Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 78 Hats and Short Swords

The relaxed and laid-back academy life had come to a temporary halt.

Standing in front of the mirror, Tilan looked at her uniform, which had black as the base color and deep blue pleats, smoothed out the edges, and then turned her body slightly to examine the details.

The uniform mainly consisted of three pieces, with a white, well-fitted blouse inside, which was adorned with a blue ribbon bow at the collar; below was a black pleated skirt with a waistband design. The skirt had a slit on the side, with deep blue pleats inside that could be spread out for easy movement but would automatically close when standing still, revealing just a hint of blue to add a sense of layering.

Besides the blouse and skirt, there was the jacket, black with broad lapels. The turned-up cuffs were adorned with deep blue, which harmonized perfectly with the skirt when worn, creating a seamless and matching style. The well-tailored fit highlighted the young girl's lovely figure and long legs, offering a beauty that was both simple and efficient.

"With these glasses, it's just perfect," Annelli said, handing over a pair of black-framed glasses. The girl in the mirror shed her former naivety and now appeared slightly demure and more professional.

After arranging her attire, Tilan didn't linger any longer and began to make her way to report to the student council.

All along the way, Annelli, dressed in a uniform similar to Tilan's, followed, resembling her secretary. The two arrived at the student council office, but today they would not be received by President Amors.

"The President had something this morning and couldn't come, but he has instructed that today I will take Miss Tilan to familiarize herself with the situation," said a young man with deep golden short hair, who gave a bow with one hand on his shoulder, like a proper noble's butler.

"My name is Kolter. Miss Tilan can just call me by my name. I'm currently a third-year and a member of the Internal Affairs Department of the student council. My main responsibilities are arranging and organizing various activities within the school," he said.

"Internal Affairs Department?" Tilan guessed there might be several departments within the student council.

"Yes, the main duty of the Internal Affairs Department is to coordinate and arrange the various activities within the academy, such as the setting of venues, facility layout, and personnel allocation," he explained.

"What about the other departments?" the girl asked curiously.

"There are six departments in total within the student council: the Discipline Department, External Affairs Department, Internal Affairs Department, Accounting Department, Record Department, and Main Control Department," he detailed.

"I'll explain the duties of these departments to Miss Tilan one by one later. Please follow me for now; I'll explain along the way," he invited.

He led the two out of the office, into the adjacent corridor, and into the blue, transparent elevator before Kolter continued to speak.

"Since I am a member of the Internal Affairs Department, many of the affairs I will be showing you today are related to this department," he mentioned.

"First of all, most students within Edith Academy are active in societies rather than in class groups, which is also encouraged by the school. The application and establishment of societies, as well as the declaration for activity funds, are all related to the Internal Affairs Department," he elaborated.

"Of course, the final approval of funding and related procurements is handled by the Accounting Department. Thanks to AI assistance, their department doesn't have many people, typically 4-5, whereas our Internal Affairs Department is a bit more complex and has a total of 16 members," he added.

"After all, students aren't staff members and can't be busy with student council duties at the school every day, so our 16 members usually split into four groups that work in turns. Today happens to be our group's turn," he clarified.

On the way, Kolter started to introduce the specific affairs of their department and gradually brought the two to an indoor training ground. The space was large, echoing the voices of people inside. Under the pristine deep blue dome of glass, students dressed in protective gear were practicing swordplay with one another, with the sound of clashing swords occasionally breaking the silence.

The swordsmanship practiced here was diverse, including the swift and light-footed Swift Sword, the powerful Double-handed Sword, and the Military Saber Technique, among others. With about thirty students in attendance and more who had not yet arrived, this society was one of the three largest in Edith Academy.

Once inside the venue, some of the students looked curiously at the trio, but before they could approach to inquire, a tall, bald man came over, patted their shoulders, and gestured for them to step back.

"Good morning, Kolter," he greeted the young man before focusing on the two girls beside him, knowing that Kolter wouldn't come over for no reason today. Seeing the unfamiliar faces, he figured they must be relevant to the two newcomers.

"Good morning, President Wulai," Kolter nodded in acknowledgment, neither too familiar nor too distant, and then led the trio to a corner of the venue.

"This is President Wulai of the 'Hat and Short Sword' society, a fourth-year student, Slashing Blade Sequence 5, and a well-known figure in our school," he introduced.

"Hahaha, you flatter me," Wulai laughed heartily, hand on his waist. Despite his modest words, his expression said otherwise.

Could he really be a student? Tilan wondered, looking at the beard along his cheeks with a hint of curiosity. He seemed mature, and considering he was a fourth-year, probably around 20 years old, it made a bit of sense.

"This is Tilan, a new member of our student council. President Amors asked me to show Miss Tilan around the school and introduce her to the affairs and situation here," Kolter said.

"Oh, you're Tilan?" Wulai seemed to have heard of her, which took the dark-haired girl by surprise.

"Hmm, I've occasionally heard about you from the first-year members. What did they say... Ah, a very pretty girl, hehehe..." His attempt at a hearty laugh seemed to alarm Annelli nearby.
