Chapter 48: Stone Sword Covenant and Queen Hexia
Under the night sky, Tilan stood in the camp that had become a complete mess, with embers and ashes still smoldering at her feet. After she forcefully suppressed the chaos, the entire camp began to slowly calm down.
The firelight persisted, but the previous shouting and running noises subsided.
Few in the King Camp recognized Tilan, although her other identity was widely known. Thankfully, at this moment, she didn't need to introduce herself, as some of the Wolf Blood Species' high ranks recognized her.
"Lady Hexia, it's me, I'm Gus." Gus, like a mountain of fat, lay on the ground, speaking with flattering supplication.
Seeing the young lady paying him little attention, he became anxious, sweating profusely. Meanwhile, other Wolf Blood Species hesitated and feared somewhat; after all, this young lady just crushed the Wolf Blood Queen as if slaughtering a chicken, pairing her strength with her small stature, giving them a sense of illusion and incredulity, as if their memories of just now were fake.
Indeed, some didn't witness the battle scene earlier and seeing the young lady standing arrogantly in the midst of the King Camp, wanted to teach her a lesson.
"Where did this girl come from? Quite a sight, come here!" A scar-eyed Wolf Blood Species stepped out of the crowd, seeing the girl on the open ground, his eyes shone as he rushed forward.
Seeing him about to reach out to grab the girl, others held their breath; some were schadenfreude, some were extremely tense, some probing and observing, others eager to verify, and Tilan took note of all these emotions and thoughts. Although she saved many, most remained muddled, believing they survived by luck, only a few with excellent vision and the ability to observe the entire process understood the battle's true course.
Indeed, it's an uncultured barbaric species, Tilan thought, a shift in her thoughts. The Holy Sword planted in the ground rippled an invisible barrier, directly separating and pushing the man away.
Seeing this, Gus suddenly thought of something and immediately stood up to shout, "People, capture this guy who offended Lady Hexia and behead him!"
This guy indeed takes human lives lightly. Although Tilan disliked many of the Wolf Blood Species present, as someone from a civilized society, she didn't have a tendency to slaughter indiscriminately.
However, at this moment, she wasn't going to burst with sympathy and plead for mercy either.
At Gus's order, several Wolf Blood Species guards hesitated for a moment, deciding to carry out the command. No matter what, the Wolf Blood Queen was no longer present; they inherently admired strength, and to survive on this land, they surely needed to curry favor with this young lady before them. Rather than having no avenues for favor later, it's better to pledge allegiance today; after all, the Wolf Blood Species never spoke of loyalty and faith, betrayal is just betrayal.
Just moments ago, the man who thought he caught a beautiful, delicate girl to enjoy was suddenly surrounded by people intending to capture him, leaving him utterly perplexed.
"What are you doing? She's just a slut born for our play, why seize me?"
"Shut the hell up!" Fearing he'd say more, several Wolf Blood Species guards hurriedly muffled his mouth and dragged him away.
Shortly after, a bloody head was brought over and quietly placed on the ground.
This barbaric and bloody behavior made Tilan somewhat uneasy mentally, but she said nothing more; perhaps her experiences over this period made her realize that preaching morality and beliefs to such primitive and barbaric settlement species was akin to playing the lute to a cow.
Step by step.
"Since you recognize me, I won't bother with pleasantries. Gus, gather the remaining high ranks and Transcendents of the Wolf Blood Species, also notify other species and have them send representatives here, as for others, split them into several teams to handle firefighting, rescue, and settlement."
"Yes, yes, yes, Gus understands, I'll make sure to serve Lady Hexia perfectly." Gus, seeing the young lady finally willing to speak to him and even giving him orders, felt a stone drop from his heart.
Being given orders meant being considered one of their own; now able to cling to this mighty thigh, it's truly the greatest guarantee for survival amidst the chaos.
About half an hour later, representatives leading various clans within the King Camp and the remaining high ranks of the Wolf Blood Species gathered at the central open ground.
A magnificent silver Holy Sword was embedded there, adorned with golden branches and silver roses; just by standing there, it gave powerful pressure to some High Rank Extraordinary Ones. In contrast, ordinary mortals not practicing the Sequence felt little, thinking it just a beautiful sword.
Faced with this Holy Sword, some Wolf Blood Species who initially harbored discontent and dissent had no choice but to restrain parts of their ambitions and arrogance, silently standing aside.
On the ground not far from the Holy Sword, several wooden crates were scattered, and Tilan now sat atop one, about three to four meters above the ground, her long black hair and dress fluttering in the evening breeze.
Seeing the crowd gradually gather, she lightly jumped down from above, landing like a feather beside the Holy Sword.
"I know many of you are dissatisfied and discontented, but I don't care about that." Tilan's gaze swept across the crowd, and many, under her burning gaze, felt an unsettling sense of being seen through.
