal blow on their weaknesses.

Li Yao, being a Hunter, was used to kiting others, and now being kited himself was a unique experience.

Whirlwind Charge!

Li Yao was frustrated to find the moon hidden, meaning no shadows for Shadow Step.

"You can't reach me."

Powerful Strike!

Irina's long bow creaked under tension, unleashing an arrow with immense force, tearing through the air.

The two Whirlwind Assaults collided, shattering dozens of feathers from Li Yao's wings and bringing his charge to a halt. It was his first time having his Whirlwind Charge thwarted.

But the good news was Irina was within his charge range now, and he launched his charge without hesitation.

Boom!

Li Yao's greatsword slashed down hard.

Irina chuckled lightly, flipping backward while leaving a gray shadow in place. As Li Yao collided with the shadow, it shattered explosively, sending him reeling and his health dropping significantly.

Gale Barrage!

Irina, flipping to land, knelt on one knee, her form surrounded by a gentle breeze, her long bow seeming to sprout wings as gusts of wind whipped around her.

Thunk!

Thunk!

Thunk!

Sharp wind arrows floated up in ranks around her, filling the air with dense arrowheads.

Li Yao's expression changed: "Everyone find cover or protect yourselves."

Even without Li Yao's warning, others noticed the danger. Damn, this boss doesn't play by the rules, unleashing a massive attack so soon.

This super ultimate normally released when under half health, yet here the boss launches it with over 90% health.

Swish, swish, swish, swish!

Arrow volleys messily shot out, embodying a true storm of arrows, each accompanied by a fierce gale that cut painfully against the skin.

Li Yao had no choice; his body wrapped by his wings, feathers shattering rapidly, depleting the number frenetically.

Others, two healers closest to the Magic Tower, directly leaned against it for cover, while all others had to rely on their skills for survival.

The Death Knight's Bone Shield also kept shattering until finally bursting apart, a barrage of arrows launching her body far away...
