Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 44: Forced Detainment (Part 2)

At the banquet, Tilan found Gus, who was hosting the distinguished guests at the far end. Gus raised his glass and praised Tilan's beautiful attire and captivating demeanor tonight.

"This is Miss Hexia, the renowned legendary healer of recent days." He introduced Tilan first, then introduced the two people beside the young lady.

"This is Mudrick, the leader of the 'Sharp Red' settlement." The person beside him looked to be in his forties, with short, chestnut-brown hair, dark red eyes, and a tall, upright figure, appearing calm and determined, unlike the ordinary Wolf Blood Species who only knew brute force and slaughter.

"Hello." Tilan nodded slightly in greeting.

"Hello." The other person returned the gesture, raising his hand.

"And this is Briz, the leader of the 'White Tooth' settlement." He gestured to the other person beside him, who had dark-golden cascading hair and three white paint streaks on his face, resembling claw marks.

"Hello." Tilan nodded again.

Compared to Mudrick, the leader of the 'Sharp Teeth' settlement, Briz of the 'White Tooth' appeared somewhat absent-minded, occasionally glancing towards the entrance of the tent, seemingly waiting for someone's arrival.

Seeing Briz not responding, Mudrick smoothed things over, proactively asking Tilan some harmless trivial questions.

"It's said that Miss Hexia's medical skills are like that of a god. I wonder if in the future, you might visit the 'Sharp Teeth' settlement for a while. The scenery there is quite nice, and the children are eager to interact with someone as beautiful and wise as you."

"Thank you, I'll visit if I have the chance." Tilan replied, surprised to find that this seemingly calm and determined leader was actually quite socially adept and not as rigid as expected.

Just as they were having a back-and-forth conversation, discussing recent events on the grasslands and in the King's Camp, the long-awaited Queen finally arrived.

The sound of a golden gong being struck rang outside the tent, and the buzz of conversation inside the banquet gradually quieted. Everyone looked towards the entrance and cleared a path in the middle, awaiting the Queen's arrival.

When Tilan first saw the tall figure of the Wolf Blood Queen emerge from behind the fire basin, she couldn't help but open her mouth in astonishment, because the Queen was incredibly tall, almost seeming like a different species compared to the surrounding Wolf Blood Species.

Fortunately, despite her extraordinary height, her body proportions remained largely unchanged, and one could see from her powerful legs that her combat speed wouldn't be slow.

Her slender arms extended, sweeping over the crowd. Her blood-red nails passed above the candlesticks, extinguishing the lively bronze candles in the banquet one by one, leaving only the candlelight surrounding the Throne on the central platform. The rest of the area was illuminated by the dimly-lit lamps overhead.

Accompanied by a gentle breeze, the Wolf Blood Queen gracefully sat on her throne, her crossed legs taller than some of the people present. Her slender eyes scanned the room slowly before settling on Hexia.

"You are Hexia, right?"

"Yes, my Queen." Tilan mimicked the way others addressed the Wolf Blood Species but did not kneel, merely bowing her head in acknowledgment.

"Your medical skills are quite impressive, and it's clear that your knowledge is also substantial."

"Stay here in the King's Camp in the future. There's room for you to showcase your talents, and as for the food you requested, I'll have someone send it back. No one on this grassland dares to seize anything from the Wolf Blood Species." She didn't even ask Hexia's opinion, but instead directly commanded.

"This..." Tilan thought for a moment about how to tactfully refuse.

"Thank you for your grace, my Queen, but I have other matters to attend to first. I'm afraid I'll have to visit the King's Camp at a later time." Tilan cross her hands and bent in a polite bow of apology.

"So you're saying you wish to defy my order?" While saying this, the Wolf Blood Queen's eyes gleamed playfully with a smile, making it difficult to guess her true intentions. Due to this question, the atmosphere of the banquet became somewhat quiet and tense, and everyone focused their attention on the young maiden.

"Hexia is merely a passerby crossing the grassland, with no intent to oppose you. I ask for your understanding, my Queen." She didn't directly answer the question but instead stepped out of the conventional frame, addressing the underlying intention behind the Queen's words.

"Heh heh heh, indeed, you're a clever girl. Seeing you, I'm increasingly convinced that there are some very foolish people around me." As she said this, she glanced intentionally or unintentionally at Gus, who was wiping his sweat.

"Although you promise to come again in the future, such a reply seems too perfunctory to me." The Wolf Blood Queen raised her glass and had a server beside her fill it with wine.

"What exactly do you mean by 'in the future'? And how long will you stay when you come back? I am not a patient person and need a concrete answer."

It seemed the other party was not giving her space to avoid answering, the girl thought.

"In two years, I'll come again as a guest in the King's Camp, and how long I stay depends on how long you're willing to host me." When the Chasing Star Covenant gradually improves two years later, she wouldn't have to worry so much. Besides, by that time, maybe the Federation Starships would have arrived, and this Wolf Blood Queen wouldn't be much of a problem anymore.

"Two years?" The Wolf Blood Queen shook her finger.

"You're the first person daring me to wait for two years." As she said this, her expression changed subtly, with her eyes becoming increasingly sharp.

"And if I don't allow you to leave, what will you do?"

"This..." It seemed a polite refusal was ultimately ineffective, and the other party had a strong-willed personality that would not simply go along with the conversation.
