Chapter 88: Christmas Day at U.A

On a frosty Christmas morning at U.A. High, the sky shimmered with the soft glow of a winter sun. Class 1-A stirred from their slumber, the smell of cinnamon and pine swirling through the air, mingling with the fresh scent of snow that had blanketed the school overnight. As if they had rehearsed it, one by one, they threw off their blankets, bolted from their dorm rooms, and raced down the hallway.

"Merry Christmas!" shouted Midoriya, his voice echoing with pure joy as he burst through the entrance of the common room, followed closely by his classmates.

The sight that greeted them was nothing short of magical. In the center of the room stood a towering Christmas tree, adorned with shimmering tinsel, twinkling lights, and colorful ornaments. But the real highlight was the pile of gifts sprawling around the base, each beautifully wrapped and tagged with names, exuding an air of excitement that made their hearts race.

"Look at all these presents!" yelled Bakugo, his usual explosive attitude tempered by the infectious cheer of the holiday spirit. "No way I'll let anyone beat me to mine!"

Everyone erupted in laughter, and the air filled with a camaraderie that felt like a warm blanket against the winter chill. As they gathered around the tree, Eri, Aizawa's bright-eyed little girl with a head full of soft, white hair, came bounding into the room. Her cheeks glowed rosy from the cold, and her eyes sparkled with excitement.

"I saw Santa last night!" she exclaimed, her voice a mixture of delight and disbelief.

Class 1-A burst into laughter again, the sound homogeneous and warm, like the crackling of a fire on a cold winter's day. "What did he look like, Eri?" Sero asked, kneeling down beside her.

"He was so jolly and had a big fluffy beard! And he said he loved all of you!" Eri beamed as she gazed at her classmates, her small hands clasped in front of her.

"Even me?" Bakugo challenged, feigning disbelief.

"Uh-huh!" Eri nodded vigorously, causing her pigtails to bounce. "He said you're on the nice list this year!"

Bakugo turned his head away, a faint blush creeping onto his cheeks. "Tch, whatever. Let's open the presents already!"

With Eri at the center, the students of Class 1-A began to tear into their gifts, cheers and squeals of delight filling the room. Each present unveiled was accompanied by a flurry of curiosity and laughter. Momo was thrilled to find a set of high-quality art supplies, while Yosetsu opened a shiny new skateboard, much to his delight.

Eri was overwhelmed with joy, her carefully wrapped presents stacked high, and with the help of her classmates, she began uncovering her own treasures—a plush bunny that seemed almost alive, a pretty dress with little stars, and a book filled with fairy tales.

As they celebrated together, the mood shifted from just the excitement of wrapping paper and new toys to a deeper realization of family. They exchanged stories, laughter echoing in the common room, the spirit of Christmas bringing them closer together.

After the presents were all opened, it was time for the Christmas feast. They crowded into the dining hall, where a lavish spread awaited them. Roasted turkey with golden-brown skin, fluffy mashed potatoes, fragrant stuffing, and an array of colorful vegetables adorned the long table, all painstakingly prepared by Aizawa and the cafeteria staff.

Eri's eyes widened at the sight of Christmas cookies and a dazzling cake shaped like a snowman. As everyone settled down, their plates filled with delicious food, they shared gratitude for the friendships that had grown stronger over time.

"Cheers to Class 1-A!" shouted Kirishima, lifting his glass of sparkling cider high. The shout echoed, and everyone raised their glasses in unison.

"Cheers!" they all echoed back.

As they feasted and played games, the warmth of Christmas wrapped around them like a cozy blanket. For Class 1-A, this was more than just a day of joy; it was a celebration of the bonds they shared, the love they had created, and the promise of many more adventures to come. And in that moment, they felt like the true heroes they aspired to be, stronger together with every laugh, every smile, and every memory made.

And Eri, with her heart full of hope and belief, reminded them all that magic still existed, especially during Christmas.
