Chapter 52: Steel-Gray Skies and Earth_2
"Some say she is missing, but I don't believe it. After all, she's the Songstress, with so many people protecting her, how could she suddenly disappear? If true, the Court of Judgment would have already questioned this." Rocora really likes Tilan, not the dark and gloomy Tilan circulated online, but the more true-to-life, slightly modest, and shy Tilan.
"Although there aren't many voices discussing this, I think there are still many people like me, quietly waiting for her to return and release new songs online, describing the future she yearns for in her music."
"Next time we meet, I definitely want to greet her properly."
After speaking, Rocora placed both hands behind her back, gazing between the delicate gray-red earth, as a newly built large Battleship slowly sailed across the blue sky overhead.
Sleek and advanced contour, gray-red battleship armor, and the central spine main cannon spanning the entire ship, with the clear inscription of a white bull-horned beast head badge at the corner edges of the battleship.
'Prison Bull Heavy Industry', a giant military industrial enterprise entrenched in the Givillia Star Domain, existed since the early days of the Federation, once fell into decline, but revived during the civil war four hundred years ago, participated in the design and development of the 'Dragon Sigh' class battleship at that time, and was dismantled by the Federal Official after the civil war, with the factory in the Four-leaf Crystal Star Domain being sold and abandoned, then the headquarters moved north of the Federation to Givillia, became an important economic pillar for the local Star Domain.
——————
An unknown Lost Planet, Northern Continent.
The July wind blows, the once rain-moistened earth becomes dry, cracking into countless crevices, with delicate green grass blending in, trembling and swaying in the wind.
A heavy hoof steps into the earth, pressing the cracked edge soil into powder fragments, then heavy fur covers the sky, continuing to walk in the barren wilderness.
A team traversing the wild, they have more than ten dark brown thick-furred yaks. The accompanying personnel all have upright round ears, wearing crafted standard Steel Armor, while holding threaded Lance and dual-hand Longsword by their sides.
Walking in the dry wind, this team arduously crosses this long wilderness, nearly thirty days of journey gradually exhausts their strength, weary to the bone.
However, the view filled with endless barren scenery finally changes, a touch of gold gradually appears on the horizon line where the sky meets the earth.
Fields after harvest left with some wheat stalks, and the bundled haystacks, topped with rain-shielding conical hats.
"Finally arrived, is this the fertile land they mentioned?" The group halts slightly, watching the square golden wheat fields on the wild grounds.
"Let's go, now we should be able to have a good meal." The guiding Captain gestures, the reinvigorated team leads their yaks, moving slowly toward the bustling and crowd-gathered grassland settlement.
The baked bricks piled into walls, this newly built town is very lively, now the most prominent in town is the two-story tavern, where many visiting guests stay and reside, behind the tavern is two rows of houses for overnight rest, with a penned area for livestock beside, inside clean water and ample fodder available.
When this team entered the town, they looked around curiously, their round ears slightly swaying, listening to sounds from all directions.
There are stalls trading various goods here, wanderers seeking temporary work, trader teams coming for business, and local residents wearing Silver Star badges, as if it were the greatest honor and symbol of identity.
Stopping at a fragrant bakery ahead, the Captain approached the window to inquire.
The store displayed various breads, with the most basic long bread, white bread, then the better butter bread, sandwich bread, and even some pieces with meat and vegetables on the back shelf.
"How do you sell the bread?"
The shopkeeper looked around forty years old, her skin dark brown and very solid, a distinct trait of members from the Heshan Rescue Association.
"Judging by your appearance, this should be your first visit. If you don't have currency crafted by the Chasing Star Covenant, please exchange with goods that are convenient to circulate."
"Will this do?" The Captain took out several gemstones from his pocket.
"Gemstones are acceptable, but not valuable." They might look nice, but are not practical, plus with the techniques of some large organizational forces, they can actually manufacture gemstones and glass themselves.
"In that case." The Captain took out an emblem pressed from gold, featuring a Mouse-Ear Clan's face, with golden cosmos motifs on the back.
"Seems like you are from the East's Iron Rat Kingdom." The shopkeeper accepted the gold emblem, then took down three long breads and wrapped them up, handing over change currency to the Captain, telling them it could be used within the town.
"Thank you." After accepting, the Captain gratefully replied, then called the team to proceed toward the tavern area.
Along the path on the street, they saw no fewer than ten kinds of different Species, including members of the Heshan Rescue Association, Cat Tail Species, Fox-tail Species, Wolf Blood Species, and even saw an image with butterfly wings flying overhead.
"That's the Butterfly Species, right?" Someone in the team was amazed, looking at the figure in the sky.
"Indeed, once powerful Butterfly Species," the Captain replied, then called the team to lead the yaks into the large tavern that could accommodate hundreds.
First guided by tavern staff, tied the yaks within the livestock pen, with some personnel following the Captain into the tavern interior.
Filled with lively sounds, various scents of dishes wafted, provoking appetite, they also followed the people ahead to find a place to sit, and inquired about the menu and prices.
Minutes later, the members returned after ordering.
"The food prices here are reasonable, seems we can rest and enjoy well today."
"Finally able to sleep and rest well," one person sighed.
"I've never heard of this small town before."
"Who exactly built it, to be so prosperous, without seeing thieves and robbers on the way, not even beggars and the sick?"
"It's Lady Hexia who established this city, you'll learn later that she is such a great person." The tavern attendant proudly told them.
Upon hearing the attendant's words, the Captain became very curious, asked many questions in succession, such as how the vast wheat fields were cultivated here, and whether the food here truly matches the legend, being rare and pure even for prolonged consumption without harm.
"You are asking too much, I have work to do now," the attendant wanted to answer but was busy working.
"Exit the tavern and turn left, there's a bookstore that sells many useful books, including those that answer your questions."
"There are precious books for sale, have they mastered large-scale printing technology?" The group felt curious again, almost wanting to skip eating and head over to see.
But for now, everyone was too hungry and tired, first had some food and then talked.
After enjoying a delicious dinner, they arrived at their lodging room to spend the night, with the previously purchased bread being the breakfast and ration for the next few days.
The next morning, they found the bookstore, judging by the wood paneling and decorations, it should be newly built, the bookstore owner is very special, with a pleasant appearance and a pair of striking snow-white wings behind.
"Welcome~ adorable mouses." Spotting the several Mouse-Ear Clan members entering the shop, this angel-like woman hopped down from a hanging chair, landing in front of them.
"I am Celestia, the bookstore owner here. Tell me, what kind of knowledge are you yearning for?" With both hands gently clasped together, her golden eyes curiously observed the unfamiliar faces.
Wasn't this the Mouse-Ear Clan seen in books before? Although not tall, they appear somewhat cute, truly a successful creation by us Silver Wings Species.
Relying on the knowledge skill of book making and printing, Celestia quickly became an associate of the Chasing Star Covenant, this too happened within the first three days of opening the bookstore, unexpectedly meeting a secondary species created by the Silver Wings Species so soon.
Even though no one knows, they indeed invisibly dominate this planet, with many of the species and lifeforms originating from their craftsmanship.
The development trajectory of these life forms also became their best observation subject and experimental material, paving the steps for the advancement of Silver Wings Species civilization.
