Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 44: The Expected Swarm of Buzzing (Part 2)

The small wireless signal reception device inside had started to turn, the originally red pointer shifted to green, indicating that Flan and the others had successfully escaped from the Wolf Blood Species escort.

"It seems they were quite smooth with it," Tilan put down the device in her hand and locked it up again.

This way, she could leave the King Camp at any time, though she felt a bit reluctant now, as there were still so many books in this room she hadn't finished reading.

She still had to return here in the future, especially since the camp's issues were more important. Over sixteen hundred people in the settlement camp were waiting for her to lead them, she couldn't stay here any longer.

Standing up, Tilan went to her room to change clothes and pack up belongings.

In the still of the night, Tilan wore a light skirt and long boots standing in the courtyard of the tent, holding a small wooden box with many books in it in one hand, while the other hand was free to handle any sudden situation.

At this moment, the others were also prepared, gathering behind Tilan, waiting for her orders.

"Is everyone ready?" The youth turned around, nodding slightly at the few people present, including Guy, Moli, two agile Fox-tail Species, two calm and rational Grey Feather Species, and a hybrid human.

"No problem." Guy nodded, they were ready to escape King Camp, but still unsure about how this young girl would lead them out.

"Of course, we'll walk out," Tilan smiled slyly.

"Flying over would be too conspicuous, even at night it's easy for certain special species to notice, it's more convenient to just walk out."

"Rest assured, I have a way to get us out safely."

...

It was already early morning, and the streets inside King Camp were quiet, only occasionally patrollers passing through; there was a night curfew starting from 9 PM, and nobody was out.

However, in the darkness, Tilan took the few people with her, leisurely turning corners and small paths, smoothly moving towards the camp's edge. With her current powerful sense, the patrols of the entire camp were easy to foresee, avoiding them was simple.

Just like that, the group reached the corner of the camp's edge, here stood tall double-layered wooden walls, the inner circle higher, and the outer circle resembling mounted chevaux-de-frise.

Reaching this point, Tilan certainly didn't suggest everyone leap over it, instead, she raised a finger, simply slid it, and had her companions push, a smooth-cut door appeared.

They simply walked out, arriving on the empty wilderness outside, several people were still somewhat incredulous, as if they hadn't fully stepped out from the strict defenses and psychological pressure of King Camp.

When they continued walking a bit further, looking back at the dimly lit flagpoles dotted with wildfires, they slowly adjusted to the concept of having left this place.

"Did we just leave like this?" One Fox-tail Species touched their face and arm, still seemingly disbelieving, after all the pressure and intimidation from the Wolf Blood Queen was always a huge weight on their heart.

"We left, unless you all still want to reside inside?" Guy replied with a smile, comforting his companions.

On the other side, Tilan sat atop a laid wooden box, looking up at the vast sky full of stars, her eyes slightly closed, recalling the experiences of these times.

In the next year or two, she probably wouldn't return to this grassland. If the Wolf Blood Queen found out she had left in anger to chase eastward, she wouldn't mind teaching a lesson in the wilderness, letting them understand what true strength really is.

But for now, she only wished to return to the camp in the hillside quickly, teach everyone how to farm before the rainy season arrived, then wait for the wheat and rice to grow quietly, and make delicious bread, steamed buns, cakes, and noodles with everyone.

"Let's go." Seeing everyone fully rested, Tilan stood up, patted her skirt, preparing to lift the wooden box and lead the few people flying away.

However, this is...

The girl suddenly halted her movement, standing still in place, this change puzzled and piqued the curiosity of the others. Just as they were about to ask, Tilan raised a hand, pointing to the distant night sky.

"That is..."

The people were first confused looking at a piece of darkness in the night sky, somewhat unclear, but after around ten seconds, when one by one weak red dots appeared, their breaths noticeably tightened, constrained.

"That's a large number of mechanical bodies; are they heading toward King Camp?" Guy's vision was sharpest, the first to notice the anomaly.

"This number, dozens? Hundreds? No, should be over a thousand." Someone in the group widened their mouth slightly, shocked by the increasingly clear outlines in the night sky.

And as these flashing red dots of mechanical bodies drew nearer, the grand humming noise soon followed.

In the night, the dark six-winged flying cockroaches arrayed in strict formation, the three pairs of legs below clutching slender arrow shafts like bee stingers, each speeding over the crowd's heads, the nearby sharp blade-legs and wings brought a chilling aura of killing.

At this moment, the crowd finally saw the three figures being desperately pursued by these numerous mechanical entities, their wings flapping, continually weaving in the chase of countless mechanical bodies, dodging the flashing red dots of six-winged flying cockroaches, resembling fragile butterflies amidst a storm.

And in their frantic guiding and pulling effort, these mechanical autonomous units swarmed forth, their flapping wings obscuring the night sky, the noise and boom resembling the most terrifying command, uncovering the entire King Camp.
