Chapter 249: Chapter 249. The story of the Void

"What?"

Before I could mutter another word, I was teleported once again, but this time above the Void.

"YOU'RE GOING TO KILL ME!!"

I quickly opened my cape to slow the fall but saw that it wasn't necessary.

Somehow, I was floating in the Void without feeling anything.

It was a weird sensation.

As I was looking around, I saw Noah with a smile looking in the front, which made me do the same.

But all I could see was more of the same Void.

I was about to ask Noah what he was looking at, when in the distance, I could see a block dot getting bigger.

I didn't know how fast we were traveling, but the Void energy was getting ticker, and I could feel it bypass my armor.

This wasn't good, I was going to die at this rate .

"Noah, are you trying to kill me?"

What? Oh, I forgot to put the shield on you. Sorry about that.

Suddenly, I was in a purple sphere, and the pressure was now gone, making me sigh in relief.

"What's with the sudden change, Noah? I thought I wouldn't meet her until I got my new body."

I also thought the same, but after I talked with her, she said that she was interested in meeting with you.

The whole time he was talking with me, his focus had never changed from the growing black dot.

She's a beauty, isn't she?

When the Elders told me about Noah's love, I didn't expect it to be so bad.

No wonder they said that strong emotions are dangerous for the Endeman species.

They didn't see anything besides their loved ones.

Did Violet look the same at me while she's invisible?

Let's not think too much about this and concentrate on what's about to come.

I checked everything that I had on me and realized that I was missing some important items because I was suddenly teleported and left them with the Elders.

This is going to be much harder than I wanted to.

As the black dot grew bigger, I held the mace in my hand, feeling the energy in the storage growing.

The closer we got, the more shocked I was.

In front of us was a huge floating island made completely with black blocks like coal.

On the island, there were 10 obsidian towers with System Made Crystal on top, all shooting a white laser beam towards the same place.

In the center, stood a huge dragon with 2 pairs of wings, 5 eyes, sharp claws, and a huge pole of Bedrock running through her chest that was pinning her to the ground.

Even though she wasn't looking at me, and I was protected by the purple barrier, I felt that her presence alone could crush me in an instant.

"How did the System even fight something like this?"

I mumbled to myself.

No matter how often I met the System, I didn't feel such a powerful presence.

Finally, we arrived at our destination, and she was now looking at us with all of her eyes, and I felt the space around us freeze.

My love! I brought him here as requested.

Noah was suddenly acting like a dog that wanted to be praised, which made me feel disgusted.

Then I quickly realized that he could just offer me to the dragon as a snack, and I couldn't do anything about it.

I said I wanted to talk with him, not you as well.

The Dragon answered back, but it felt that the whole dimension was talking with me.

But love. He can't talk to you unless I'm here to protect him from your greatness!

Noah quickly responded, clearly not wanting to leave so soon.

Looks like their relationship isn't that good at the moment.

Do I have to be the bridge between those 2 as well?

You think that I'm not strong enough to control my presence?!

The dragon yelled back.

From the tone of her voice, it was like Noah accused her of being fat.

N-no, I would-

Suddenly, the huge Enderman disappeared, making my shield pop, leaving me in danger.

Or so I thought.

I think I fell for one block and hit an invisible barrier.

Not only that, but I could actually breathe and not be crushed by the Void.

I was still in shock, but held my mace tightly, hoping that it would be enough to keep me alive for a few more seconds I'm case things got bad.

Is that the key he was talking about?

I felt the mace being pulled from my arm with force, but since I was holding it so tight, my arm was ripped off with the mace.

I screamed in pain and quickly took out an enchanted golden apple to regenerate the arm.

After a few seconds of breathing heavily, I had my arm back and was looking at the dragon with hatred.

The dragon didn't seem to care as she studied the mace with the eye on her forehead.

She was so big, that even I was only the size of one of her eyes.

And not even the big one.

I see, not even I can take it from you by force. Looks like we'll have to use his plan in the end. You can have the key back. Now leave from my presence.

The mace was thrown at me, and I quickly caught it, and suddenly, I felt a force pushing me away like the wind.

But I didn't come all the way here to be humiliated like this and thrown away like a rag.

So when I had the mace in my hand, I created a force field around me, similar to how Noah did, and tried to fight back.

It ate a lot of energy to maintain, but it was strong enough to stop the push and pin me in place.

Why do you fight back? You know you don't stand a chance against me.

"I didn't come all the way here just to be thrown away like nothing. I want to save the Overworld, and I want to save you as well. But I can't do it if you won't let me."

I felt that the force stopped for a moment, and the dragon spoke with a concerned voice.

Did you also fall in love with me?

"What? No! Why would you think that?"

I don't know too much about love, but I don't want to have another creep like the man before you, follow me around. I can't kill him, but I can easily do it with you, key or not.

Well, this was some shocking news to hear, but I didn't have time to think about it since I was going to die if I didn't speak.

"Don't worry, I didn't fall in love with you. I much prefer women from my old world. What I want is to stop you from destroying the Overworld and kill all of my friends!"

The dragon narrowed her eyes.

It's nice to have friends, isn't it?

To have beings that can understand you no matter who you are.

I felt that I stroked a cord that I shouldn't have.

Do you realize how annoying it is to live with an arrow stuck in your stomach that tries to change the essence of the very being you are?

And the only help you can get is from a weirdo that claims to love you, but it all feels forced and disgusting?

I've met 2 beings that could stand in my presence without dying, and one of them tried to kill me while the other tried to shove his love down my throat.

I know what love looks like, I know what friendship looks like!

I've seen it all in the Overworld, and even that was taken from me because I wanted a piece of it as well!

By the end, I could feel that the whole dimension was trembling with her fury.

I didn't know what to do.

"I-I can be your friend if you want to."

The dragon put her head back on the ground and closed her eyes in defeat.

You're only saying that because you don't want me to invade the Overworld.

I mean, that's the main reason, but that doesn't mean that I can't be friends with her.

"Well, I can't deny that it's part of the reason. But why don't we talk about each other, and if you like it, we could become friends afterward. If you don't, I would leave you be and prepare for the final battle."

The dragon lifted her head and smirked.

But she still choose to talk.

Once upon a time, a powerful dragon lived alone in an empty space, surrounded by darkness and loneliness.

As time passed the loneliness became worse and worse.

She could create life with a single thought, but all worshipped her, when she was looking for a friend.

So, she decided to look for other worlds to find an answer. She opened portals that could see through space and time but found only the endless darkness looking back at her.

When she was ready to accept her fate, she finally stumbled across a world.

It was a strange world, with different colors then the cold black.

But that wasn't the only difference.

There was a vast amount of knowledge and beauty on the other side, what surprised her even more, was its unique shape.

She couldn't open a portal big enough for her to go through, so she decided to bring blocks of land into the void, it was the first color brought onto her black canvas, it was beautiful, so she kept taking more into the Void, not a lot, just a cube from here and there.

But after some time, the Void started to corrupt the blocks, and the colors started to change from green and gray to white and yellow. This saddened her, so she tried to bring more, more quickly, but this caught the attention of the world.

The will of the world didn't like to be robbed, so it attacked the dragon. The dragon panicked and tried to cut the connection with the world, but it was too late, the world latched onto her, and began the battle.

But the almighty dragon wasn't weak, and the two fought for an unknown amount of time.

In the end, nobody won, the will of the world started to lose its power and get corrupted, while the dragon was pinned into one place as a last attempt at victory.

The arrow was special since it changed her into a cubed-shaped being and drove her into a madness of pain.

She tried to fight back for an unknown amount of time and slowly adapted to the curse.

But one day, someone appeared to alleviate the pain with towers and Crystals, at the price of the curse becoming a part of her.

Now, she was waiting for the time to come when she would be free from her shackles and get ravaged for her injustice.

She said her story from an outsiders view, which told me that she spend a lot of time thinking about this.

I now knew the full picture, I had all the pices to complete to puzzle.

She is more like a child that wanted a companion but couldn't find or create one.

The System was not an emotional being, and since it didn't know what kind of creature the Void was, it only assumed the worst from her, resulting in this conflict.

I would say that the System is at fault in this equation, but in the same time it responded like that to defend its home.

This problem is very complicated, but I think we can come to a conclusion if we talk some more.

She's only mad at the unfairness of the System, not at its people.

Actually the people helped her, so there was some trust built which we can work with.

"I'm-"

Before I could even begin my speech, space began to tramble and my mace glew with powerful golden light.

AAAAHHHHHHHH!

The dragon screamed in pain, as the pillar of Bedrock lit up in golden flames.

What was happening?!
